Are you a Sadist?

Abomb7894 | Dec. 11, 2012 | Review of Super Meat Boy - PC

This game is a very hard platformer, and that is why its so much fun. It takes so many tries to get through a level, and then at the end, you get to watch all your failed attempts and their slaughter. Also, the warning it gives you about a gamepad is true. I played through it with a keyboard, and it hurt. It is possible, but a gamepad is a lot less painful. There even is a half decent plot to the story, so thats worth an effort. I would 100% recommend grabbing it on sale during the winter sale if you enjoy a challenging game, or just want to burn some time.

Big hype, still good.

Abomb7894 | Dec. 11, 2012 | Review of Guild Wars 2 Digital Edition NA (1) - PC

After logging 2000 hours into the original guild wars, I really wanted to get Guild Wars 2. After the initial hype, the game really died. Currently, PvE areas are pretty empty, minus a few areas used to get events and rewards. Doing normal exploration and events is possible in low levels due to solo ability, but in the end area, its near impossible to do it without a group now. PvP last time I checked took forever to log into, so I never experienced much of it, though I have heard promising stories. I personally did not like the story much, there were too many options, and it felt like I had 3 options to repeat over and over again, and it got too repetitive with the same layout. But alas, it is a good game. I regret getting it for the $60 I paid, but it is worth some money. The big thing this game has is the promise of expansions and no monthly subscriptions. The game is based around PvP more than PvE, as it wants to be an esport. Overall, the game is beautiful. You won't be disappointed with it if you don't hold it up to the hype that it had. It is not a whole new MMO, it just takes some steps in a new direction.

Pretty good Indie Game

Abomb7894 | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Bastion - PC

If you're looking for an RPG with a huge amount of action and explosions, this game is not for you. The art in this game is amazing, along with the narration and story. The controls are simple enough and the game play is fluid and easy to latch onto. It does become repetitive with you doing the same thing over and over again for a bit, but each area has different enemies and challenges, lasting just long enough so you don't get too bored. I honestly though it would even be short, but it turns out its a long game with plenty of replay value and engagement. This indie game is worth it.

Entertaining and Hilarious Game

Abomb7894 | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Saints Row The Third - PC

After watching some videos from this game, I just had to buy it. It seemed to fun and hilarious to play, and it was indeed! The game is such a good way to spend time. From phallic weapons to a car that breathes fire, this game is crazy. The plot is entertaining enough, and has a few forks to allow for some choices and re-playability. It isn't a hard game however, it just is for fun. Its basically GTA except funnier and has more adult content. Also, the multilayer in this game is amazing. There are also a huge amount of ways to customize your character to make him or her look unique and special. This game always goes on sale, along with a lot of the DLC, and you should buy it if you're looking for a game to blow some stress and have a good laugh.

Probably the funniest game I've played

Abomb7894 | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Borderlands 2 NA post - PC

Whether its handsome jack being his usual funny evil self, or claptrap being the usual loser he is, this game is hilarious. With a whole second mode to play through and several classes to play, this game offers plenty of content. The big draw to this game is the multi-player with a friend. Me and my roommate both bought this game and had so much fun playing it. He spends hours and hours farming legendaries, meanwhile I just laugh at all the jokes and easter eggs hidden in the game. In all honesty, I felt the actual game was fairly short, even when I beat all the side quests, and I didn't want to play through it a second time too much, as nothing really changed except enemy strengths. That could just be me. All in all, a good game, and definitely pick it up and play with some friends.

Best Sonic Game

Abomb7894 | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Sonic Adventure 2 - PC

This game was my child hood. When I saw it came to the PC, I was go happy to purchase it, as I lost my memory card for my Game cube. In all honesty, if you're not a Sonic fan, you probably won't like it. When I actually watch the story and plot, I find so many things laughable. But hey, I love the game play and especially the chao garden. As far as the game play goes, it is a direct port. It runs fine on my computer, if I remember correctly I had a few instances where it dropped in FPS, but I doubt it was the game. The controls on a keyboard aren't too bad, I get used to them. A controller is probably definitely better for game play. It definitely takes some time to beat,180 emblems. If you can get multi player with a friend, it adds a whole other dimension of fun. For $10, buy it. Good game, good price.

A good buy for the right price!

Abomb7894 | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Deus Ex Human Revolution (1) - PC

Deus Ex Human Revolution is definitely a good buy, for the right price. My friend recommended it to me during a sale and I had never heard of the series. I never played Deus Ex before, so I was not sure I wanted this. The plot is pretty good, with some nice twists and turns here and there. The game play is whats pretty neat. You can either go lethal or nonlethal for the whole game, even not killing anyone except some bosses. However, nonlethal seems to give more experience and added bonuses than lethal. I personally ran through it mostly nonlethal, but used lethal when I needed to. The amount of customization, through augments, weapons, and even how the story plays out and your reaction to it improves the game amazingly. If this ever goes on sale, definitely buy it. $30 is not a bad price for it, but I found that it is about a 15 hour game more or less for one play through. If it ever goes on sale for 50% off, definitely grab it. Good game.
