Great Improvement on an Already Great Game

AdmiralBay | May 1, 2014 | Review of Portal 2 (1) - PC

Portal 1 was a fantastic game. It had an innovative concept, a great story, and very fun gameplay. It was one of my personal favorites. The only problem with it was that it had little replay value. But overall it was fantastic and i wasn't sure how they were able to follow it. Then i played Portal 2, and i was amazed by how greatly they were able to improve on it. The game had the same great gameplay as the first one, but they were able to expand on it and make it even better with new concepts to help complete the puzzles. The story was even better than the first one and way more replay value was added to the game, including a coop mode you can play online or locally, and the ability to download user made stages directly through the game. Oveall i can't recommend this game enough. You'll play the story multiple times and play many of the user created levels. It's still not too long of a game, but it's a game worth playing.

Definitely worth a play

Portal is one of my favorite games of all time. If you've never heard of Portal, it's a first person puzzle game with some shooter aspects, as you are given a gun that creates portals. The game has you play though experiments in using the portal gun to reach the door at the end to go to the next experiment. The gameplay is fantastic and the increasing difficulty along with the quality of the story mode will keep you playing until the end. The only problem is the end comes very fast. On my first play through, i beat the game in about three hours. However, you will more than likely want to play the story more than once, and the game includes bonus levels; levels that are far more difficult than the story ones, along with levels created by the community. Overall, i recommend you at least look into the game and consider playing it, even if you wait for a sale. You may not reach as many hours as some games will have, but the hours you spend on Portal will be some of the best ones you play in a game. I hope you enjoyed my first review :)
