Atmospheric experienceAppluq | Sept. 27, 2014 | Review of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Honestly, this game is only as good as you make it to be. These games are not for everyone, but fortunately I enjoy these experiences.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a free roam narrative experience, where you are trying to figure out the events of the world you roam.
I find it really hard to give this game a score, but I will give score according to the execution of the game. The game has BEAUTIFUL scenery and really good textures. The music and the setting go hand to hand perfectly and make the world really come to life. Immersion level is extremely high. For this I will give it the score 9/10.
If you are going to play this game, then please do yourself a favor and play it alone. Take your time, dive into the world and the story and let nothing interrupt you while you play.
Great dungeon crawlerAppluq | Sept. 27, 2014 | Review of Gauntlet™
Gauntlet is a simple dungeon crawler with 4 playable characters with different skills and talents. The object of the game is to kill the enemies, loot and eat. The game isn't really long, but offers a lot of replayability with the harder difficulties.
All in all, simple concept and great execution, add friends in CO-OP for maximum fun.
One of the best FPSes of 2013Appluq | Sept. 3, 2014 | Review of Metro: Last Light Redux (EU)
The dark tunnels of metro are infested with mutants, communists, nazis and immoral bandits. Use stealth to avoid the enemies and avoid unnecessary killing or rush into the stations your guns blazing and kill every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on your way.
The choice is yours.
This game is extremely atmospheric. You hear the mutants growl in the dark tunnels and the illuminating spotlight of your flashlight is getting weaker. Running low on ammunition and waiting for the monsters to come out and show themselves might make you paranoid. You might even witness paranormal events, which are really creepy.
Redux version isn't really much of an improvement, but I definitely recommend getting it if you haven't already played Metro: Last Light.
Definitely worth it!Appluq | Aug. 28, 2014 | Review of Metro 2033 Redux (EU)
The first time I played Metro 2033 I thought it it was OK, but nothing special. The second time I cursed myself and realised how good game it is. Now I got the perfect excuse to buy vodka, don my gasmask and return to the Moscow's dark metro.
The original Metro 2033 was: -Immersive -Hardcore (with the ranger mode) -Spooky -CYKA BLYAT
And this "remastered" redux version? worth the money.
In the redux version everything has been polished, completely new areas have been added to encourage exploring and every other aspect of the game has been improved. Still one of the best story driven first-person shooters there are.
Excellent add-on to great gameAppluq | Sept. 23, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall
The base game is basically the same original Dishonored, but this DLC adds a whole new story campaign and cool new weapons, powers and a new playable character, Daud. The story is really interesting as it tells that a lot of things happened around Corvo that never was mentioned in the original game. This adds more depth into the Dishonored universe.
If you liked the original game, you're probably going to like this.
