Get it for the story

B1000 | Aug. 8, 2011 | Review of Mafia II dns

Mafia II is a game that had the potential to be great. Instead, it leaves you with a well-designed city with nothing fun to do.

The best thing this game offers is in it's single player cut-scenes. They are both well-scripted and have fitting voice-actors to add to the realism. The cut-scenes keep the story going and make the mundane missions worth completing - just to see what happens next.

Pick this up if you want a good story and if you don't mind the typical 'drive-to-and-back' missions.

World of Rapture

B1000 | July 30, 2011 | Review of BioShock DNS

This is a game with a great atmosphere and game design. Everything works hand in hand to create the world of 'Rapture'.

The interesting plot twists and use of specific bosses make the game not just a simple shooter. In fact, the game encourages you to set up traps, plan attacks and sneak up on enemies. You can really choose the way you go about each level, which leaves room for your own exploration.

There's a good 8-10 hours of gameplay in BioShock. Worth it's price.

Mediocre

B1000 | July 30, 2011 | Review of Dark Sector

Dark Sector is simply a forgettable title. Filled with muddy bland levels and poor game design. The selling part of this game was the boomerang blade weapon. Yet after the first 30 minutes of gameplay - the use of the blade becomes repetitive and dull. Worth picking up only if you want a short game to finish in a few hours.

Worms

B1000 | July 29, 2011 | Review of Worms Reloaded

Worms Reloaded is a very enjoyable game, especially when playing with 3 other friends.

There's a ton of level type options, weapons and a wide variety of customization. Worms can be individually dressed and named. The player is also given the option to create their own landscapes.

The landscape tool can be used to create your own levels. The only downside I have found is that it offers basic editing options. Being able to add fine details and custom textures to landscapes would've been a better addition.

Overall, it's a great game that's perfect for re-playability. It was also recently updated - which now offers better HUD and widescreen support.
