An ok game, but repetitiveBlockAgent | March 24, 2015 | Review of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition
Lost Planet Colonies is a game with a good original premise, but just isnt executed well. It does have decent graphics considering it originally came out around 5 years ago. The gameplay is fun at first, but then becomes repetitive. Except for the bosses at the end of each level, the game has you doing the same thing every level: go from point a to point b killing the same monsters and soldiers. The story is very weak as well. This is a "pick it up when it's on sale" kind of game.
Fun with a friend, ok by yourselfBlockAgent | March 16, 2015 | Review of Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light
This game is really fun with a friend either locally or online. It is just ok by yourself though. By yourself, the puzzles are very easy (they are made differently than the coop mode), and you feel very alone and like nothing you are doing matters. With a friend, you have to work together to get over obstacles, avoid traps and to win the game. This is where the game shines. Only one problem...you have to know someone to play with them. The multiplayer lobby does not work and will never find any games. The only way to play coop not locally is to set up a coop game inside the game, then invite a steam friend to play from steam's interface. So if you don't know someone else with the game, you will be stuck playing alone. The graphics are good as is the audio. The game is polished and does not crash. Overall a good build.
Draws you in quicklyBlockAgent | March 16, 2015 | Review of Life is Strange - Episode 1
Life is Strange is a story driven mystery/thriller/drama/adventure game that draws you in quickly and makes you unable to put it down. There's always that feeling of "i wonder what happens next". The story is out there, yet not too far and it is done in a very believable way. The graphics are very good, but the faces of characters in cutscenes are a little odd looking and their lips don't always follow the dialog you are hearing perfectly. The audio is excellent and the voice acting is pretty good. The character development in this game rivals really good movies. You feel bonded with all of the characters and when you need to make a decision involving them, you actually feel like you care how it will affect them. The only things that keeps me from giving this game a perfect score are the face animations and the face that the game is coming out in episodes at 6 week intervals...It's so good that I want to play it all now!
An ok RTS gameBlockAgent | March 16, 2015 | Review of Supreme Commander 2
Supreme Commander 2 is a well made, well polished game. The graphics are good, the audio is good, even the cutscenes are good. But it is just an ok game in my mind because of two things: 1: Its very overcomplicated. Things are should have been simple are stuck behind layers of menus, a long list of key combos you are expected to memorize and some commands that should be able to be automated are not. 2: The enemy severely overpowers you no matter how much you upgrade or research, so expect some frustration when you send a massive battalion to fight a small group of fighters (expect to lose 2/3 of your battalion).
These two things hold the game back from being better than it could have been.
Fun game but small lasting appealBlockAgent | March 16, 2015 | Review of Damned
Damned is a game that can be approached two ways: 1. A scary game that is played with little communication OR 2.A funny game played with loudmouth friends out to get each other. Both ways will provide you with a ton of fun.
To address the biggest concern of anyone considering buying this game, the online community is a decent size and I always found at least 20 games going on at any given time. Damned is a simple game with simple rules and that is what it needed to be. It controls and play just like you think it would. The only downside to that simplicity is lasting appeal. The game has around 12 environments, but the objective is always the same and the exact same thing needs to be done for either side to win. I played it with total enjoyment for around 2 weeks, but then started to get tired of doing the same thing over and over again. The game also crashes to the desktop more than it should. For every hour you play, expect at least 1 mid-game crash. Overall, if you want a genuinely fun multiplayer experience for a few weeks, pick this up.
An amazing experienceBlockAgent | Feb. 14, 2015 | Review of Mind: Path to Thalamus
Mind is one of those rare games with more "wow" moments than you can count. The environments and effects really are as amazing as they look in the trailers and screenshots. The puzzles are clever and challenging, but not overly challenging. I only had to google puzzles solutions about 4 times, so that's not too bad. The story is ok and doesn't hurt the game, but it doesn't add too much to the game other than giving you a purpose to continue solving the puzzles. That is ok though, because you will be too busy looking around at the amazing environments to notice any weakness in the story. During my playthrough I didn't come across any glitches or bugs so the game seems well polished. I strongly recommend this game to everyone regardless of your gaming preferences.
A mediocre game with a forgettable story.BlockAgent | Feb. 5, 2015 | Review of Max Payne 3
Max Payne 3 is a game where you quickly come to the conclusion that you don't care what happens to any of the characters or what happens in the story. That's because the story is pretty bad and uninteresting and the characters are all unlikable. I just found myself annoyed and wishing the game would wrap up soon.
The game also is constantly covered with really bad video effects that are jarring and make it so you can't see much in cutscenes, etc. The cutscenes are all just really awfully done.
The gameplay is ok, but this is an incredibly linear game that feels like you are just playing whack-a-mole. Other than how they look, each level in the game plays exactly the same. Nothing new is ever introduced into the gameplay to keep things interesting. You feel like you are playing the same level over and over again.
The sound is pretty good, although I had a few cutscenes during my playthough where the sound disappeared all of the sudden, then came back about 30 seconds later. Not sure what happened there.
Overall, this is a pretty bad game. In my opinion, it is only worth buying if you see it on sale for very cheap.
An entertaining stealth/beat em up gameBlockAgent | Feb. 1, 2015 | Review of Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year
Batman Arkham Asylum is an pretty entertaining stealth/beat em up type game. There is always something interesting to do and the game never gets repetitive or boring as you play through its roughly 16 hours of gameplay. It is enjoyable even if you aren't really a batman fan, but there is alot of Batman lore and backstory woven into the game that you might not get if you don't read the comics or if you haven't seen all of the movies.
The gameplay is well done, the graphics are impressive and the sound works perfectly for the game. The controls have a feeling about them that they are as good as they could be, but they still cause frustrations. Some buttons do multiple functions (and cant be changed) so it causes alot of "i didn't tell you to do that" type moments.
If you are a true Batman fan then this game is a must have, but if you don't really care all that much about batman, this game is still a game to pick up when its on sale.
My whole family loves this gameBlockAgent | Jan. 29, 2015 | Review of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered
This is an adventure game with very unique gameplay. During the non action parts of the game, you control the character like any normal video game. But instead of fighting enemies by running and shooting where you control the character, you partake in a cinematic scene where by using a simon says-like game, you make the characters actions happen. It sounds confusing is words, but it works well and makes it feel like you are controlling a movie. My entire family loves the game and they are always playing it over and over again. So this remastered version is even better. Same gameplay, story etc, just more modern graphics.
An enjoyable game, even if you didn't like the old thief gamesBlockAgent | Jan. 20, 2015 | Review of THIEF
I was never a fan of the older thief games, but this new one is fun. It has great sneaky gameplay, very good graphics and all of the missions and side quests are interesting. I never found myself bored. Instead I found myself unable to put the game down. The story isn't the best written, but it isn't bad. The individual missions are like mini stories in themselves and those mini-stories are good. The controls work well but there are a lot of buttons to remember mostly because you have a lot of abilities. The game is challenging, but not overly difficult on the normal setting, and the game also allows you to custom set aspects of difficulty which is awesome if you are great at sneaking, but are horrible at combat or vice-versa.
The only bug I have encountered while playing is citizens on the street occasionally getting stuck in talking loops where they will repeat the same sentence about 3 times back-to-back. It's very odd but it doesn't affect gameplay. Overall, this is a well-made and very fun game that I'd recommend to everyone.
A wonderful adventureBlockAgent | Jan. 11, 2015 | Review of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition
Witcher 2 is the type of game that hooks you within the first hour and makes you want to play more and more of it. I started playing it not sure if I would like it, but then I became addicted to it. It's fun, easy to pick up and all of the quests are interesting and well done. Not even the smallest side-quests feel tacked on. They all feel like fully developed chapters in the story. The graphics are great as is the sound. Gameplay works very well and combat it very fluid. Voice acting and cutscene animation are all very well done. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes action adventure games. After playing this I can't wait for The Witcher 3.
Interesting concept that works well, but lacks engagementBlockAgent | Jan. 6, 2015 | Review of Stacking
Stacking is one of those games that tries an idea that no other games have tried. It works well and the game plays fine, has good graphics, no glitches and has a really charming theme and look to it. The gameplay is solid, but lacking. I found myself getting bored with this game pretty early on. The puzzles are pretty easy to figure out and there isn't much to do outside of just those puzzles. I pushed myself to complete the game and I did, but even though the game came with DLC, i didn't play the DLC because I was tired of the game and ready to play something else. So Stacking IS a good game, just not a very entertaining one.
The complete packageBlockAgent | Dec. 30, 2014 | Review of RACE On
Race on is Race 07 plus all of it's expansion packs all in one purchase. No need to buy any other packs. The game sits halfway between Forza and it's Simbin's previous game GTR2 in simulation. It's a good game for racing fans and can be played on an xbox controller just as well as it can a steering wheel and pedal setup. The graphics in my opinion are a little worse than GTR2, which is odd. Also the sounds are not as good and the game as a whole seems less immersive. It is still a good game it is just more mainstream than Simbin's previous games.
A scary and intense gameBlockAgent | Dec. 29, 2014 | Review of Dead Space 2 (NA)
Dead Space 2 is just as scary and intense as the screenshots and videos lead you to believe. It becomes more shoot em up towards the end, but all scary games tend to do that. The story is well done, but it definetly feels like it was made to be in the middle of a trilogy. If you have not played the first one, you will be lost (story-wise) and if you don't play the 3rd, then you won't feel anything got completely resolved. The graphics are pretty good and I didn't notice any glitches. The gameplay is smooth and fun. This is an enjoyable game and I recommend you pick up the entire trilogy.
Stretching the series thin, entertaining, but disappointingBlockAgent | Dec. 24, 2014 | Review of F.E.A.R. 3
FEAR 3 is an entertaining game. It won't bore you, but it won't get you excited either. It isn't as scary as the previous 2 FEAR games and it isn't as intense either. FEAR 3 takes what the previous 2 games did and just does it again but with a story that seems like it simply exists just to make another game. The story line doesn't make much sense nor does it feel it belongs in the FEAR universe.
The graphics are pretty good and the audio is great. The gameplay is good, but not great. The shooting feels soft at times as though it was designed for a controller and badly ported over to work with a mouse.
Worth playing if you want more of FEAR, but not essential to complete the series.
A remake, but not exactly the sameBlockAgent | Dec. 23, 2014 | Review of Tomb Raider: Anniversary
While this is a "remake" of the original, it is not exactly the same game with just updated visuals and controls. It is based on the original story and goes to the same locals and has some puzzles in common, but it should be thought of as a new game where the creators said to themselves "if we were to make the original tomb raider today, how would we make it". That said, if you are thinking about buying this for nostalgia, you should probably buy Tomb Raider 1 instead. However, if you have never played the first tomb raider and are wanting to get a taste of what it was like, this game is great. The graphics are good and the controls and gameplay are up to modern Lara Croft game standards. There are some glitches here and there but they aren't too common to get annoying. The game took me around 15 hours to complete and although it was frustrating at times (all tomb raider games are) it was enjoyable.
Heard bad things, but was pleasently surprisedBlockAgent | Dec. 19, 2014 | Review of Deadfall Adventures
I saw all of the bad reviews before I bought this game when it was on sale. But after playing through it, it really isn't horribly bad as the reviews made it out to be. The graphics are on par with other modern games, it ran smoothly on my pc, the story, while very predictable, was decent, sound was well done and the gameplay isn't bad either. I enjoyed playing this game.
There is the good...now here is the bad. The cutscene character animations are awkward and unnatural, there are occasional graphical glitches, the levels are very linear, the weapons are over-the-top accurate (can hit a guy very far away while running with an old handgun), and the voice acting is sub-par and repetitive at times. Some of the puzzles are the kind that make no logical sense and nobody will ever be able to figure out unless they refer to the main character's notebook which basically tells you the answer to all the puzzles.
Despite those annoyances, the game overall is a fun time and should definetly be picked up if it is on sale.
Fun multiplayer, but not all that impressiveBlockAgent | Dec. 15, 2014 | Review of Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare
Advanced Warfare is clearly focused on multiplayer so i'll review that aspect first. There are alot of great game types and the maps are well setup for exciting action. I feel the series has taken a stride in the right direction as far as multiplayer goes with this one. The only two things I didn't like about the multiplayer are that there aren't very many maps to play on and that even though this game isn't very old, there doesn't seem to be all that many people playing it. I sat sometimes for 5 minutes waiting for the game to even find a match with half of the games modes saying there were "no potential games found". That was very disappointing.
Overall, the games graphics, although light-years ahead of Ghosts terrible graphics, are still not that impressive. Even maxed out, alot of the textures seem low resolution and blurred. Even with these not so great graphics, max settings bogged my pc down some whereas other games I own with much better graphics run smooth at max settings. The sound design is excellent.
Gameplay-wise, the exo-suits are a blast to play in. They give you an aspect to the game that makes running around from one objective to the next a blast instead of a chore. The movement in this game is the most memorable and fun part of it. The Story is pretty straight forward and easily predictable to the point where 5 minutes in you can guess everything that will happen as well as how it will end. Nothing new here.
So if you like fast paced and intense fps multiplayer games, pick this one up, you will like it.
Wow! One of the most intense and hard to put down games ever!BlockAgent | Dec. 1, 2014 | Review of Betrayer
Betrayer is one of the most intense and scary games I have ever played. I have played Amnesia, Dead Space, etc and none of those compare to this at all. Betrayer generates suspense naturally and makes you nervous doing just about anything in the game (even if doing a thing has not caused anything bad to happen in the past). This game glues you to the screen in a way that is special. You are nervous and scared to progress, yet you can't help but desire to explore further into uncharted territory. Betrayer has an amazing visual style as you can see from the screenshots (the color levels can be adjusted if you don't like the black and white look) but what isn't mentioned in the game's description is the audio. It is fantastic.
The sound honestly is half of what made me nervous and scared while playing. The sound of the bells and their effect especially are truly frightening. Sound is a big part of this game so a good set of speakers or headphones will make this game even more bone-chilling.
The gameplay is great. The weapons feel clunky but they are supposed to. You are using bow and arrows, muskets and colonial-era pistols. Those were very clunky weapons. Betrayal is not a fragfest game, it is a solid survival horror game. You can choose to assault any enemies you come across or you can sneak past them, the choice is yours.
I absolutely love this game and it is hard for me to picture anyone not liking it. Well worth every penny.
A sometimes clumsy shooter with a great storyBlockAgent | Nov. 24, 2014 | Review of The Darkness II
The Darkness 2 is a first-person shooter thats adds a unique element to the genre. You possess 2 demon arms that you can use in addition to your guns to defeat your enemies. Using these demons arms however is often clumsy and they are pretty inaccurate weapons. You end up just button mashing hoping that you hit something. The atmosphere and story are two areas where this game truly shines. The story takes a little bit to get going, but once it does, it grabs you and keeps you glued through the end. The atmosphere is dark and really does feel like a comic book. Everything from the level design to the characters are really memorable and I did enjoy playing this game despite the demon arms awkwardness. Worth picking up if you are looking for around 8 hours of dark entertainment,
Good game if you like Greek MythologyBlockAgent | Nov. 11, 2014 | Review of Rise of the Argonauts
Rise of the Argonauts is a game that those who like Greek Mythology will find enjoyable. If you don't have an interest in that, then you may want to skip this one. The game has simple gamplay that is just adequetly fun and has many glitches throughout it, both graphical and audio. At some parts of the game, the audio messes up and makes all of the characters sound like slow motion robots. This happened to me about every 10 to 15 minutes and lasted anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. I'm not sure if this happens to other players though. That said, I enjoy Greek Mythology so I did enjoy the story and the adventure. The game has a high adventure spirit and never gets boring. The game was the perfect length (12 hours) and ended just when you were ready to wrap it up and move on.
Feels like you have played it beforeBlockAgent | Oct. 19, 2014 | Review of GRID 2
Grid 2 is a game that brings nothing you haven't done a hundred times before to the table. The graphics are good and the programming seems solid, but the gameplay and sound are just par. There is also a ton of product placement throughout the games tracks, cutscenes and menus which can get pretty blatant and annoying at times. The cars handle very arcade-like and don't much resemble real life. For example, a 1960's mustang handles about the same as a mid-90's skyline in this game. Overall, the game is decent entertainment for a low price, but it isn't something you'll feel the need to tell your friends about.
Visually stunning, but ok gameplayBlockAgent | Oct. 17, 2014 | Review of Don't Starve
Don't Starve is a striking game. It wows you with it's hand drawn, paper cutout style the moment you launch the game. The art of it is honestly my favorite part. The gameplay on the otherhand, isn't that great. It is one of those games where you start out, make a good amount of progress, then make a small mistake that ends in your death, then you have to start all over again. This was very frustrating to me. I died several times at night because i took longer than 5 seconds to craft a campfire. If you enjoy very challenging, everything is on the line at all times type of games, there is no way you not love this game. It just didn't do it for me.
A suprisingly good beat'em up platformerBlockAgent | Oct. 14, 2014 | Review of Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
This is a surprisingly good game. It has a good story, great action, satisfying platforming and pretty good graphics. Being a budget title, it does have to have a flaw though. There are noticeable graphical glitches throughout the entire game. Things like characters' feet going through the ground and plants flickering into and out of existence happen a lot. I also encountered some odd glitches that made me have to reload from the last checkpoint. Fortunately, the checkpoints are aplenty. Overall this is a fun game for it's budget price that honestly gives some AAA games a run for their money.
Short but SweetBlockAgent | Oct. 13, 2014 | Review of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days
This game is short, but it is still a great game. The camera style (think handheld personal camera uploaded to youtube) works really well. The story is pretty good as is the script. The amount of detail in the city environments is pretty amazing. It's hard to find games where the city actually feels alive, but Kane & Lynch 2 pulls it off wonderfully. The graphics in this game are pretty good as well. As far as gameplay goes, the firefights are intense and action packed. Guns seem to have true to life accuracy which is rare in games these days. After playing I have mostly positive things to say about this game.
My only two complaints are that the ending left me disappointed and that there were a couple of odd glitches that happened in key points of the game that made me have to reload from the last checkpoint (thankfully checkpoints are aplenty).
One of the worse games I have ever playedBlockAgent | Oct. 11, 2014 | Review of Crash Time 2
Crash Time 2 is a mess of a game. The graphics are just ok, the storyline is bad, the driving is lifeless, the voice acting and script are awful and the programming is full of bugs. There really are no good aspects of this game. It is a german made game so all money is all in german without any way to change it. The accents are strong and the voice acting sounds like the actors and actresses just completed the basic level of Rosetta Stone a week before recording. On several missions I was doing exactly as the game was instructing me to do when all of the sudden, a glitch in programming happens and a AI bad guy car goes AWOL and veers away to nowhere, even though the bad guys objective is near me. Because the bad guy has glitched away, I am now deemed "too far" from him and the mission is failed.
The game starts out by having the narrator refer to the city in which you are driving as "the game area". That's should be your first warning sign. The second warning sign is the slew of tailing missions the game starts you out with. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one.
Well animated but typical indie stuffBlockAgent | Oct. 11, 2014 | Review of The Sun at Night
The Sun at Night is a striking game. The animation and artwork are great. As far as side scrolling indie games go, this one is eye candy. But once you stop staring at it and start playing it, you quickly come to the realization that the gameplay is just standard indie fare. The game doesn't feel special, it just feels like something you have done a hundred times before. On a more positive note, this game is very well polished and is quality built. I never ran into one hiccup or glitch. Everything worked as it should. If you really enjoy all of the side scrolling indie games out there, this is a must have for you. However, if you only like an indie games when it is truly something different than anything you have ever played, you might look elsewhere,
An interesting and fun gameBlockAgent | Oct. 5, 2014 | Review of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (NA)
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is a fun game to play. There are many reasons for that. The missions are all interesting, feel special and are different enough that they don't ever feel repetitive. The graphics are very good and the voice acting is good as well. Alot of hard work went into this game and it shows. There are only a couple of complaints I have about this game. The controls can be cumbersome at times to the point where your character will jump over a wall into enemy fire when you simply pushed the duck button. Also, rarely, but enough, one of your fellow agents will get caught behind a door and it will cause him to not be able to fight with you for a while until he respawns later in the mission. Overall though, this game is fun, keeps your attention until the end and will provide you with around 15 hours of enjoyment.
Great for warm fuzzies, not great if you play newer games beforeBlockAgent | Sept. 23, 2014 | Review of Half-Life 2
Half-life 2 is a game a just recently tried because of how much long-time pc gamers constantly talk about how amazing it is. I never played it when it first came out and I have played tons of games since that date. Because of that, half-life 2 seemed boring to me and was nothing I had not scene a thousand times before, but done better in other games. To Half-life 2's credit, when it came out, a lot of this stuff had never been done before, or at least not like this. It was truly innovative. So for those who played it when it first came out, 100% buy this game to have the warm fuzzies. But for those who have not played it but have played modern games, this game will seem like nothing special. You will feel like Half life 2 takes you down narrow corridors with gameplay that is extremely linear and that the physics are awful and completely unrealistic. The graphics now feel dated, but aren't too bad. The sound is kind of bad but i'm sure was great back then. So this isn't a bad review for the game, just a not so great review of a play through by a gamer who never played it when it was really something that stood out.
A fun little point and click adventureBlockAgent | Sept. 19, 2014 | Review of Metal Dead
Metal dead is an interesting game. It's funny, well written and well thought out. The art has a very fun look to it and adds to the humor. The story is pretty good and the gameplay is typical point-and-click fashion. This game is pretty short (about 1 1/2 hours to complete it the first time through). The puzzles are challenging and really make you think, but aren't impossibly hard.
Overall I enjoyed it. I never got bored and I laughed quite a few times.
A fun cart-style racer...but with planes!BlockAgent | Sept. 12, 2014 | Review of SkyDrift
Skydrift is a great little game to play when you have some time to kill. It's fast, trilling, and careless fun. The graphics are really great for such a low priced game (think AAA game quality). One of the things that makes this game even more fun is the AI of the other pilots...they really are smart. They play just like real people would and will sometimes drop mines right where the power ups are, will wait just until you are about to finish then hit you with missiles, and they will try to evade your missiles. I definitely recommend this well polished racer if you like games such as Mario Kart, Sonic and All-Stars Racing.
Fun and unique, yet unpolishedBlockAgent | Sept. 12, 2014 | Review of Contrast
Contrast is a fun, arty, and unique game. It has an original feel to it and looks very pretty the entire way through. The game is only about 5 hours long, but tells a great story and you have fun the whole time.
However, the one thing that keeps this game from getting a score in the 90s from me is the programming. The game has many glitches in it that should have been easily spotted by the developers. From characters being able to walk through each other, to your character getting stuck in parts of the environment (which causes you to have to load your last save point), to certain camera angles allowing you to see inside your character, to your character floating above the ground sometimes, this game really needed some more polish before being released. Another thing that cause me to ding the score was that you cannot manually save your game and the save points are way too infrequent. When I got stuck in the environment via a glitch and had to reload my most recent save I had to replay 10 minutes worth of puzzles.
This game is a good game and is absolutely worth playing, just know what to expect and you will have fun with it.
A captivating and interesting game all the way throughBlockAgent | Sept. 10, 2014 | Review of Lifeless Planet
Lifeless Planet grips you from the opening cutscene and doesn't let go until its over. The game is full of "oh wow" moments where you just have to stop, look around and take in the environment. The game is very atmospheric. I loved how the game gave me multiple ways to get to where I was going. I never felt like I was trapped in a linear, small world. I always felt like I had the entire planet of Mars to explore. The game has a great story of which I cannot tell you anything about because..you know...spoilers. I recommend this game to everyone as it is a solid and fun astronaut adventure.
Very intense and suspensful shooterBlockAgent | Sept. 8, 2014 | Review of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
FEAR 2 is a game that keeps you on edge the entire time. It has several moments of frantic panic and several moments of frights. It is action packed as well. The game changes up gameplay often enough to not get repetitive and to keep you interested. The story is very much tied to the 1st FEAR game and leads into the 3rd. If you do not play the 1st FEAR before this one, you will be lost, so pick up the 1st one as well. Overall this was a fun, well polished game and has me looking forward to playing the 3rd one.
Amazing graphics and fluid controls, just what a BBall game needsBlockAgent | Sept. 1, 2014 | Review of NBA 2K14 (NA)
NBA2k14 is a great game. It has nailed down the two essential elements every basketball game needs: great graphics and very fluid controls. From the first moment you take it for a spin you understand the controls. They are very easy to figure out and they work so smoothly. You are blown away by the level of detail and the quality of the graphics as well. This is definitely the best looking basketball game ever made to date. The training camp and road to greatness game modes are fun and give the game some more depth than just playing single matchups can provide. Any basketball fan or even just someone like me who enjoyed facing off with siblings in basketball games back in the 90s will like this game. But be prepared...this game is obsessed with Lebron James. Everything from the menus to the intro to the career mode is all centered around him. If you really do not like him, then you will quickly get annoyed by how much you have to look at him.
Old school graphics + great storytelling = a winning combinationBlockAgent | Aug. 31, 2014 | Review of To The Moon
I normally don't like these retro graphics indie games, but I bought this one based on other people saying that it had such a great story...and I am glad I did. This game is a gem. The gameplay is simple and very easy (as are the puzzles), but the story is so good, that the simplicity works. That's because the story draws you in so much that during gameplay, you just want to get to more of the story. If the gameplay was complex and time consuming, you would get annoyed at the big gaps in storytelling. This game was done right and it is obvious. I highly recommend this game to those who don't play games because they like a button mashing challenge, but because they like having great experiences.
A different kind of multiplayer shooterBlockAgent | Aug. 31, 2014 | Review of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (NA)
Garden Warefare is a fresh take on the multiplayer shooter genre. It definitely looks, plays and vibes different than the usual troops in the desert war games that flood the market. It has a lot of personality too. All your favorite characters are included as well. While the game makes you happy in some ways, it disappoints in others. The controls feel very clunky and cumbersome. This makes aiming and dodging enemy attacks very slow and difficult. Despite the games different personality, there are no unique game play modes. There are just the usual capture the flag, team deathmatch, and hold the base for longer than your opponent modes. I think this game will be a hit with players 12 or younger, while it will leave adult gamers a little short handed.
If you like old school sidescrolling fun, you'll like this!BlockAgent | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of Ethan: Meteor Hunter
Ethan Meteor Hunter is a classic super nintendo side-scroller with pretty graphics and better physics. It also has some unique gameplay ideas withi it that I will not spoil for you. It really wasn't my cup of tea, but if you really like side-scrollers such as awesomnauts, dustforce and games like those, you will be happy to have this one in your collection.
Decent game but with an extreme difficulty curveBlockAgent | Aug. 8, 2014 | Review of Company of Heroes
Company of Heroes is a decent RTS game with good graphics and pretty good gameplay. It is very polished and well put together as I never saw any glitches during my play through. This game does however have an extreme difficulty curve. The first 2 to 3 missions are challenging, but manageable. The 4th mission and on though, are very difficult, even on the easiest settings. I found myself being obliterated over and over again. So if you like very challenging RTS games, pick this one up, you will love it. But if you like RTS games, but are not an absolute pro, you may have trouble progressing very far into this one.
An amazingly immersive and historically correct open world gameBlockAgent | July 5, 2014 | Review of Mafia II
Mafia 2 is such a beautifully done open world game. It immerses you in 1940's new york city with a ton of accuracy. Nothing seems out of place, everything makes you think "I bet this is really what it was like". From the fact that most residents have accents due to being new to the country, to the billboards, to the music, everything makes you feel like you are experiencing history.
The world of mafia 2 is one that is impressively alive. Every person you see on the streets seems to not just be there to walk by, but that they are living thier lives. I saw a person slip on a patch of ice as I drove by, I stopped on the side of the road to help a woman fix her car, I listened to guys shouting up at a window to a man's wife trying to get her to let him go out drinking with them. This is the level of detail and aliveness the world has. Grand Theft Auto should take note. The gameplay is great as well. The shooting, sneaking and driving all feel spot on and are never cumbersome.
The game runs well and doesn't seem to have any major glitches. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes open world games. Even if you don't want to play the missions, just exploring the world and interacting with it are worth the purchase price.
A beautiful masterpiece!BlockAgent | July 4, 2014 | Review of ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West™ Premium Edition (NA)
Enslaved really is one of those must-play titles. The graphics are gorgeous, the story keeps you glued to the screen from start to finish, the voice acting is top notch, and the sound (both music and effects) are wonderful. The gameplay is natural and smooth and very rewarding. You feel like you truely accomplished something great even after taking down just a common enemy. The game also changes your tasks enough that it never feels repetitive or tiring. I really cannot thing of one thing I did not like about this game. If you are into action adventure games, there is no way you won't like this one.
Starts out scary, but quickly becomes a shoot-em-upBlockAgent | July 3, 2014 | Review of Dead Space (NA)
I'll start out by saying that this game is fun. I enjoyed playing it and got into it. The graphics are great, the gameplay is good, and it has alot of unique and inventive features. The story is a little thin, but good enough to keep you going. The game starts out as a terrifying experience where you are afraid to look around every corner. I loved that. But then after about the first hour of play, the game quickly became an action oriented shoot-em-up. For me that stripped away all scariness to where even the jump scares that the game was trying to do didn't spook me at all. I wish it could have been scary all the way through, but it was saved by being a good shooter too.
A fun and simple puzzlerBlockAgent | June 30, 2014 | Review of Puddle
Puddle is a simple game. There are only two control keys to it...tilt the screen left and tilt the screen right. That's all you need to splash, spill and slide the various chemicals in Puddle around. The game is fun and casual. You can sit down and fill a free 10 minutes with fun or you can get really into the rhythm of it and play for hours. The gameplay changes enough from level to level to avoid repetition. I usually get bored with puzzlers after a while, but Puddle kept the levels fresh and exciting. I did have a problem where I Puddle would freeze during the initial loading screen when playing it in windows 7, but since I have a dual boot system with xp and 7, I fired the game up in xp and it works perfectly fine there. Not sure if it was just a setting issue of what.
A great destructive racing game, but could have been even betterBlockAgent | June 25, 2014 | Review of Flatout
Flatout is a fun racing game. That has to be said. The physics, the cars, the tracks and the destruction are all great. The AI drivers are smart and realistic. They make mistakes from time to time and are not afraid to bash into each other as they fight for a better position. This game is very fun and addictive. The destruction derby bowls and races are my favorite part. One thing that I don't like about this game is the drivers that launch out of the car during big (and sometimes very little) crashes. It takes a very great and believable game and makes it cartoony. Every time it happened I just shook my head. Had they left that one element of the game out, I would have given this game a 100. Sometimes your driver will get shot out of the car (visually glitching the whole time might I add) even when you very gently scrape the back of your car against a guardrail. This can be so frustrating when you are on the final lap and about to win. But don't let that stop you from picking up this wonderful game.
A fun game that will have you playing around for hoursBlockAgent | June 25, 2014 | Review of Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers
This is one of those rare games that even though it only takes about 2 hours to play through, you spend about 8 or 9 hours doing so because interacting with the environment is so much fun. Cutting, rocketing and grappling pieces of the environment was a ton of fun. Basically anything you see is yours to destroy in any way you see fit.
The game itself is pretty addictive and will have you saying to yourself "just one more level" over and over again if you play it late at night. The game also has a fun and charming art style to it that adds to the enjoyment.
A cute and challenging indie sidescrollerBlockAgent | June 25, 2014 | Review of PID
This game has allot of unique ideas floating around inside it. It was a little too challenging for me though and I gave up about 1/3 of the way through it. The graphics are good, the controls are spot on and it pulls off allot of platformer elements very well. If you are into challenging indie sidscrollers, this game will suit you well.
A console port that while good, is also bad.BlockAgent | June 11, 2014 | Review of Dark Sector
Dark Sector is a game that is brutally unforgiving from the very start. Within the first 10 minutes of playing it, you will fight a boss, swarms of 20 bad guys all raining down gunfire on you at one, and seemingly endless hordes of monsters spawning very close all around you. I found it to be very difficult. The human bad guys are the usual whack-a-mole type though. To make it even harder, the controls are terrible. You character doesn't always do what you are telling him to with your fingers. Sometimes he will flip out from behind cover into a thousand bullets. Things such as switching between weapons become an unnecessary challenge. During my playing of the game, no matter what screen resolution I set the game to, I could never get the game image to fit my normal 1080p screen. It cuts off the outer edge which cuts off your ammo count display etc. The plot in Dark Sector is very thin. Alot of the time you are just going through the very linear levels killing bad guy after bad guy not sure of why they are attacking you, what is your end objective, etc.
So now for the good. The graphics are pretty good, considering the game came out for consoles in 2010, and the theme of the game has a unique twist on it. Having the bladed glaive is a nice fresh feature, but in my opinion is oversold in the game's trailer. I ended up using the guns more as they felt more effective against enemies and were plentiful.
So the game is good for a few reasons, but bad for other reasons, hence the score of 64/100.
Classic duke attitude, not much substance.BlockAgent | June 10, 2014 | Review of Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project features all of the 1 liners that made duke famous in Duke Nukem 3D. And if you like Duke, that is a plus. Unfortunetly, the game lacks any substance. A storyline is barely there. The graphics are bad, even for 2002 standards, and the gameplay and levels are boring. I was hoping this one would be fun and remind me of old school duke, but instead it doesn't at all.
A great classic era first person shooterBlockAgent | May 28, 2014 | Review of F.E.A.R
F.E.A.R. is a game that I never got around to playing until 2014, but I'm glad I finally got to. The graphics now look outdated and the gameplay definitely has that "classic" feel to it, but it is still an enjoyable experience. If you have never played it before, you will witness all of the new concepts it brought to the table that are now in every modern first person shooter. The story was a little disappointing and it felt like there could have been more substance to it, but what was there was still good and creepy. It is worth picking up if you enjoy first person shooters.
Found it to be boringBlockAgent | May 17, 2014 | Review of Rush Bros.
I thought this game was boring and just dull. Nothing about it was fun nor challenging. The graphics were ok for an indie platformer, but that doesn't mean much with this style of game. The music wasn't bad though and for a music focused game, that is very important. I guess it is just not my type of game.
If you like indie platformers you may like this gameBlockAgent | May 17, 2014 | Review of Awesomenauts
If you are a big time fan of indie 2D platformers, then this game will probably bring you alot of enjoyment. I however, don't find them that much fun as I am used to AAA games such as Far Cry 3, Skyrim, and Call of Duty. I found this game to be boring and like most other indie platformers, like a game that could have been made for super nintendo. So this game is great for some, terrible for others.
A breathtaking story, but not really a gameBlockAgent | May 17, 2014 | Review of Dear Esther
The visuals and story of Dear Esther are great. The story is very touching. The environment and visuals of the game are superb. Gameplay, however, is non existent. All you can do in this game is walk around in a very linear fashion. Approach this game as though you are going to listen to a story read to you as you look around a beautiful island and you will know what to expect.
A gorgeous and entertaining open world action gameBlockAgent | May 4, 2014 | Review of Just Cause 2
Before I tell you how wonderfully good this game is, I have to mention that this game's graphics are insanely amazing. Half of the fun in this game is sightseeing and your jaw will drop the first time you see a sunset as you fly over a beach in a helicopter. So now for the game's other aspects. The gameplay is solid. The controls work great (especially on an xbox 360 controller). The story is interesting and action packed. And most importantly, the game is tons of fun. There is so much to do in this game from exploring to running faction missions, to the main story, to creating choas. It's all fun and never gets boring even after 20+ hours of play time. I highly recommend this game to everyone.
Disappointingly bad, buy battlefield 4 instead.BlockAgent | May 3, 2014 | Review of Call of Duty: Ghosts NS
I was expecting this game to be an even better Modern Warfare 3...but I was wrong. So wrong in fact that after 30 minutes of playing it I could no longer take the punishment of playing it and uninstalled it from my pc. The gameplay is clunky, the graphics are terrible even at max settings (looks pretty similar to call of duty 4), and it has multiplayer matchmaking problems galore. This game was so disappointing. If you are looking for a great looking and great playing multiplayer shooter, go elsewhere.
A great game for kids!BlockAgent | April 25, 2014 | Review of Psychonauts
This game is a 3d platformer that reminds me of the days of the Nintendo 64 3d platformers. The gameplay is enjoyable and the game as a whole is well done and creative. As I was playing it I found myself a little embarrased anytime my wife would walk into the room because this game, from the characters to the story to the graphics, is obviously geared towards kids. While playing the game, I felt like I needed to be 8 years old for it not to seem weird or embarrassing that I was playing it. Watch some modern day cartoons on the disney channel to get a preview for how it feels to play this game. Overall a mildly decent game though.
Good graphics and gameplay, but boringBlockAgent | April 25, 2014 | Review of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
This game is designed to make you feel like you are playing very pretty version of an old-school super nintendo side scrolling platformer. From collecting floating jewels that serve no purpose to jumping onto bad guys to kill them, it is old school gameplay completely. If that is what you like, then this will be a great game for you. But while I do enjoy some side scrollers such as The Cave and Trine 2, this game was very boring to me because it didn't present any new ideas or takes on anything. I felt like I had done all of this already back when I was a kid. Nothing struck me as clever. The game also barely has a story at all. Hopefully this review gives you an idea as to what you should expect from this game.
Interesting maps that let you see history up closeBlockAgent | April 21, 2014 | Review of Medal of Honor: Warfighter - Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack (NA)
These maps are a great concept...maps that actually relate to the real world. While other games come out with DLC maps such as "naval base" and "deep jungle" these maps are actually focused on taking you somewhere real. That makes these maps special. I played them the first time just to explore and experience the locations, then I played to fight.
In short, very fun and special maps.
A great game for those who like a single player FPSBlockAgent | April 21, 2014 | Review of Medal of Honor Ultimate Digital Collection (NA)
I am a big fan of single player FPS games. I don't care for multiplayer. If you feel the same way, then you will love this game.
It is a fantastic single player experience that is intense, exciting and just all around wonderful. When the credits start rolling at the end you find yourself wishing there was more, not because the game is too short, but because you know that the next game on your play list can't be more fun than this game was.
The single player campaign is equal in length to Call of Duty modern warfare 2 and 3 and WAY longer than Battlefield 3 and 4. In my honest opinion, this game is better than those two series of games with the exception of Battlefield 3 and 4 being better at multiplayer.
This is a great game with alot of memorable moments and will make any FPS gamer happy.
A wonderful and intense single player experienceBlockAgent | April 21, 2014 | Review of Medal of Honor: Warfighter (NA)
You can ignore the odd PC gamer and IGN ratings that this game was given. This game is actually great.
The graphics are great (even in mid 2014), the gameplay is exciting and intense, and the gameplay itself just feels more genuine and real. While Battlefield and Call of Duty have a more arcade-like look and feel to them, this game has more of a real sensation.
The sounds, explosions, missions, everything. It all seems less hollywood blockbuster and more visceral. The game contains many "oh wow" moments and they all happen during gameplay. Unlike other shooters where you watch cool cutscenes and then play the boring levels, the "oh wow" moments happen around you as you are playing. Your actions during these moments can affect your fate as well.
The game is fun, exciting and is, in my opinion, better than the games in both the call of duty and battlefield series.
A non-open world RPG that is fun even for a LOTR non-fanBlockAgent | April 21, 2014 | Review of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North
I'll start off by saying I don't like the Lord of the Rings, nor the Hobbit or any of that. But I found this game entertaining and fun. That says a lot.
It is a linear action game with RPG elements woven deep through-out it. The graphics are good and I didn't encounter any glitches of any kind. The game was well thought out and it shows. The game always seems to throw in new and interesting encounters with the enemy.
This game was surprisingly good to me.
Steathiness required. Entertaining and tough.BlockAgent | April 14, 2014 | Review of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory™ Other
This game is an xbox classic. If you remember playing and loving the splinter cell games back then, you will love reliving it again on PC. The graphics are not so great since this was on the original xbox. The controls are clunky and this makes the game very tough. The mission elements tend to get a little repetitive after a while also. The environments are very different from mission to mission and the game will give you around 10 to 15 hours of gameplay your first playthough. So if you have fond memories of this game on the original xbox, pick it up on PC. If you are used to playing modern day games and have never played the older splinter cell games, you might be disappointed with this one (pick up Splinter Cell Blacklist instead).
An artistic and engaging game, but very short.BlockAgent | April 12, 2014 | Review of Shelter
Shelter has a very unique and enchanting art design. Little bits and pieces you will notice while playing the game will make you smile. The gameplay is engaging and the controls work well. This game makes you truly worry about your badger babies. The game is very short though. The first time I played through it I beat it with 2 out of 5 babies surviving and it only took me 1.3 hours. The game runs smoothly but has some weird flickering sometimes between levels and at the ending scene where you see your desktop for a split second a few times. Odd, but it never crashes the game.
A wonderfully fun game!BlockAgent | April 7, 2014 | Review of Castle of Illusion
This is a great game, especially so if you remember the original.
The levels are all fun and have no boring parts at all. The graphics are great and it runs very smoothly. This is a great game for both kids and adults. It is challenging, but not too hard. Kids will be able to progress in the game just fine. The game has unlockables such as outfits for Mickey and statues that you can build. Earning those things kept me coming back after I beat the story. My wife and I played this together by taking turns on the levels and had a blast.
It is well worth the purchase.
Not as bad as IGN and others rate it as, decently funBlockAgent | April 1, 2014 | Review of Afterfall Insanity Extended Edition
From the first moment you start playing this, it is apparent that the creators of this game took alot from Dead Space...alot. From the camera angle to effects, to even the "life guage is on your body". Alot was copied. Because of that, this game isn't that bad. The melee can be clunky at times but the graphics are good, the controls work well and story is decent. The voice acting is terrible though and little bugs here and there result in some unintentionally funny moments. The game made me jump a couple of times so that is a plus. Would I pay $40 for this game? No way. Would I buy it if it was on sale for much less and I had played through all of my other games? Yes!
Best played online, an intense but sometimes buggy experienceBlockAgent | March 22, 2014 | Review of Payday 2
As an owner of the first Payday, I knew what to expect from Payday 2. It is suspenseful, but should only be played online with others. The AI is pretty dumb, so AI teammates are terrible. Even the enemy AI can be pretty dumb. You will often find police standing right next to you, yet unable to see you. They sometimes walk through walls as well. The graphics are decent, but not great. The depth of field is better than any game I have ever played. My one wish for this game is that the robbery's and heists should be a little more realistic, but I guess that would make them less action packed.
The shooting and gameplay is what this game does well. The guns handle and fire convincingly real and you feel like you truly accomplished something when you successfully complete a heist. Unless you are just a fanatic about levelling up characters, you will probably play this game for a total of about 10-15 hours before you have played all of the missions and start to feel it getting repetitive. A good weeks worth of entertainment.
Scary but in a good wayBlockAgent | March 17, 2014 | Review of Dead Space (NA)
This game is wonderfully scary. The kind of scary that makes you creep slowly through the hallways in it and afraid of what could be lurking around every corner. It also is a blast during the action scenes. The graphics are great and the gameplay is great as well. Using v-sync, there is some lag in the controls, but using a keyboard and mouse instead of a gamepad makes the lag alot more bearable. A very fun game and recommended by me.
Another amazing racing sim by SimbinBlockAgent | March 17, 2014 | Review of Race 07: WTCC
Simbin always makes amazing sim racing games and this one is no exception. This is a must have to any racing game fan's collection. Use a wheel and pedals for immersion into the experience. The graphics are great, the sounds are beautifully realistic and the game is programmed wonderfully with no glitches or crashes. I very highly recommend this and Simbin's other racing games.
A amazing racing sim that will get your heart racingBlockAgent | March 17, 2014 | Review of GTR 2 FIA GT Racing Game
Everything from the sounds of the tires on the pavement to the switches on the dashes are perfectly realistic in this game. The cars handle like they would in real life and the racing is exciting! Graphics are very beautiful too. The racing is fun as is just tooling around in the cars doing donuts and listening to the engines rev to redline. Everything in this game is perfectly executed. Very highly recommend this to anyone who likes cars or racing.
A great, authentic vintage racing simBlockAgent | March 17, 2014 | Review of GT Legends
This game is alot of fun because of how realistic it is. I get alot of thrill racing down a strait with 20 other vintage cars all around me. The cars all handle as you would expect them to and everything seems correct and in-place. This game is a sim, so the handling and traction of the cars is very realistic. That makes this game impossible to play using a keyboard and very difficult, but doable, using a gamepad. This is a game made for pedals and a wheel. But that is the best way to enjoy it anyway. That really brings it to life. That said, the graphics are wonderful even by today's standards and this game will not disappoint any car nut.
An excellent, fun, and original game!BlockAgent | Feb. 6, 2014 | Review of LA Noire The Complete Edition
I loved playing this game from the beginning to the end. Never did it get boring or repetitive. The story is great and very intriguing and begs you to keep playing to find out what will happen next. The controls are great as well. You can tell that Rockstar Games went the extra mile to make the games environment as historically accurate as possible. I actually learned alot about 1940's LA by reading the descriptions of the landmarks when I discovered them. I highly recommend this game to everybody.
Fun game, but losing a community/servers to play onBlockAgent | Dec. 30, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 3 (NA)
I'll start off by saying that this game is alot of fun and addicting. Action packed gameplay that is alot of fun in multiplayer. I have had a blast playing over the past few weeks. The bad part is, there are not that many servers still up (around 30) and they all play the same 6 maps. There are about 20 maps in the game if you don't buy any of the expansion packs, so there are alot of maps you will never get to play at this point. Unfortunately, with Battlefield 3, you can't create your own multiplayer game without buying or renting a server, so you can't just create a game on any map and just explore it by yourself. If you don't see it in the game server list, you can't play it. Provided me about 2 weeks worth of off and on entertainment before I got bored with playing the same 6 maps over and over again. The game is excellent though, so that's disappointing.
Action packed with fun and interesting levelsBlockAgent | Dec. 19, 2013 | Review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
When I played COD4, I was disappointed, but this game, MW2 is a different story. I enjoyed playing this game. The action was intense, the environments of the levels were fun and interesting and the story kept you engaged from beginning to end. I recommend this game to everyone who enjoys first person shooters. I fun time is to be had.
A realistic sim racer or an arcade racer?BlockAgent | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of Shift 2: Unleashed (NA)
I'll start off with the good...good graphics, great effects, wonderful car interiors, fast and fun gameplay. If you like the need for speed underground games or carbon, you will love this game. However, if you are looking for a realistic racer, this might not be the game for you. The bad...arcade-like handling, the overall attitude and drifting section of the game is very teenager boy-racer, the host of the game is very annoying and EA cheaped out on the sound and made most of the cars sound the same. The cars handle great with a 360 controller, but are almost undrivable with a racing wheel and pedal setup which futher shows that this game was not made to be realistic even though EA markets it to be.
Fun, but definitely made on a low budgetBlockAgent | Dec. 8, 2013 | Review of Lucius
Lucius is a fun game and unlike other games I have played. Without wanting to give anything away, you proceed the game by claiming souls for the devil as a child who is possessed. The ways in which you do this are both gruesome and creative. But sometimes the games low budget shows through. I noticed several graphical and programming glitches while playing. None of them affected the playability of the game however. Sometimes the game doesn't give you enough instruction or help on what to do or where to go. A little more instruction or a hint feature would have been nice. The graphics are ok, nothing special, but nothing bad. Overall a decent budget game.
Fun gameplay, challenging puzzles, a great adventureBlockAgent | Sept. 22, 2013 | Review of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
This is a great adventure game, but good eye and hand coordination is needed....and rewarded. Controlling the 2 brothers can be a challenge at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will love this adventure. There are so many unique things in this game that you have not experienced in a game before. The story is great, the graphics are pretty, and the adventure is real. Pick this one up, but make sure you have a controller with 2 control sticks on it, such as an xbox 360 controller. Otherwise it will be much harder to play. The game does have the option for you to use a keyboard if you have no other choice.
Horrifying, but I love it!BlockAgent | Sept. 17, 2013 | Review of Dead Space (NA)
This game gives you chills while you walk your character down the darkened halls of the space station. You aren't sure if you want to continue down the hall because you are afraid of what might be around the corner..but you can't help but look anyway. That's when this game grabs you and scares the heck out of you! The game is alot of fun because of that. The game has alot going for it, great graphics (even by today's standards), great sound effects and creepy music, fun gameplay and good voice acting as well. The controls and functions take a little bit to get used to, but then they are fine and become second nature. If you are looking for an intense game that will keep you creeped out and on the edge of your seat, treat yourself to this one.
Few games get my heart racing, this is one of themBlockAgent | Sept. 17, 2013 | Review of Condemned: Criminal Origins
This game made me jump quite a few times. When you least expect it, a bad guy will sneak up behind you, or pop out of a stairwell and scare you half to death. This game's combat focus mostly on melee fighting and it does that fantastically. Usually in games, when you run out of ammo and have to fight with melee weapons you get a sense of dread because the experience of is so bad. But with Condemned, you will actually find yourself preferring to use a fire ax or a crow bar rather than a handgun or shotgun. The graphics are good, but are starting to show thier age. This game is a definite must buy if you remember when this game came out and wanted to play it, but never got around to it.
Fun game with lots to exploreBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Just Cause
So much to explore! This game has a story that is nice in length and does a good job of not being repetitive. Think of it as Grand Theft Auto set in an third world latin country and you will have a sense of it. Plenty of adventure to be had here.
Excellent racing simulator, perfect for any car guy.BlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of GTR Evolution
I love this game. The graphics are amazing, the physics dead-on perfect. I highly recommend a steering wheel and pedals for this experience, but it is still very playable with a gamepad. This is like the real deal. The cars, the tracks, the sounds, all are life-like and true to real life. Gotta pick this one up if you like cars or racing, or both.
Still to this day I can't stop playingBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Battlefield 2 Complete Collection (NA)

Fun game even if it didn't live up to the hypeBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Duke Nukem Forever
This is a Duke game through and through, make no mistake. A victim of too much hype prior to release, possibly. This game is very fun and humourous just like the original. Any duke fan will have a good time playing through it.
Great game, a blast to play!BlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Operation Flashpoint: Red River
This game looks great and plays wonderfully. I had an absolute blast playing through it. It is challenging, yet not overly hard on the normal difficulty setting. This is one of the few games where, for the most part, your AI squad mates actually are intelligent and help you fight the enemy. This game has exciting and never repetitive missions that you embark on. This game feels very realistic. Especially so in the viability of the enemy in the terrain and the amount of damage your character can take before being knocked down and needing medical care. I highly recommend this game to everyone.
Even better than the originalBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Shank 2
The equal to Shank took everything great about the original and made it even better. This was a very fun game to play through. The character unlocks and medals to earn kept me playing beyond the first play-through as well. I love the art design in this game.

This game is a fun brawler with great art design. It's challenging, fun and humorous. The action is non-stop and that makes me happy.

If you love the Grand Theft Auto series, you will love this game. With the original game and both expansions, you have alot of entertainment ahead of you. A blast to play through the story and a blast to just tool around the city causing trouble. This is a game you will be coming back and playing after beating it for the next 10 years. It takes everything great about the series, pumps up the graphics to a whole new level and never disappoints.
Beautiful graphics showcase...that's a great game as well!BlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Crysis Maximum Edition (NA)
This game was built as a graphical showpiece, that's very obvious from the very first scene of the game. But what's also obvious is that this is a great game. The gameplay is fantastic and fun. The objectives and story are never boring. Neither is the action. Its fun and hair-raising at times. I find myself going back and playing through this game again and again for, if anything, to go sight-seeing. A must for any gamer.
Great game with great new featuresBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of BioShock® 2
First off, play the original first. You can play this without playing the first bioshock, but you won't truly appreciate #2 without having experienced #2. With that said, #2 takes all of the great elements of the first game, improves upon them, and then throws in new very cool features. Weapons, plasmids, the graphics, the level destructiveness, etc are all improved and freshened in this sequel. All the same great gameplay and storywriting skill are present in this one and that makes it another must have game for any gamer.
Great game that lives up to its legendary statusBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of BioShock (NA) - not live
Bioshock is a game that immerses you in it's world. It gives you choices to make that you really are torn on what to do. From the period correct music to the visuals, it really draws you in. Only problem I had with the game is that at times it can become a little repetitive in it's gameplay. It is very fun gameplay though and the game concludes before it becomes overly stale. Great game that every gamer should have in thier library.
Great adventure game for those who are used to AAA gamesBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief
As a player of alot of AAA games, I find adventure games hard to get into and enjoy because most are made on a low budget...and it shows. That's not the case with The Raven though. Great graphics, great scriptwriting, great gameplay, etc. This game is the AAA of the adventure genre. I bought this game for my wife and ended up loving it myself as well. Ran into 1 glitch that occurs in a single scene, but that's all. Otherwise, it's great.
Very fun mario kart style gameBlockAgent | Sept. 9, 2013 | Review of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed
The game runs very smooth and is alot of fun to play. My wife and i enjoy playing 2 player split screen alot. The graphics look as good as promised and the everything from the sound effects to the tracks throw back to memories of sega past.
