ColeYote | Sept. 19, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Game of the Year Edition - PC

There is only one bad thing I have to say about this game, and that's the spellcasting system being a *tiny* bit counter-intuitive. Other than that, it's nothing but praise from me. It's a good story, the world is huge and immersive, the gameplay is fun, the soundtrack is fun, the voice acting (which Morrowind didn't have) is on point, there is a TON of content, it's just a great game.

I didn't like it that much.

ColeYote | Sept. 19, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind Game of The Year Edition - PC

Admittedly playing Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Skyrim and Oblivion before this might've ruined it for me, but I didn't find this a particularly enjoyable experience. It just hasn't aged well. My biggest two issues would be the game mechanics (many of which are really, *really* dated) and the lack of voice acting.

Play it. Just play it.

ColeYote | Sept. 19, 2013 | Review of Fallout 3 - PC

Sure, the main story is a bit lame and the graphics are a bit dated, but this is still one of the best games ever made. Bethesda has always been great at creating vast, creative and immersive worlds, and this might not be the best they've done (I'd give that to Skyrim), but it's better than almost any other game on the market. The gameplay is also good, the soundtrack is a series of fine choices, and there are a few moments that'll have you laughing. If you haven't played it yet, you're missing out.

A lot more arcade-y, but good nonetheless

ColeYote | Sept. 18, 2013 | Review of GRID 2 POST - PC

If you've played the first Grid, don't expect this one to play the same way. If you want a realistic sim, this isn't going to be it, but if you just want fun this game is a pretty good source of it. There's a somewhat better track selection than the first, which I think is only a good thing. Gameplay is solid considering it's supposed to be a bit arcade-ish, haven't encountered a single glitch or freeze yet, only real disappointment is the removal of Le Mans style racing.

Pretty much Dirt 2

ColeYote | Sept. 18, 2013 | Review of DiRT 3 - PC

Keep in mind when I say that, I don't mean it as a bad thing. Dirt 2 is one of my favourite video games, and Dirt 3 keeps almost everything good about 2 and adds a few things. I'm slightly disappointed they didn't keep the menu presentation from Dirt 2, but it's otherwise same engine, same gameplay, same level of track variety, better car selection, and the addition of snow and rain is much appreciated. the new gymkhana mode is a little gimmicky, but it does add a little to the game's content without taking anything away and you can get pretty good at it. They've added more solo racing, but haven't taken away from the group racing that I've found more fun. The DC complex can be a pretty good time waster, just practicing your gymkhana skills and maybe making some pretty good runs. Overall, if you like Dirt 2, you should get it.

ColeYote | Sept. 18, 2013 | Review of DiRT 2 - PC

I'm a big fan of off-road racing. This game is GREAT for that. Stages and tracks are well designed, I love Codemasters' racing engine, it's got pretty graphics, the soundtrack between races and during replays has some pretty good songs on it and most importantly it's a lot of fun. Particularly rallycross, raid and land rush, as having 8 cars on an offroad course can get a little chaotic.

Alright enough

ColeYote | Sept. 18, 2013 | Review of GRID Overflow 1 - PC

I play a lot of racing games, and this is pretty middle of the pack. I like Codemasters' racing engine, there's a decent variety in types of racing, but what I find my main issue with it is that the track and car selection feels a little limited when compared to games like Forza and Gran Turismo. It was one of the first racing games to implement a rewind system, though, and I *really* like having rewind systems in games these days. So it has that going for it. It's also one of the few racing games I've played that has proper endurance racing in it. Y'know, time limit instead of a set distance. And Le Mans style racing, including Le Mans itself. Overall, decent game, now that it's nice 'n cheap I'd say go ahead and get it.
