Truly Amazing Experience

CrackedOutKid | Aug. 3, 2013 | Review of BioShock Infinite NA Post - PC

I am a huge fan of Bioshock and this game totally delivered. The art direction, atmosphere and music is truly amazing and beautiful. I must have taken over three dozen screenshots while I was playing the game. The gameplay is very much like the previous installments and while it feels very solid, it doesn't have the same impact as them. The main reason for this is the weapon limit. You can only hold two weapons at a time which annoyed me quite a bit. I found myself constantly wanting to switch weapons depending on the situation and it was always a dilemma regarding which I would get rid of. The plus side to this is that there are almost always other weapons around to switch to when you kill enemies, but the downside is that It ended up making me stick to the tried and true combo of Shotgun and Rifle/Machine Gun which was kind of a bummer because I enjoyed switching out to my other weapons in the previous games. It is a bit nit-picky, but it just irked me while playing. In regards to the story, I'll just say that it's really awesome. The whole time I was playing I just kept wondering "What the hell's going on and what's gonna happen next?" and it didn't disappoint. The ending was mind-blowing and unexpected. Overall the game is quite a ride and I definitely recommend everyone to give it a shot if not just for the story and pretty sights. Fans of Bioshock 1 & 2 will no doubt love the game.
