Some nice little additions.Darkrai64 | May 29, 2015 | Review of Just Cause 2 DLC Collection - PC
A neat little dlc pack that contains fun little goodies. Unfortunately, there are no missions or map dlc for this game, but the main game has plenty of content already. Agency Hovercraft - My favorite part of this dlc collection. Not only does it drive on land and over water, but it also has some significant firepower. Get ready to cause some mayhem with this! Black Market Aerial Pack - The jet is pretty nice and the multi-lock rocket launcher performs solidly. The best part is the dual parachute thrusters. These make traveling around even easier. Black Market Boom Pack - The quad rocket launcher and the cluster bomb launcher do what you would expect them to do (they are great to use to spread some destruction). The air propulsion gun is not very strong, but it can be a lot of fun to use. Bull's Eye Assault Rifle - It has a scope, which is quite nice. Other than that, nothing worthy of note. Chevalier Classic - It is a pretty fast car. Nothing else worthy of note. Monster Truck - It is as fun as it sounds, and then some! This is because it also includes a machine gun and a rocket launcher. Rico's Signature Gun - A strong gun, but unfortunately, the only way you can buy ammo for it is through the black market, and it is not cheap. Overall, I would recommend buying this pack since it is cheap.
Bang for your buck.Darkrai64 | May 27, 2015 | Review of Just Cause 2 - PC
This is the only game in which I have spent so much time playing its demo. When I first played the demo on the xbox 360, I was hooked right away. I bought it on the 360 and played it for hours on end. Years later, I saw it on sale for PC for less than $5. I bought it again and I do not regret it. The graphics still hold up quite well and the combat is quite exciting. At times, I feel like I am invincible, but the game reminds me that I am not when my screen starts blinking red. The storyline is the weakest point of this game. There are only seven main missions and the storyline is basic. However, the strong point of this game is the exploration and the side missions. The world is huge and there are plenty of side objectives to complete. Overall, I would highly recommend buying this game, especially when it is $5 or less. It was worth the full $60 when I originally bought it.
Not a Great Devil May Cry Game, but an Excellent Action Game.Darkrai64 | May 29, 2014 | Review of DmC Devil May Cry Overflow (1) - PC
The biggest problem with this game is it is called Devil May Cry. There was a lot of hate surrounding this game because of that fact. However, if it is considered its own series, then it is a great game. The soundtrack is all around good, but I especially like the battle themes with regular enemies. The graphics are very impressive and the level design is solid. The storyline is based upon how the demons take control in which the demons are controlling the humans through the news and other various means. The gameplay is great and is easy to pick up. The only problem I have with the gameplay is how some enemies require either heaven or hell weapons to be used on them in order to kill them. This limits the player on how they can perform their combos. Otherwise, the gameplay is fun. There is quite a bit of replayability here, with seven difficulty levels, the blood palace, and a few other game modes.
A Fast Paced Exciting GameDarkrai64 | May 29, 2014 | Review of Devil May Cry 4 Overflow - PC
Devil May Cry 4 is exhilarating and very fast paced. If you are not on your toes, you will not do well. It has a learning curve, but there are multiple difficulty modes. New players can play on the easier difficulty modes In order to learn how to perform some impressive combos. Once you learn how to perform these combos, the game becomes even more fun! The graphics are great and the gameplay is solid. However, the developers became lazy with the second part of the game and basically mirrored the first part of the game with some added areas/bosses. Otherwise, with two characters to play as, six difficulty modes, the PC exclusive Legendary Dark Knight difficulty mode (which spawns more enemies than normal), blood palace, and more, Devil May Cry 4 has a good amount of replayability.
A Fantastic Multiplayer Experience.Darkrai64 | May 28, 2014 | Review of Battlefield 4 NA (1) - PC
The multiplayer is where the game shines. The singleplayer is actually decent. It was fun to play through, but it was mostly linear and there is not much of a reason to go through it a second time. The multiplayer, however, is what keeps players playing for days, weeks, months, and maybe even years! The multiplayer has a lot of action happening. With ground, sea, and aerial combat, the enemy can attack from any direction. The maps are mostly well done and feature multiple routes to flank your enemy. There are many unlockables, including weapons, medals, attachments, and more. The graphics are excellent, quite possibly one of the best looking FPS games on the market. The game had a very rough launch, but after many patches, it is much better. If you are looking for a fun multiplayer experience, check out Battlefield 4.
A fantastic strategy game.Darkrai64 | Jan. 4, 2014 | Review of Sid Meiers Civilization V - PC
Definitely one of the top strategic games I have ever played. This game is highly replayable, with many civilizations to choose from and many options to customize the map that you play on. The AI has been improved significantly, and if you are not careful, they can take you down on higher difficulty levels. There are nine difficulty levels to choose from, which allows anyone ranging from a new player to an experienced player to enjoy the game. The graphics are pleasant to look at and the UI is sleek, allowing ease of navigation. The combat makes it so you cannot stack all of your units on one tile and that you have to place your units strategically. There is multiplayer, but I have yet to play it since I mainly just play the singleplayer. However, I would recommend only playing multiplayer with friends. Overall, I would highly recommend buying this game.
Not worth it.Darkrai64 | Dec. 22, 2013 | Review of Aliens Colonial Marines - PC
This game had a lot of potential. When it was first showed off, it looked amazing. Unfortunately, the end product is something that is much worse than what was shown. The singleplayer was extremely boring and the characters seemed quite flat. I did not care about the characters at all. The graphics were worse than the graphics shown in the first couple of trailers. The multiplayer is actually decent, but unfortunately, not many people play it anymore. Instead of having a server browser, they have a matchmaking system, making it tough to find anyone. I would recommend not getting this game since very few people play the multiplayer anymore.
