Awesomeness!

Donrenegade | Jan. 19, 2013 | Review of Magicka

This game is one of the best indie games that have ever been released. Sure it might be a bit buggy at times, but that does not take away the fun you have with this game at all! I recommend playing this with friends, but it's also a lot of fun played solo.

This is the first game in which I've been able to play as a mage and combine 8 elements to kill enemies. All other games just give you certain spells like fireballs, freeze enemies spells, simple heal spells etc. In this game, you create the spells you want to use yourself. Also whether you want it to be a beam, a projectile or even a mine!

The humor in this game is also very nicely done. The story will make you laugh A LOT.

Don't know on which game you'd want to spend your money on? Go for magicka! It's worth double the price it is now!

Don't get it, unless you want the "complete game"

Donrenegade | Jan. 19, 2013 | Review of Magicka: Lonely Island Cruise DLC

Ok I received this DLC on steam years ago as a present from getting certain achievements, so for me it was free. This DLC is one map, and that's it. It's fun that you can destroy the railings and that a small map like this allows you to blow others into the water, but that does not justify a price tag of 2 euros. Played this one twice and never touched it again. Unless you want the "complete game", get this when it's on sale. If not, stay away from it.

Great fun!

Donrenegade | Jan. 19, 2013 | Review of Magicka: The Stars are Left

I personally haven't really played it for the story. However I did play it in co-op, which in my opinion was awesome. It has a couple of new enemies and a very hard final boss(or we just fought him using the wrong spells). I personally had to experiment with new, strong spells, because the enemies had certain resistances to elements I always use. It seemed frustrating at first, but eventually it's for the best. It made me a more varied user of elements.

There are some bugs in this DLC. When using certain mages like the Rogue Robe allowed us to skip ahead of certain parts of the DLC with his teleport ability. Certain puzzles could be ignored completely. Despite reports of other people, I haven't encountered a single crash.

I had a lot of fun playing this and after having played this, I still want more. It might be fairly short, but it's not very expensive either. This DLC really is worth it at full price.

Not necessary, but completes the game.

Donrenegade | Jan. 19, 2013 | Review of Magicka: Nippon DLC

I personally bought it to make the Magicka experience complete. But you do not really need it at all. If you want the complete game and also have all chars, get this DLC. It does not add anything significant to the game, it's just for fun. Get it when it's on sale, or if you want to help Japan, get it now.

Unless you hate cutscenes, best shooter of 2012

Donrenegade | Dec. 21, 2012 | Review of Max Payne 3 DNS

Awesome gameplay, great engine(easily maxed out), awesome graphics and the shootouts are one of the best i've ever seen in a game. The single player mode is great and lasts around 10 hours during your first playthough. One of the best games I've ever played. It's even worth it at full price!

One of the best games from 2012

Donrenegade | Dec. 21, 2012 | Review of Sleeping Dogs: Limited Edition

--This is a recommendation that I copied from my own Steam page--

This is a game that you should at least give a try. The graphics are pretty good(can be customised fully) but it’s the gameplay in this game that makes it stand out. The fighting mechanics in this game are unique for games in this genre. It does it way better than GTA does. It’s also easy to get the hang of it. There are enough things to do besides the story missions. Fight clubs, cock fights(I am talking about roosters!), looking for briefcases, races etc etc... But there are also some flaws. The game has a hard time explaining certain controls in the game. You're never taught how to change the music channel, how use the horn or how to sheathe your weapon. The devs. also have the nerves to tell you how to turn off the flashlight of a gun you've got equipped during the final mission of the game. Most things work great, but some feel rushed. It's a shame it did not sell as good as it should. Despite its minor flaws it's still a great game and definately deserves an 8.0
