Badly needs the DSF Mod, otherwise amazing

Dysenious | Aug. 21, 2013 | Review of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (NA)

Dark Souls is probably one of the most refreshing RPG's i've played in a long time. The game lives up to its reputation of being challenging, but every time you die you know it is due to you. This is what makes it so frustrating, as you have no one to blame aside from yourself. A lot of people will take out their frustration on the game, or on their controllers. Despite being an amazing experience, it is not without its flaws. The PC version has been very badly ported. Fortunately for the game, the modding community has fixed every major problem the game has. Dark Souls Fix mod makes the game actually playable by performing some well needed optimizing. The Mouse Mod enables you to actually play with Mouse and Keyboard without feeling like your controlling a brick on legs, and the Dark Souls Connection mod makes it so your friends are always the people who appear first for co-op. The problem is that it shouldn't be up to the community to fix up the game, so the game looses marks for that. Regardless, it is still an amazing experience especially in Co-Op. If you run into problems with a boss, have a friend handy to swoop in and save the day.
