Great gameplay, mediocre plot.

IganX | Oct. 23, 2014 | Review of Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor™ - Season Pass

As it happens with many Lord of the Rings games, they dont usually do justice to the actual backstory, but in this case that doesn't matter, the story only gets in your orc-murdering ways. Where this game truly shines is in the gameplay and graphic aspects, with an intense and flexible combat system and a skill tree in which progression seems real. The extra missions included in the season pass are another bonus.

85

It doesn't get better than this.

IganX | Nov. 11, 2012 | Review of Magicka

Magicka is without doubt one of the games of the last years. With a simple gameplay which consists of combining elements to create spells and using your staff and sword to advance through a campaign containing tons of humor, this game is worth playing. Besides its Single Player options such as the Campaign or Challenges, you can also play in them with your friends, a very recommendable experience. With a new PvP feature besides the Co-op, this is totally an amazing game in every aspect.

Great Comeback

IganX | Nov. 11, 2012 | Review of Hitman: Absolution PRE

SInce the last Hitman game released, all of us fans of the series have been waiting for a game which can compete with any of the series. There have been none. With updated graphics, enhanced gameplay, and the awesome possibilities you get on your assessination attempts, this game is a must play.

Awesome Medieval Warfare

IganX | Nov. 11, 2012 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare PRE

This game on its own has managed to take First Person Combat games to another level. With a dynamic combat system, great animations, and friendly fire, this game can provide tons of hours of fun. Its graphics are great, it doesn't have many bugs, and I would recommend it specially to play it with some friends.

Best Game 2012

IganX | Nov. 7, 2012 | Review of Borderlands 2 DNS

Original, Fun, Dynamic, Borderlands returns in this amazing sequel with new characters, new enemies, and tons of new weapons and skills. Its gameplay is awesome, the story is engaging, and its Co-op mode makes this game the best of 2012, no doubt.

Racing Action

IganX | July 24, 2012 | Review of Ridge Racer: Unbounded (EU)

Just as any of the Ridge Racer games, this game gives the player an endless amount of action and a racing experience that few can match. With updated graphics and improved collision system, this game is worth its cost.

80

Fun without limits

IganX | July 24, 2012 | Review of Plants vs Zombies Game of the Year Edition

A modern day PC classic, this game grants the player many hours of fun and entertainment in a game which having a simple concept, can be quite complex. Try it and you wont regret it.

The Elder Scolls, thats all you need.

IganX | July 24, 2012 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (EU)

Skyrim, just as any of the TES games, has made what very little games achieve, give us a complete RPG experience while innovating and creating new features from scrap. I may be biased for having entered gaming with TES II Daggerfall, but I must say that since that game came out, no other series has been able of reaching the point of total freedom that The Elder Scrolls gives.

This game is worth all its cost and much more, for the illimited hours of quality gaming it provides, its stunning graphics, its fast-paced combat system, and its modding community which improves the game in ways no one could have imagined. I recommend any of The Elder Scolls, but being Skyrim the last one, it may be easier for many people to enter Tamriel through a game with up to date graphics. Have fun!

85

cRPG at its best

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Beyond Divinity

Being a sequel to the classic Divine Divinity, this game had much to live up to, and still it managed to keep up with its original, without being a masterpiece. If you like oldschool cRPG with character depth and a nice combat system, this game is for you.

Mini-game Compilation

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of London 2012: The Official video game of the Olympic Games

This game is nothing more than a series of mini-games put together, targeted at people who aim at playing it multiplayer. Dont expect much of it, for it is what it is, a game made to make money of the olympics, just as the rest of olympic event-based games. Fun for a while, just dont get high hopes.

90

Fun for hours

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 DNS

Like so many other adaptations of famous series, Lego manages to make the Harry Potter story fun and attractive while keeping a varied gameplay and art-style which have made Lego games so special. If you have tried any of the other Lego games and liked them, then surely try this one.

40

Entertaining for a while

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Painkiller: Overdose DNS

Fun for some time, this game really doesn't have anything that makes it outstand over many other FPS. The single-player is short, multiplayer is boring, really not a game I would recommend except to fans of the series.

75

Action at its finest

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Darksiders

This game gathers features from many top games and mixes them in a heavy-action adventure game, with open world exploration and a hack n slash combat system. Stunning graphics, some customization, this game is a great adventure to play. Still, dont look for many strong RPG features, for the game is more of an adventure type.

75

Nice RTS

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War II: Retribution THQ

An interesting RTS with improved graphics from its predecesor, wide variety of units and fast-paced gameplay. If you played DOW1, you will like this game, and if you didn't, I recommend you to play both of them for they are worth the time. Still, not a masterpiece.

90

Classic Stealth

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Thief Gold

The first FP game to involve a stealth mechanic in a very innovative way. The aim is not to engage in combat as in many other FPS, but to avoid it and act as a true thief. Besides, its medieval setting makes it even more attractive. A must have for anyone.

30

Nothing new

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Saints Row: The Third - Horror Pack

A DLC which provides some costumes for true fans of Saints Row, for I can't imagine who else would pay so much for this. Not worth its cost, at all. Just fun for a few minutes until you notice that for its price you could have bought a new game.

65

Standard Action-RPG

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Its stunning graphics and great combat-system make this game something to notice when looking for an action-RPG. Still, dont expect much depth in character customization or open-world feel that other games can give, for this is a more of a casual oriented game than a true role-playing game. Recommended to be played in Co-op, for the single player can get boring very quick.

70

Amazing Game, Horrible GFWL

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Gotham City Impostors

Fun for hours, colourful and stunning graphic art-style, and a dynamic gameplay make this game a must for you FPS lovers who are looking for something fresh. If it wasn't for GFWL this game might get to be something quite big, but still, its enjoyable until it crashes and you start getting those annoying updates.

95

Great Game

IganX | July 23, 2012 | Review of Batman: Arkham City

This game may be one of the few super-hero games which can live up to its name. Open-World action, many sidequests, long and engaging storyline, amazing graphics, this game has everything which makes a third person view action game interesting. Besides, you dont need to have played the previous game to understand the plot, for it is explained clearly during the game.

70

Fine RPG

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of ArcaniA DNS

Having an open world and fast-paced action gameplay, merged with pretty decent graphics and many quests, this game doesn't create anything different than what many others have already made. Fun for many hours and entertaining, its a decent game overall, though it wont live up to previous of the saga.

99

Classic RPG

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods - Enhanced Edition

Standing besides the greatest Open-World RPG games of our time, and often compared to the TES series, this game is a total must have. Great graphics for its time, high replayability value, fast-paced action combat, this game has everything.

95

Greatest Hardcore-RPG of the last few years

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (EU)

Intense action, gorgeous graphics, fantastic animations, interesting story, original enemies, this game has everything to get to be a classic of gaming. Though being hard at first, once you progress through the game and learn the mechanics you will die less, but prepare to be frustrated at first. The only drawback is being a port from console to PC by a company which doesn't develop PC software, it may have some points which could have been developed better. Still, its a great game.

100

Best MMO-RPG

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Guild Wars 2: Digital Edition PRE

This game trully deserves the statement above. Open world, balanced classes, dynamic gameplay, dynamic quest system, interesting story, both for PvP and PvE lovers, this game is totally a unique experience by its own.

70

Decent RPG

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Alpha Protocol

A fast-paced action RPG which though being short and lacking replayability value, may give you a few hours of intense gaming. The character progression isn't much, but the gameplay, graphics and story are pretty neat. Worth giving a try.

85

Total War classic

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2

Another Total War game which lives up to expectations. Fun gameplay, interesting story and factions, nice variety of units, and Japanese theme for those who like it. Updated graphics may require a decent PC to run at maximum graphics. Really worth the price.

40

Doesn't live up to its potential

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Reign Conflict of Nations

Having the potential to be a great game, its amount of bugs and simplistic mechanics make it a game which is mediocre at most. You will have a good time a couple of hours and forget it as soon as you try another strategy game.

50

Entertaining Simulator

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Capitalism 2

A business simulator with a few strong points and many weak ones. In first place, the game is something which we have seen already many times, though the theme changes to seem original. Fun for a couple of hours, boring once you try all its mechanics.

70

Original RPG

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Mark Leung: Revenge of the Bitch

Though being a bit weird at some points, this game can give you a ton of hours of fun. Being a turn-based RPG, it manages to keep a fast-pace, with a beautiful art-style and graphics which would put many non-indie games to shame. Worth giving a try.

90

RTS at its best.

IganX | July 22, 2012 | Review of Company of Heroes THQ

Company of Heroes delivers an experience which very few RTS manage to reach. Its fast-paced gameplay and high replayability make it a must have for those who like action / RTS games. Its online game is still standing though being several years old, but where the game really shines is in its single-player mode. Totally a must have.

95

Amazing Magic-based Game

IganX | July 27, 2011 | Review of Magicka

Magicka is without doubt one of the games of the year, minimum.

85

Great Sequel to a Great Series

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Heroes of Might and Magic V

Heroes of Might and Magic V is a game which doesn't let down HoMaM fans, neither will it let down any new users who decide to play this game. The RPG aspects combined with the RTS component make this game a very entertaining one, giving you many hours of fun. The gameplay allows a great control and management of the situation, the graphics and visual effects improve the experience, and the new units, skills and factions make this game worth trying.

65

Worse than Previous Games.

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword DNS

M&B: With Fire and Sword was disappointing compared to M&B: Warband. This game has less options, more glitches and bugs, is smaller and adds gunfire. This last feature makes the battles depend less on skill and more on luck, making large scale battles look worse than before. The campaign is fine, and the graphics have some small improvement, but being based on the novel hasn't made this game better than the previous. I loved the sandbox taste M&B: Warband had, which seems to be lost in this more linear game. Overall, the game is still fine, but loses a bit compared to the previous sequel of M&B.

95

Amazing Medieval Game

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Mount & Blade: Warband DNS

M&B: Warband is a totally awesome game. The amount of options you get with your character, starting with the selection of your origins, are incredible. You can join one of the many nations, be a mercenary and work on your own, or create your own kingdom. The Battle and Siege system is a mixture of action and RTS in which you control your own character giving orders to your army, having at your disposal many different units. The combat and enemy AI is great, the graphics are decent enough, and the lenght of the game depends only on you, for there isn't a defined storyline. The game also has RPG features which allow you to define your character and your combat style. Overall, the game is totally recommendable for any user who likes action, RTS and sandbox type of games.

15

Not worth the price.

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Mafia II DLC: Vegas Pack

Just as what happens with many of Mafia II DLC, the content is small compared to the price. Two Cars and two suits, as cool as they can be, aren't worth the price they have. If you absolutely love them or want more clothes and cars in your game, give it a try, though I felt a bit disappointed with this DLC pack.

15

Even More DLC

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Mafia II DLC: Renegade Pack

This DLC can seem pointless, for it adds a pair of cars and some clothing to the game, and nothing more. The price is high enough for the content it adds, so if you are a Mafia II fan go ahead and try it, but in any other case I wouldn't recommend it.

75

Fine Action-RPG Game

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Alpha Protocol

Alpha Protocol is a long, well enough driven game, which takes us into a world of spy's in a certain childish way in some aspects, and in a very adult way in others. The RPG features of customization and choices, specially the last, are great, the gameplay is fine, the weapons and skills are OK, and the storyline is linear yet unpredictable. Its main drawbacks are its poor graphics and visual effects, and some glitches that may appear along the game. Overall the game is a fine RPG-action game, with some important choices to make, and is a recommendable game for users who like the kind of game, yet it isn't a masterpiece.

70

Good RPG

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Two Worlds II Cap

Two Worlds 2 is an overall good game, not being a masterpiece, but with a fine storyline following the events of Two Worlds, and improving some major flaws the original game had. The gameplay is fine, the number of skills is large enough, there are many weapons, equipment and potions at our disposal, and there are also many side-quests which will take time to complete. The combat system is OK, and the Multiplayer mode is great fun, but the greatest problems I see with this game are the bugs and glitches, the poor voice-acting in some cases, and a lack of customization and choice that RPG's should have. Overall its a better game than Two Worlds, but still has some aspects that could be improved.

55

International War Simulator

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Pride of Nations

Pride of Nations isn't a great game, it has some features which can seem fine, but doesn't give us anything special that makes it stand above other games. We don't get to see real battles, so its more a kind of management game, so don't expect action in this one. Its strong points are the great AI, the fun multiplayer, and the great management of your nation you get to have. Overall, an OK game for people who like strategy.

75

Classic Civilization feeling.

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization® V

Having played to most of the Civilization games, I must say that this one keeps the essence of the game unaltered, which nowadays is something to thank for. The game is entertaining and great fun when you start playing it, getting a bit linear with time but still enjoyable. The gameplay still gives the user many options, the graphics are great, and the rest is pure Civilization. If you liked previous games, you will like this one, and if you haven't played any Civilization, this one is a good start.

60

Original but very Linear.

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Beat Hazard

Beat Hazard introduces another aspect to space-ship arcade games, which is using your own music to determine the enemy strength and number. It is cool in first place, has great visual effects and a simple gameplay which makes it fun, but with time it can get boring, for it doesn't have any type of variation, its allways the same, just as in older arcade games but with your own music. I am not a big fan of this type of games, but if you appreciate arcade-like games and the music aspect gets your attention, go ahead and try it.

60

First of many DLC

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2 DLC - Ikko Ikki Clan

This DLC doesn't add much content to the game as we could have expected, for it has a very cheap price and offers a new faction with some new units, and not much more. If you have played every faction in Shogun 2 (which are many), and are willing to try a new one, you could like this DLC, but I personally see it as another addition to a game which is fine on its own.

90

One of the Best RPG-FPS Games

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition DNS

Deus Ex is a game which merges the best aspects of RPG and FPS games, giving the user a game full of action and spectacular visual effects combined with a complex storyline full of twists and a deep customization of your character. The main drawback is that the game has outdated graphics, for it is one decade old, and that can ruin the experience for some users. Overall, the game is a must have for rpgfps players, with many hours of singleplayer and a decent enough multiplayer.

85

Great Sequel to AC2

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Assassins Creed Brotherhood

In first place, I must say that this game continues the story of Ezio Auditore, started in AC2, so if you haven't played that game, play it first! Now, this game on its own is pretty well done. The graphics and visual effects are great as in any AC, the storyline is complex and makes the game addictive, the gameplay has been improved, for we get to use even more weapons and equipment, and the management aspect has been developed with the feature of training your guild. This being said, this is a game with an awesome singleplayer mode, but its multiplayer can seem to be cool in first place, but its repetitive and gets boring quite soon. Overall, this is a game which you will like if you played any previous AC, but don't get it only for the multiplayer, for it isn't that great.

70

Entertaining Game, nothing more.

IganX | July 22, 2011 | Review of Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy is a great platform game compared to what we are getting now, but that doesn't mean its awesome. Its controls, graphics and storyline are fine, its difficulty is high, and has some cool features like the level editor. Overall if you like platform games this one is OK, but dont expect nothing more than a simple and linear game.

65

Less Strategy, More Action

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Commandos 3: Destination Berlin CAP

Commandos 3 was a bit of a let down for a Commandos fan like me, for it leaves to the side the pure tactical concept previous games had, to concentrate in developing a faster-paced game with more action and killing, rather than sneaking. The squad size has been reduced, we see less characters than in Commandos 2, but some improvements have been made to skills. Besides the main drawbacks, it is still an enjoyable game which will entertain you for many hours, with some decent graphics, gameplay and storyline.

80

Sequel to one of the Greatest

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Commandos 2: Men of Courage CAP

Commandos 2 is a very decent sequel to Commandos, the game which started a new concept in RTS. This game has made some major improvements with respect to the previous, such as the better graphics, the better control of your squad, the increased amount of units that appear, and some really cool missions and storyline. You can play this game even if you didn't play Commandos, so if you are new to the series and the 1st game's graphics make you doubt, this one is a great way of getting started.

95

Classic RTS Unique Game

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines CAP

Since it was released to nowadays, Commandos has been a unique game, with many games made from it and sequels, but few reach its high quality. With some outdated graphics this game may seem not worthy, but this game has some features, such as its high difficulty and tactical addition that make this one a game which will grant you many hours of entertainment.

79

Stand Alone Expansion of a Great Game

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Men of War: Assault Squad Cap

MOW: Assault Squad takes us back to the period of the WW2 in a similar way to MOW, with its similar strong points and drawbacks. We can find some glitches along the single player and it can be difficult at times, but the variety of units, factions and gameplay modes make the game worth consideration. If having to choice between this game and the original, I would still choose this one.

75

WW2 Strategy

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Men of War Cap

With singleplayer and multiplayer modes, this RTS game based in WW2 is a higher quality game than others which have some similar display. The graphics are pretty neat, the gameplay is great allowing excellent tactical management, you have at your disposal many playable factions, and the campaigns are great. The main drawback can be the amount of micro-management required, that can make this one a complicated game for people who are getting started un RTS.

80

Decent Online RPG Without Subscription

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Guild Wars Trilogy

Guild Wars is a game which had a great quantity of players at the time, being now a bit outdated mainly due to graphic reasons. With the release of Guild Wars 2 being ahead, some players are returning to this fantasy online RPG, and for those who haven't tried it, its a totally recommendable game. Aspects like the skill system, the equipment, the long storyline and the PvP are features which make this game outstand above the rest, and even more, the lack of a mensual subscription makes this game cheap compared to other lower quality mmo's.

90

The Sequel that beats the Original

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Assassin's Creed 2

Assassins Creed II has made an improvement over the first one in many ways. The gameplay is more varied, there are more weapons, there are less "climbing-glitches", the graphics are awesome, and most important, the game is absoultely adictive. The storyline is fine and well developed, with the main character Ezio being in the centre of the plot which started with Altair in AC1. We will have new gadgets and cool stuff, we will have a wider management of our own character, and we will get to manage our own village. Overall, the game is great, the combat system is great, and if you played AC1, you will love AC2.

85

Great Action Game

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Assassins Creed

I have been playing Assassins Creed for many years, and its totally a worthy game to play. Its plot is very complex and can be confusing at times, but if you get to follow it, its simply amazing. The gameplay is innovative and fun, though it may get repetitive after many hours of playing it. We are able to use some different weapons and skills to reach our targets and complete the main storyline, as well as many side-quests. The graphics are awesome, the cities and atmosphere the game gives are very immersive, and the game is great fun.

70

Another PvP Map

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Watchtower DLC

If you enjoy playing with other people in the versus mode and are bored of the maps you have, then this one is fine, though in my opinion its price is a bit high for the content it grants, which is one single map. More DLC for the awsome game that Magicka is.

95

Must-Have Magicka DLC

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Vietnam DLC

This DLC adds to Magicka a some new challenges which are very enjoyable, some new weapons which are great, and a new robe with a certain "Patriotic taste", and the new magicka animation of napalm is awesome. From the DLC available, this is certainly the best for the humor and content it adds to the game.

80

Some MMO tasted added to Magicka

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Party Robes DLC

This DLC adds some clothing which is oftenly seen in the different roles of the mmo characters, which covers another cool aspect of Magicka's features. AND, the handgun is awesome. If you like adding new dlc to your Magicka game, this one is great.

100

Great items to help a Good Cause

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Nippon DLC

This DLC adds to Magicka some awesome Japanese clothing and weapons, so if you are of the kind that appreciates Japanese culture or simply wants some more Magicka items, this is your DLC. Furthermore, the cheap price is a donation to a good cause, so you shouldn't be doubting about helping them!

80

Yet another Challenge Map

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Marshlands DLC

This DLC adds to Magicka a challenge map which adds a new type of enemy to the game, another "cliché" that the game tries to represent in a humorous and fun way. If you are bored with your Challenge maps, this one is great, specialy to play with friends.

70

More Magicka DLC

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Final Frontier DLC

This DLC pack contains some stuff which makes it worth paying for, though its price may seem high. The PvP map's fun enough, the robe is great, and the new enemies are original. A fine piece of DLC for this awesome game which is Magicka.

100

Original Must-Have Game

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Magicka

Magicka is without doubt one of the games of the year, minimum.

70

Fine Action-RPG

IganX | July 21, 2011 | Review of Dungeon Siege III

Dungeon Siege 3 is a fine RPG-Action game, not excelling much in its RPG features, but still enjoyable. It has a linear storyline which can take some hours to finish, it has some main characters with their own defined personality and combat tendencies, and a decent multiplayer option. Its main drawbacks are the combat system, seems to simple, (which can be an advantage for people who like the kind of game), and the feeling that this game has been developed more for consoles than for PC, due to some control problems that may exist. Overall, the graphics are great, and the technical requirements are fine, so the game is a must have for fans of Dungeon Siege series and for people who like a hack n slash rpg type of game.

80

What you would absolutely expect from a TW

IganX | July 20, 2011 | Review of Medieval II: Total War Gold Edition

I have been Medieval II now for many years, and the incredible amount of hours you can place in it makes this game unique. The technical requirements it has make it available for computers which wouldn't handle actual games, still providing the user with some excellent graphics. The battles are great, the AI is tough, the expansion campaigns are great, but the main Campaign is simply genious. The immersion this campaign grants with each of the playable factions is incredible, allowing you to manage your empire and conquer new territories by means of a direct invasion, or by following a more subtle approach. The amount of mods the community provides with has to be mentioned, with a special reference to the Third Age: Total War mod, totally recommendable.

99

Total War at its Best

IganX | July 20, 2011 | Review of Total War: Shogun 2

Having played Total War games since their start, I can say with no doubt that this game is one of the best of the series. Its not something which just goes down to graphics, but to an improved gameplay experience for the user, eliminating classes which seemed unnecesary in previous games and polishing the strong and weak points of each unit, giving you the chance of experiencing some real tactical battles. The campaign's difficulty has been increased, its management options have been improved, and the faction advantages make more sense. Overall, the Total War experience has been improved once again, and makes this game an absolute must have for any strategy gamer.

80

An Original MMO

IganX | July 20, 2011 | Review of Rift

Rift is a fantasy mmorpg which in first place may seem to be another of the bunch, but once you give it a try, you can clearly see it is something different. The storyline is catchy, the gameplay and combat are fine, and the graphics are great, and the events are awesome. I would say this is a game for PvE more than PvP, so if you like raids and dungeons, this is your game.

95

Fun without limits

IganX | July 20, 2011 | Review of Just Cause 2

Great gameplay, amazing physics, awesome graphics, Just Cause 2 is a must have for players who appreciate an action - open world sandbox type of game. The main storyline is quite simple as some people may argue, but the strong point of this game relies on being capable of free-roaming a world full of enemies, weapons and vehicles which will grant you hours of fun. Things like the massive amount of mods available only help improve the user's experience and add many more gaming hours.
