Good if you like GWIluminatro | Aug. 22, 2013 | Review of Guild Wars Eye of the North - PC
This is a addon for the normal Guild wars, not a standalone like factions or nightfall. Expect more of the amazing story of guild wars 1 with whole new weapons, armor and regions to explore. Graphics and sounds are amazing as always but there isnt much more in this addon. Its more of the same, nothing more, but nothing less so dont expect too much. The only really new thing is the hall of the north, which kinda acts like an armor, pet and achievement exhibiton. Here you can look at what you can achieve in the game. A nice addition but not needed. After all this is just medicore, but still fun. Think about buying it!
Best in the AC series.Iluminatro | Aug. 22, 2013 | Review of Assassins Creed 2 Deluxe Edition - PC
This game takes everything that made AC great and enchances it while adding new features and reducing bugs. The freeroaming is even better now that Ezio, the new hero, can swim through the small canals of venice. The story is great as usual and there is more to do than ever. New side mission types, new enemies and weapons aswell as new abilities make this game fun even without following the main story. This is by far the best AC in the whole series. Definetly worth a look and the price its selled for. Combat is improved, the story is impoved, graphics are improved, quests and freeroaming are improved, what are you waiting for?
Good fun for little moneyIluminatro | Aug. 22, 2013 | Review of Dont Starve - PC
The artstyle of this game reminds of Tim Burton and it works well with the gritty, dark world you find yourself in when playing this game. You start off as Wilson, a scientist who created a machine that brought him to a realm full of monsters and other incredible things. The goal is to survive and like the name implies, not to starve. You have to fight of monsters, scavenge for food and make fire at night while researching things that make these tasks easier. The random generator adds infinite replay value and after a certain score you unlock new characters, each with thier own special abilities. A good and very amusing, almost rougelike game that excells amongst its rivals.
Doesnt meet expectationsIluminatro | Aug. 21, 2013 | Review of Guild Wars 2 Digital Edition (1) - PC
This game is beautiful, the effects and the world are beautifully designed. Visually its stunning and the music and sounds are of high quality. The game offers many features and the combat is more action heavy than normal MMOs but it still doesnt reach the likes of TERA for example. Still its good fun to play and the classes differ greatly, each with its own set of skills. Throughout the story you make choices that impact and lead the story along the way. This makes for a great variety for every new character and deepends your immersion within the game. However, in my opinion this game gets boring really quickly after one character and the initial fun wears off quickly. It was hyped really hard before it came out, but cant meet those expectations in the long run.
A fun casual gameIluminatro | Aug. 21, 2013 | Review of Avoid - PC
This game tries to pass itself off as a family game, but not very well. The only family aspect about the game I can discover is its 4 player multiplayer, but of course you dont have to play it with your family. The unlimited replay value this game advertises is worn out after a few games and it gets very repertive fast, even with the 7 game modes. Graphic wise there is not much to be seen, but this is due to the game being simplistic and there isnt a way to make it look better. Good for a few minutes of fun, maybe with friends. Not much besides that.
Could be better.Iluminatro | Aug. 20, 2013 | Review of City Bus - PC
The first thing you will notice about this family game is the cartoon graphics. They work will this kinda game and add a certain charm to it. Gameplay-wise, this game doesnt offer much, but its great to relax and do what every child dreams about: Driving a bus. The free roaming serves this game very well as it lets you explore this fictional city, there is always something for you to do. Its not a very well known game or one people anticipated, but all in all this is one of the best bus simulations/children game hybrid I have ever played, it certainly excells in this category. Gets boring after a while though, when you have seen most of the game.
Improving an already good game!Iluminatro | Aug. 5, 2013 | Review of Sword of the Stars The Pit MindGames - PC
This DLC is improving the main game and changes the pit like you have never seen before. More vicious enemies waiting for you in the shadows and the addition of psy powers to brave them with. Control mechs, summon food or crush the emey with your mind, this dlc makes it possible. The 2 new classes have great gamefeel and make use of the new powers and items supplied. If you want the full Sword of the Stars: The Pit experience, this is a must buy.
Hours of fun, if you like roguelikesIluminatro | Aug. 5, 2013 | Review of Sword of the Stars The Pit - PC
This is by far the mostplayed Roguelike I have in my library. It has a decent challenge and leveling system that can keep you playing for hours. Integrated into the gameplay are messages you can decrypt, slowly unveiling the secrets of the pit floor after floor. Looting, hacking, killing, crafting, searching, unlocking, this game has it all and more, a decent game for a decent price.Enyoable gamefeel meets decent game mechanics and a good story. So buy it, strap on your space boots and get your laser pistol ready, its time to reach floor 50 while paving the underground floors with dead critters. You are in for a bumpy ride!
Best strategic game out threre at the moment.Iluminatro | Aug. 4, 2013 | Review of Total War Shogun 2 - PC
The title says it all, thats what I think about the game. The difficulty levels can be adjusted to new players or hardcore players, enabling a good experience for everyone. The strategical depth is on par with games like Civ5 and it excells in its wonderful battles. Hundreds of soldiers at your command, historically accurate equipped to fight for you cause. So gather your clan of choice and decide to fight for your shogun or to take the throne yourself!
