This is the original. The beginning. The introduction to the awesome world of Hitman. The sense of freendom with endless options was breathtaking back in the time. While Thief 1 is my ultimate stealth game, it was Hitman that changed my view on controlled sandbox games and gave it a true sense of freedom.
Killing the targets in various was sublime in this game and while I've heard many people say it has aged badly, I still think there are parts of Hitman 1 that hold up pretty well. Of course there are those that started with Hitman 2 which had instantly better graphics and more complex scenarios. That said, if you want to meet the original master assassin, this is it.

Commandos 3 is not exactly the last of Commandos series but it is the last great one IMO. It is epic and complex, just like fans of series would like. sadly, it is not as big of a leap as C2. That game was a really huge step for the series. Thankfully, the great semi2d visuals and classic gameplay are mostly there (where is pilot!?!!!).
It is somehow harder though. Because of that, this is recommended only for fans of previous games or something similar like Desperados.
