It is not the good old CS but it does deliver a great experience

Jegerkake | May 21, 2014 | Review of Counter Strike Global Offensive - PC

I was very negative about playing CS:GO for quite a while because it simply was not the simplistic counter strike (1.6 and earlier) we all fell in love with in our earlier days. The graphics are greatly improved and the details on the maps has also been vastly improved, for me this was a huge disappointment because I really enjoyed the simple style CS have had earlier. I might go as far as saying this is a totally new game, because there are so many changes. Although, it has done something right, because it really is a ton of fun to play. It does remind me of the competetive CS 1.5 and 1.6 gaming I used to play and the new matchmaking competetive queue is a huge step forward in the right direction. All in all it is a good game, it is not the earlier versions of counter strike, but it does deliver a good experience in the competetive first person shooter genre. The matchmaking queue system does bump up my rating for this game quite a bit (although it does need to be fixed, I would like to see a region matchmaking instead of the way it is now as you get teamed up with tons of people who can not speak English at all).
