What a disapointmentJoe39 | Nov. 28, 2014 | Review of The Sims 4 (NA)
As a person who has played every single Sims game and expansion up to date, i really had some doubts when i saw the developers video's before Sims 4 was released.
When the game came out my fears were realized when i loaded the game and discovered just how bad it actually was. Every feature that was slowly expanded on since Sims 2 and Sims 3 are basically gone, there is no more active neighborhood that makes you feel like your in a real world and instead it has been streamlined into a map that lets you " Click " and " load " onto a lot such as the local bar or house. It really makes the immersion of sending your Sim out the house, getting a cab or their car to go their desired place feel wasteful when you just get teleported their " Yes that's right you no longer even have a car ". This whole scene was developed to minimize load times and frame rates within the community however whats the point where everything else around you is just an illusion.
The Sims new emotions is a complete mess as well, i went from being happy, sad, depressed, angry and energetic within 10 seconds from walking to one side of my house to another, that is without any of their mood items placed inside the home. When it works, the emotions work well within the Sims however i'm not quite sure if they are necessary.
The only real good thing Sims 4 offers is a really good building mechanic. The old styles are still there however its much easier to build a house now and it seems that the majority of time within making this game was put into that.
However, in the end Sims 4 has disappointed me, i didn't play the Sims to purely to build massive houses that i could move with one click and drag or to play with their emotions, i played cause you wanted to play a simulation of someone or their family within a massive neighborhood and that made it feel life like. Now it just feels like Sims are emotional robots with no tendency to even go outside anymore since there's really no point. The way the Sims are going and as far as I'm concern with the neighbor hood it looks like their aiming for a console release, and if that's the case i feel sorry for PC users out there, the game cant be streamlined anymore, stop taking away the features that made Sims 2 - 3 great and expand on those.
BTW - How come it took so long to patch in pools, that was ridiculous, i'm surprised they didn't charge it for DLC.
Brutality meets the Long SwordJoe39 | July 30, 2014 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
If you like chopping mens arms / legs off or a simple decapitation of the head every now and then, then this is the game for you! It has different modes, like sieges or objectives you nee to protect or destroy and yes there are a few glitches and lag problems, but hey in the end its an all good game.
Fantastic part of the Fallout SeriesJoe39 | July 30, 2014 | Review of Fallout: New Vegas (AU)
Fallout is a series where you choose who you want to be. There are many different factions you can join throughout the campaign, both for good, neutral or bad. On top of that the way you build your class and perks is what makes fallout top of its series, the more points you put into a skill tree, the more perks you can unlock to benefit it. If your after a game that has heaps of side quests, factions and overall a good variety of choice then Fallout: New Vegas is the game for you
Good and the badJoe39 | July 30, 2014 | Review of Total War: Rome II Emperor Edition
Lets be honest - i enjoy playing this game, i have enjoyed all of the Total War series - However there are many things that Rome 2 brings that both improve gameplay and still plague it.
Number 1 "BAD" - Unit Collision, I am sick of this cluster♥♥♥♥ situation since empire total war where units on the battle field cant ♥♥♥♥ing hack at each other one on another, this is a TOTAL WAR GAME - Not a ♥♥♥♥ing dance fest.
Number 2 - "GOOD" - After 10 patches they finally may have fixed the dumb A.I - Perhaps the water supply in CA's department in this has finally been filtered, i can finally play Rome 2 "in rome" without the men getting caught on their ladders and going around in circles.
In short, if you delayed playing this game until now then i would buy it if it was on special, plus the MOD's for this game aren't too bad, just don't buy the DLC unless your ready for a whoring feast of same ♥♥♥♥, different outfit.
