"Sale-Worthy" for fansKlinhk | Aug. 3, 2013 | Review of Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall Nexway
I really enjoyed the style and mechanics of the original game and since this was the first DLC to have an actual plot to follow I was quite interested. Although some areas are new to explore, a couple are recycled, which I found disappointing. The story itself was relatively short and by the end of the game I felt it was quite lacking. I attribute this to not having much time to build up any real "feeling" towards the characters. That being said, if you did enjoy the game, you will like trying some new abilities (although the novelty wears off), and perhaps going full stealth. I recommend this game only if it is both on sale, and you already beat the first game and enjoyed it.
Asking price too high for so little...Klinhk | July 5, 2013 | Review of Sniper Elite V2 - Kill Hitler DLC Pack
First of all, we should recall that this DLC was included with the pre-order of the game. If we look at the actual content, you get one mission with a couple snipers. Personally, I thought that since this game does not focus on realism the difference between rifles was not as noticeable as I would have liked. So, buying DLC just for the weapons in this game is not that much of a draw. Also, the mission will not provide you with that much additional game-play beyond putting a bullet above Hitler's mustache with a friend. I would avoid this DLC until it's very cheap or get the stand-alone expansion with Nazi zombies!
Very enjoyable game!Klinhk | July 5, 2013 | Review of Sleeping Dogs Pack
Although at first glance this game may appear to be GTA in China, it is actually so much more. The story-line is very engaging, driving is a blast, the extra challenges are entertaining, and the combat keeps you coming back for more. Although a $60 dollar price-tag is steep, if you ever see this game on sale it is an absolute must. One of the other neat features is that you can see silly "feats of strength" that you steam friends have done and try and beat their score! All in all, this game is solid and although the DLC isn't really that important, it does at some fun features worth the money when on-sale!
A fair attempt...Klinhk | July 5, 2013 | Review of Impire
Right away, this is not like one of the older sim dungeon games you are expecting; Impire has more limitations on what you can do and how you can do it. However, at the given tag price, it isn't bad. You will find that the game-play and mechanics are entertaining for a while, even though creating your own special lair may become dull. Like other reviewers here, I also got too excited over this dungeon sim. That being said, I also played the game for a significant period of time. The only down side is once the initial flavor wears off there is not much to bring you back (even with the nice addition of coop)
Good to get on saleKlinhk | July 5, 2013 | Review of Crusader Kings II: Songs of Prosperity
Although I would never buy three songs at this price for a video game, I do believe once it drops below a dollar it is a fair purchase, especially for those particularly long games ;) The songs themselves are quite well done, but I believe that many people won't really notice them.
I would have to say that of all the downloadable content available, the songs and portrait DLC is the least of concern. I would first keep my eyes out for the Trading Republic or other DLC that expands actual game-play and mechanics. Keep your eyes open and wait for another great bundle sale for this one!
