A new Total War game!Koomazaz | Sept. 5, 2013 | Review of Total War: Rome II Emperor Edition
This game is an insanely beautiful resource hog. I have been a big fan of the Total War games, and they are known for their resource-intensive engines that operate on a massive scale. Well, Rome II needs some work before it is playable on anything besides a ridiculous monster of a gaming rig. My computer is good, but it is not anyway close to being able to max out the graphics in this. Gameplay-wise, Creative Assembly has improved several things, but the AI takes forever to move, resulting in somewhat boring gameplay. Throw poor framerate on top of that, and you have a beautiful but un-optimized game that needs more work. Consider picking this one up after CA releases some patches!
A Lord of the Rings / DOTA CloneKoomazaz | Sept. 5, 2013 | Review of Guardians of Middle Earth
This is your standard multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) type game, but with Lord of the Rings characters. Two teams of five opponents get to battle it out in Middle Earth, playing as famous characters from the books and movies. It is great that Monolith chose to bring this game, which was previously a console-exclusive, to PC. The graphics are somewhat mid-range and the gameplay gets really repetitive after a few rounds. Overall it's a decent title, but it may be worth it to wait for the bargain bin on this one.
An excellent 3D puzzle game!Koomazaz | May 22, 2013 | Review of Ziro
This game is very addicting but difficult! There are tons of levels that will frustrate you to no end, but it's well worth the challenge. You feel like a genius after beating some of them! Kinda like Portal, there is some great humor and perplexing puzzles. Check it out, and it will keep you busy for hours!
Classic Worms pinball!Koomazaz | May 22, 2013 | Review of Worms Pinball
The Worms franchise is one of my very favorite sets of games. Worms Pinball is a great addition to the franchise and brings new pinball gameplay but with Worms! The graphics and physics are pretty good, and it is really easy to get addicted to this game. I wish there was a multiplayer scoreboard, but the single-player gameplay makes this worth it. It's a great pinball game... with Worms!
Awesome classic game.Koomazaz | May 22, 2013 | Review of Silent Storm Gold Edition [Playfire]
This game is worthy to be called the spiritual successor to Jagged Alliance 2. The realistic destruction physics and non-linear gameplay make this a very special turn based strategy game. It includes both S2: Silent Storm and S3: Silent Storm Sentinels, which makes this a really good value. Get this awesome classic game, and you will love it!
Awesome racing game!Koomazaz | May 22, 2013 | Review of Ocean City Racing
This game is HUGE! This game is easily one of the best values in a racing game. For only $5, you can enjoy this awesome open-world city. The free mode is reminiscent of GTA but without the violence. On top of the free mode, OCR offers a pretty realistic race mode. The graphics aren't so great, but the huge open world makes it well worth it. Try this game, and you won't regret it!
Pretty fun simulator!Koomazaz | May 22, 2013 | Review of Ambulance Simulator
If you like driving simulators, this one is one of the most interesting. You have some pretty neat unexpected events like weather, and of course the emergencies are fun. The graphics are not the best, but if you're looking for a realistic emergency driving game, this is the best one!
More Borderlands!Koomazaz | May 17, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2 (NA)
Gearbox could not have made a better sequel. They took everything that was great about the original Borderlands and made it bigger! The new weapons and abilities are awesome, and the characters (for the most part) are great. They did replace a few of the voice actors (including Scooter), which is annoying, but they make up for it with the new hilarious characters. The other annoyance is the fact that 2K chose to not include all of the DLC with the season pass. It is my opinion that if you buy the season pass, you should get all content. That said, Borderlands 2 is a great game. Grab some friends and fight some bandits!
A worthy successor to the classic Monkey Island games!Koomazaz | May 17, 2013 | Review of Tales of Monkey Island
Monkey Island is my very favorite series of adventure games. The humor is goofy, and the dialogue is hilarious. Tales of Monkey Island is the first game not created by LucasArts, but it upholds and, in some cases, exceeds expectations. The story is engaging, and the original voice cast is back to bring the characters to life. Graphics are much improved, and the music is outstanding. Telltale did a great job with this one. If you enjoy a good adventure game with lots of laughs, check out Tales of Monkey Island.
A great sequel to Poker Night at the InventoryKoomazaz | May 17, 2013 | Review of Poker Night 2
Telltale took a great game and made it even better with new characters, new environments, and new dialogue. This game is hilarious and worth your time and money. You can even unlock new special items for Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2. GLaDOS makes the game more enjoyable as dealer, and the other characters are a riot. Play this game, and you will not regret it!
An addicting an hilarious poker night!Koomazaz | May 17, 2013 | Review of Poker Night at the Inventory
This game is tremendously fun. You get to sit down and play poker with some of gaming's most beloved characters, and the dialogue is absolutely hilarious. Each character has his own poker "tells," but the animation can sometimes glitch and make it difficult to see if the expression is because of their hand or because of the dialogue. I don't play many casual games, but I have spent more than 15 hours playing this one. Try it out! You'll love it!
