Feel the actual troubling of being a generalKsiqno | May 10, 2013 | Review of Europa Universalis III Complete DNS
And a politician, and an economist... Europa Universalis III is a well balanced, complex and complete game in many aspects.
As a general, you'll need to well plan your sieges, troop movements and resources distribution. This is the middle age, your ships are slow, you don't have good roads nor vehicles to transport your troops. Everything is as slow as it should.
Technology takes years to research, inflation is a problem early in the game, diplomacy can get complex if not treated with care.
You can't go wild and declare war without a proper casus belli, you need to ensure the continuity of your lineage and provide the crown with legitimacy. The world behaves as it actually did.
Welcome to the dark agesKsiqno | May 10, 2013 | Review of Mount & Blade: Warband DNS
I won't rate this game as a 100 because I don't think any game is completely perfect, although Warband has really fought to be so.
The combat system is great, for the first time you actually feel like you're a knight, or an archer. You feel the weight of your armor, your horse, your absurdly-long-great-axe.
The diplomatic aspect could be slightly improved, and the sieges can be repetitive sometimes but in that case you just need to go do another thing for a while.
One mostly relevant aspect is the modding community. There are plenty of mods, improving every single aspect of the game, so the player can be comfortable with the actual game state. Share
Awesome as always but...Ksiqno | May 10, 2013 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Nexway
In the technical side, Skyrim is just outstanding. The scenarios and the detail level are stunning, as so is the overall graphical quality.
The plot, on the other hand, lacks the freshness and originality that had the previous game, Oblivion.
Many dungeons are repeated again and again and the faction quests are either stupid or just not believable (a few quests and you're considered the master of a guild).
Anyway, exploring is great and you find many surprises when walking through the roads.
