Prepare to have funMcHawk | June 27, 2014 | Review of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (EU)
Amazing, funny, pitiless. Three words to describe this wonderful action RPG from From Software :D
Many people find this game so hard that they put it aside, while many other simply love this game. It is a matter of mind. If you like mysterious atmospheres, its unbelievable various combat gameplay, wonderful graphics (but you will need a mod to get them, cause vanilla game has bad visual options ), you can be able to get through Dark Souls and its 1000 ways to die. Otherwise, you will find tons of frustration and you will put this game away.
One last thing : i really appreciated the soundtrack, and the lack of music throughout all the game, except for final bosses and some important events.
Strafe key we miss you !McHawk | Feb. 11, 2014 | Review of Hard Reset
Are you looking for old school fps? Do you miss your strafe key? Hard Reset is the answer! Flying Wild Hog did a great work wit this game, bringing us a funny shooter with a lot of enemies, explosions, and different weapons. To be honest ,we have only two guns, one firing rounds, the other working with plasma cells, but we can upgrade these two basic weapons, collecting nanocells and using them in upgrading stations found in many locations through all the stages. Our two guns can assume five different configurations, for a total of ten destruction tools, each one with two alternative fire modes: a lot of choices for our play style!
Graphics is very good, with good models and nice textures , but there are frame issues in some points of the game. Soundtrack does its work, without memorable tracks though.
Conclusion : buy this game, it is not innovative, but you will have a lot of fun playing it.
Strategy : one word, one worldMcHawk | Oct. 31, 2013 | Review of Crusader Kings II
I started playing this game cause it was in a bundle, it came with a lot of other games, but it shined among all. You can start your way into this deep game playing the tutorial, and even if you are completely noob in grand strategy games (like me :) ) , you can acquire the basics and start to build your own name against other European rulers. You will have a lot of different ways to spread your name and conquer other countries (assasination, marriages, war). Graphics is nice, but you will work with a lot of static images; on the other hand, soundtrack is very good and immersive, with a lot of different epic tracks.
