Buzzing with Excitement!

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts - Bumble Gnaw Skin

Gnaw is normally a nasty little bugger. However, this skin turns him into an adorable bumblebee with matching weedlings. At first I didn't like this skin much, but after playing with it I have to admit it's one of the better ones. It looks great with the rest of the 'nauts and it's funny and cute at the same time.

Buy it and you'll love Gnaw even more.

Is There a Problem, Officer?

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts - Officer Lonestar Skin

POLICE SEARCH WARRANT! sound of a sunglasses-wearing Hyperbull breaking through a door

The above will become an everyday occurence if you upgrade your Sheriff to Officer. Get a fancy hat! Wear sunglasses! Make your Hyperbull wear sunglasses! Show off your shiny badge!

This skin could be better with some more changes to your skills, but it is a good one nonetheless. If you're into playing as Lonestar, you should consider getting this. It might just make your game even more awesome.

Groovy

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts - Hot Rod Derpl Skin

Derpl is unsurprisingly one of the more 'derpy'-looking 'nauts. Not with this skin! Turn your Derpl Zork into a total badass. Once you see him with this skin, you will believe that he was in fact born to be wild. The heavily motorized look of the walker is fantastic and works really well with the game's aesthetic.

One of the coolest skins this game has received so far. Get it, now!

Get Your Groove On

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts - Disco Voltar Skin

Voltar is one of the more 'serious-looking' 'nauts in the game. His basic look is a brain in a jar, with small drones flocking around him. There's nothing wrong with that, but being able to replace the cliché brain in a jar with a shiny disco ball... Now that is groovy.

Your healbots also turn into disco balls and you'll have all of your teammates doing the victory dance as you support them in the lanes, keeping them alive. Indeed, they will survive.

One of the best skins in the game. If you enjoy playing as Voltar, I would highly recommend getting it!

Your Enemies Will Always Remember Today...

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts - Cap'n Vinnie and Seadog Spike DLC

...As the day they almost caught Cap'n Vinnie and Seadog Spike! Another pirate-themed skin for Awesomenauts. I'll warn you in advance, using this skin while a teammate has Pirate Leon equipped may just force the enemy to surrender due to the sheer awesomeness of two space pirates.

With this skin, Vinnie turns into a captain, while Spike becomes a ghostly ghast of a fish. In addition to that, you also get new lines and these are some of the best in the game too. Nearly every line has a pirate pun of some sort and the constant arrrs never seem to get old.

Get this, right now. Trust me, you won't regret it!

You Arrr a Pirate!

Mumblez | June 6, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts: Pirate Leon Skin

This skin turns your already cool Leon into an even cooler space pirate. If the great looking pirate hat, the new sword for swashbuckling and the peg leg weren't enough, you also get a new soundpack so Leon also talks like a pirate.

This is the most expensive DLC skin for Awesomenauts so far, but I feel it's one of the best. If you want your Leon to be even more awesome, ye better get yer shinies out, arrr!

Old School FPS at its finest!

Mumblez | May 23, 2013 | Review of Painkiller: Black Edition

Let's say you're sick of modern military shooters. You've seen every chest high wall, every cloud of smoke and every bullet decal there is to see and vomit rises in your mouth whenever the word 'corridor' and 'gunfight' are mentioned in the same sentence. You want something fresh. You need something fresh. Look no further, Painkiller is here to help you!

This game is the first and unquestionably the best in its series. You are one man, armed with a wide array of weirder than weird weapons, fighting against hordes of crazy monsters in gorgeous arenas. Levels are linear, but it doesn't matter. The gunplay and movement is what make this game great. You can bunnyhop while you use the titular weapon to dismember your foes, all the while evading their attacks. This is what a shooter should be, in my opinion.

As stated, all the weapons are crazy - this is a good thing. Every gun is unique and to top it off, all of them have alt-fires. It's worth trying all of them out just to see what kind of craziness they can produce! There's even one that fires shurikens and lightning. Shurikens and lightning! (If only it had tits and was on fire...)

The levels are beautiful and all of them are different. You'll experience war-torn battlefields, asylums and even theatres and all of these areas will be filled with deadly monsters all out for your blood.

Enemy AI is bad, but since this is an old school FPS where you'll be facing hordes for the most part, it doesn't matter. Monsters will chase you while you blow 'em to bits and that's how it should be. In a game like this, advanced AI is not a necessity.

This game isn't perfect, occasionally enemies may get stuck in the map itself and you might encounter other bugs, but at the end of the day, this is an experience I'd recommend to everyone. If you like shooters, give it a try. You won't regret it!

TL;DR:

THE GOOD: -Great variety of weapons -Amazing art style -Visually well-designed enemies and arenas -Practically non-stop action

THE BAD: -A hilariously bad story. Borders on 'So Bad It's Good' -Enemy AI is laughable, monsters can get stuck on some levels -Minor bugs

My rating: 95 Play this. It's an amazing experience that you should not miss out on. Give it a go!
