What a game!NFLfan2539 | Oct. 3, 2013 | Review of Sid Meier’s Civilization® V
Sid Meier's Civilization V is an amazing game. It is my most played game on steam so far. Why is that? The one-more-turn syndrome.
What is the one-more-turn syndrome you ask? Well it occurs when the gamer opens up Civilization V. They are engulfed in the amazing gameplay, devising strategies to destroy the enemies. They think about their civilization's situation, looking for which civilizations to ally, and which to burn through the ground. Will the gamer go for a science victory? Or will the gamer try to build a gigantic army to burn everyone else to the ground. How will the gamer deal with internal problems like happiness and economy? Should the gamer expand across the earth? Or should they gain their cities through commanding and conquering (see what I did there?)? The gamer thinks about all of these, and forgets about the world around him.
The game just absorbs your attention like no other. It makes you feel like a real leader. The civilization rises and falls through your command. Its power lies in your hands, and that is the true joy that this game brings.
The gameplay isn't that bad either. Choosing your research, making an army, and micromanaging all of your units are downright amazing tasks, which I believe that Firaxis Games did (near) perfectly. The replayability in this game is astounding.
The only flaw in my opinion is that other Civilization leaders can be somewhat unpredictable at times. Other than that, the game is just amazing.
An Exciting Game!NFLfan2539 | Oct. 2, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider is a beautiful game. The gameplay was downright fantastic! The graphics were stunning! The character development was great!
The thing that made Tomb Raider enjoyable was probably its versatility. If you are a gameplay junkie, this game is one of the best games ever. If you are a story-based fan, this game is beautiful. The game had its stealthy moments, its small skirmishes, and its gigantic brawls! This game was probably one of my favorite games ever.
However, sadly, all games have their flaws. The story is somewhat hard to follow for me, some of the characters are not well developed, and the optional tombs were not much more than walking in and finding something, then walking out.
Overall, this game was brilliant. I would definitely recommend it.
