Mind-blowing Excellence

Nalern | Sept. 5, 2013 | Review of BioShock Infinite NA Post - PC

I have to say, I enjoyed the first Bioshock and it set the bar high for this game. As soon as I saw the preorder deal on GMG, I made sure to get it and play it first day out. It was worth it! The atmosphere is unique and compelling, and the themes are distinctly Bioshock. There is once again a utopia with dark undertones that confronts the player philosophically. And the ending... wow. Just stood with my mouth open for about a half hour. I look forward to seeing where the game goes with DLC. The combat is fun, though the AI is not particularly interesting. Overall, however, this is one of the finest crafted gaming experiences I have ever had the pleasure of engaging.

Smooth and Stunning

Nalern | Sept. 5, 2013 | Review of Max Payne 3 Steam - PC

Max Payne delivers a stunning performance as a compelling shooter that doesn't skimp on emotional weight. Though it may seem ridiculously heavy at times, I found it oddly refreshing for the most part. The combat is solid- I enjoyed the mechanics, though coming out of jumps always feels awkward. I really appreciate the difficulty level as well; the lack of regenerative health is a boon here. The multiplayer is not highly populated but engaging enough if you aren't already involved in another multiplayer scene and want to give it a shot.
