Wonderful game!

PoussinJoyeux | May 3, 2013 | Review of Far Cry 3 - PC

This game takes the best of Far Cry 1 and Far Cry 2, removes the bad things (no more respawn!) and adds a very good story! Graphics are very good, even on a non recent HW configuration (2.5 years old). There are many things to do it, in addition to the main quest and it will keep you busy for a while. I've finished the main quest and did most of the secondary objectives, but it still remains stuffs to do in it so I'll gladly return to the islands for that. What is also very good from my point of view is that everywhere you go in the islands, you find stuffs to grab or ruins to explore. Game developpers/designers have done a very good job. So it's also a pleasure just to explore the island with no particular aim because you always find something to do in it. Some characters such as Vaas but also some others (but I won't spoil the story here) are very well interpreted and as a consequence, it is nice to follow the story and watch the cinematics. To give you an idea: at the beginning, to have the much longer gameplay possible, I was doing all the secondary quests and without using fast travel (which allows you to go from a point to another in the island instantaneously). But after a while, I was so much in the story and wanted to know what would happen next that I used fast travels and put away secondary quests to progress on it (and you still can do secondary quests when the main story is complete). And what is more important than everything (and which is typical of the Far Cry serie) is that you can reach objectives (such as liberating an outpost) with so many different ways that there is a high replay value. So to summarize: very good game, I had not so much fun in a video game for a while!
