Interesting design and story

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of The Whispered World Special Edition

Deep story organised with hand drawn and a bit pastel graphics. You are a boy who needs to... Oh no, no, no spoilers are allowed :) Read more from an article from Adventure Zone: "Daedalic Entertainment Company decided to reheat steak ... i.e. refresh us one of his earlier works. 6th May sales hit a special edition of The Whispered World. The game comes with a bonus in the form of comments artists, rebuilt tutorial and new achievements to unlock." So nothing special for those who played already, but if you didn't then it should be quite interesting. Notice that bugs unpatched by regular edition, now should been fixed. Grab it from GMG ;)

This is how sequels should look like

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Borderlands 2

Bigger and better. Blast enemiess or snipe them out. Gameplay gives you also opportunities to make headshots which give more experience for your character. Still funny thanks to Claptrap's appearances. Enjoy bazzilion's of guns, equipment and other stuff to take out many types of different enemies. You can also take part in co-op gameplay and with help of friends more easily defend bosses and other enemies. Here are pros and cons from gry-online.pl gaming website review: "PROS: - plot, narrative, characters independent; - like the unfettered freedom of action; - weight odjechanych quests; - four characters to choose from, great opportunities for their development; - lots of weapons, shooting mechanics; - diverse enemies; - memorable bosses; - mass of innovations that improve the comfort of fun; - paramount, visually diverse locations; - good for both loners and supporters of co-operation; - first-humor; - Audiovisual binding. CONS: - poorly implemented fast travel system; - common loot." Don't wait and grab this brilliant game!!!

Art of detective stories

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of LA Noire

Very nice story with only good gameplay. Too much of a shortcuts in going to places where something happened as for a bit of sandbox LA Noire introduces. Good graphics with all the style needed for a 40s. But still solving cases gives much fun when you need to combine traces and suspects to know the truth. You have to guess from peoples faces if they are lying or telling the truth - this is I think the only new thing game introduced. Still quite a top 10 rank.

Beautiful graphics

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Crysis 3

Crysis 3 is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. Especially plants and water. What's more it's not a system hog and on high settings you can play on a 3 year rig. And what about gameplay? You can sneak up on enemies and finish them quietly, you can make lots of destruction and noise using guns. Your suit also can hack electronic equipment, so you can for example make guarding turrets to turn against enemies. Also you have possibility to change vision to detect enemies (sth like Predator). To sum up I have also add that audio is good and creates good impression while playing. Have fun guys!!!

Welcome to mithology

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Titan Quest Gold

This a real h'n's game with a more than solid gameplay where you can choose between hand combat or magic. Depending which skills you will choose will shape your hero. Adequate graphic makes it feel even better the world of mithology. Music also adds even more climate and sound effects for monsters are more than ok. Perfect gameplay experience making it even one of the best in it's genre.

What's more you should try also Grim Dawn as soon as it appears on GMG, because it's made by the same developer.

Welcome to mithology

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Titan Quest Gold

You can smash your enemies with a hand weapons or destroy with magic skills. Excellent gameplay mechanics of TQ made it one of the best hack'n'slash games ever. Choose your path by selecting skills and become real hero. Stylish graphics make excellent background for a good feel of fights and music adds depth to the game. Do not hesitate it will keep you in front of monitor for a lot of time.

Classic kingdom

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Majesty Gold

Become a ruler and set rewards for completing your aims. You cannot control directly your units. You can only develop your kingdom and give rewards for example for killing a werewolf, destroying monster's lair or discovering new areas. That is why it's still unique. 2D graphics aged quite well, so it's still nice looking game. Worth buying especially with widescreen support.

Again better than previous year

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Football Manager 2014

Hundreds of hours in FM world say everything. Most sophisticated football world simulation ever made by Sports Interactive. Transfers, exciting matches, injuries, up and downs and more. You can feel like Ancelotti, Mourinho, Simeone or Klopp ;-)

Not a hit, but still better than average

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Aliens: Colonial Marines

First of all I was not hyped by announcements, so maybe that is why I am not dissapointed like most of people. this game is still good, nice graphics with good climate and of course aliens, aliens and aliens. Still worth getting, because of the patches applied by developer.

Suprisingly funny

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Mix modern shooter with old school cinematics, add tons of humor, then add B class movies story and shake it with some "dragons" ;) Here you go this is FC3 Blood Dragon!

Far Cry's best of...

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Far Cry 3

Crazy story, interesting main quests (especially the one with mushrooms ;)), extra quality graphics, living world... I could go on and on, but all it matters is that the gameplay follows everything in quality too. So reload your weapons gentleman and fell into this dangerous paradise.

Parody of a simulator game

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Goat Simulator

Have you seen a goat? A flying goat? Climbing goat? No? Then try this Goat Simulator. Game is suposed to be a parody as stated by the producers. But beware, fun won't last too long as you will quickly discover almost all possibilities. Better buy it on a sale for a low price, because else it's possible you will be disappointed with it.

One of my first PC games

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Actua Soccer 3

First football game that introduced 3D graphics. Lots of hours I have played this title and it's kind of living memories seeing it now on GMG. If you want to feel how it was to play football game in 90s try it. Else you will be dissapointed.

Renovated classic

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of XCOM Enemy Unknown Pack

XCOM is very good renovation of good old classic UFO games (Enemy Unknown, Terror from the Deep). Brilliant tactical turn based strategy. Fight for your planet and defend it from alien attacks. Develop your base, research technology based on alien tech, take care of finances, enlist people from all over the world and fight greys and other alien species. Good luck commander!!!

Dark millenium of mankind

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War - Game of the Year Edition

Step into the world where man, creatures of chaos, orcs and eldars fight for their lives.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War is the first game from the strategy series. And probably the best due to traditional story telling campaign. You control Space Marines and need to overcome hordes of Orcs in a world full of brutal war. There is no other option beside war. Prepare to spare your life for Emperor!!! Blood Ravens advance!!!!

Both for fans of The Walking Dead and Jurassic Park movies

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Jurassic Park: The Game

Investigate incident in a Jurassic Park and don't let yourself eaten. Ok let's quickly sum up: You like TWD? Yes? Ok... You like dinosaurs? Yes? That is good... You like Jurassic Park movies? Aslo yes? Well that's great. You will surely like Jurassic Park The Game. Don't worry about QTEs if your not too dexterous. You can repeat them as many times as you need. So it's still a good adventure game for those who prefer point and click titles. Just try it if you answered yes to all questions.

Inside a bat's cave...

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year

Well not exactly. Rather a Joker's Asylum. Ok no more spoiling. Now to the facts. Very good mechanics with a feeling of smooth controls. Good graphics. And all the atmosphere of investigation, fights and puzzles. Be a bat and a man! Bring back Joker to jail where he belongs. Because you are Batman and you're in Arkham Asylum!

Take a walk in to the undead world

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of The Walking Dead

Yes altough you have to make some decisions in the game, it is still quite linear. But there are three things that make it very good game. First the story, second atmosphere of fear what will happen in the next hours and days. And the third... ZOMBIES!!! :-) Welcome to the Walking Dead!!!

I want it all, and I want it... conquered!

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Europa Universalis IV

Europa Universalis IV is the fourth part of the highly popular series of strategy games, developed by Paradox Interactive. Players have the opportunity to direct the development of a lots of nations over 300 years. The title offers powerful mechanisms such as those related the management of internal policy, diplomacy, economy and military, while based on a rich set of information about historical figures, events and places. Based on the same engine as Crusader Kings II it offers also a very deep intense and entertaining gameplay. Many aspects may surprise you for example a poor ruler hindering progress of your country etc. A whole world lies in front of you. You only need to conquer it.

Where does Dungeon Siege go?

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Dungeon Siege III

First Dungeon Siege was a revolutionary hack and slash game. 3D world, tons of stuff, issuing orders for companions with their own managable inventory etc. Then came second part which was not a revolution, but a small evolution and still a great game. But about Dungeon Siege 3 I can't say anything warmly. Almost totally console like controls and lack of climate (at least for me), bad mechanics. It makes it all very bad game, especially in h'n's genre.

Ever wondered how to be a king?

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Crusader Kings II

Crusader Kings II is all about being a ruler. You can choose to start as a count, duke or even a king and guide your dynasty succesfully through the medieval times. You can even become ruler of a Holy Roman Empire. So grab it, create your own ruler (needs Ruler Designer DLC altough) and become the most eminent power of the world.

Grab a Sten and kill some enemies

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Silent Storm Gold Edition

Of course using turns and action points in a World War II in Silent Storm game. I have recently came back to this title and it ages well (graphic is clear, sounds ok), only point I would have against is that controls are not precise enough. But still it has all a fan of turn based strategies would ask for. For the glory!

Very good RTS

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Supreme Commander

What suprised me when I first played SC were expanding maps when you completed parts of the mission and then appeared new areas and you got additional objectives. Also you had to balance very good between resources, energy, base defense and offensive actions. And the excellent graphics as for 2007. Try it if you like strategy games, sci-fi and missed the title.

85

One of the most suprising ideas...

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Gothic Complete Collection

...for a RPG when Gothic 1 came out. Starting character feeling like a mice when beginning adventure, because almost every character was able to kill you. What more a dangerous world which you could explore freely. Then came Gothic 2 bigger and better with it's good addon. And finally Gothic 3 which was huge but largely dissapointing with lack of polishing. Don't mention terrible Forsaken Gods. For parts 1 and 2 I give 99, but for 3 and FG 70. So it gets 85 ;-)

Lesser brother of GTA series

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Mafia II

Don't get fooled by the review title. It doesn't mean Mafia 2 is bad game. It just feels that the first Mafia was something good then the 2nd is just a mix up of the 40s and GTA, but with less polishing than the original. It's not so exciting and the story is a bit worse. But still a good game if you want to try something else than GTA.

Early Access with a great perspective

RakuPL_Markolf | May 14, 2014 | Review of Endless Legend - Classic Edition

Endless Legend is a great looking, but sitll alpha stage title. Gameplay is very promising, looking like Civ5 in fantasy world with some new ideas in the way of handling combat (you only choose what units should do and they execute your orders by they own). Still some bugs which can hit completely entire game from being playable (and you need to restart it to regain possibility to continue playing). A very promising turn based strategy with a very nice graphic style.
