Great singleplayer experience

RickWiz | Jan. 2, 2013 | Review of Spec Ops The Line - PC

Just an average third-person shooter but with a brilliant story. The voice acting is very strong, helped along by Nolan North casting the lead character. The story feels extremely well-written. It's dark and brutal the way it's told, with many moral grey-area choices to be made and you often end up wondering if you're actually the good or the bad guy. With all the brutality and difficult choices you clearly notice how the mental health and the mindset of you and your squad changes. Highly recommended for singleplayer, multiplayer is a waste of space.

A mixed bag, but overall good

The bond with the other team members are not very deep nor satisfying, the shooting mechanics are mediocre to say the least. And don't bother with multiplayer because nobody's playing it. The good parts about the game is the opponents; robots, however somewhat lacking in variety but the mission variety and the spectacular boss fights makes up for it. The damage models are by the way great (limbs falling off etc). The story is good and builds up to a satisfying end with a lot of twists.
