Very good gameRosseau | June 10, 2013 | Review of Storm Frontline Nation - PC
I bought it years ago and must have 40 hours into it, just scratching the surface. Of course, some of that time was modding, which is very easy to do with SQLite Database Browser 2.0 b1. It's sort of like a turn-based R.U.S.E. but requires more forward thinking. Full price - No - as there is no support from dev I have seen. On sale - Yes!
The old Populus concept - turn based and infinitely betterRosseau | May 28, 2013 | Review of Skyward Collapse - PC
I was probably the only one in the world not impressed with the old Populus games. This one is oh so much better, and has really been under-priced by Arcen. So imo, for $5, the devs could use the support. The game is surprisingly deep in terms of options. You are not going to master this one quickly. The graphics are perfectly adequate to get the concepts across, and the concepts are pretty unconventional - balancing two warlike races. It's a lot more fun than it sounds. There are a surprising number of buildings and units, and the interactions between game elements is surprisingly complex and satisfying, even for harder core gamers. The tutorial is also much better than average, and actually made learning the game fun. Not that you'll be anywhere near mastering it for a while. A refreshing change from the same RTS rehashes. And again, the price is ridiculously low.
Even free, not worth the hard drive spaceRosseau | Feb. 17, 2013 | Review of War of the Human Tanks Deluxe Edition - PC
This game was rated #4 on the indie.com site - FTL (a great game) was rated #1. So I got suckered in. There must be 100 screens you need to click through to get to your first battle. Maybe if you are 10 years old, the dialog would be entertaining. As far as the gameplay, it was a jumbled mess to me. I also got fooled into thinking it was turn based. I have about 200+ games (no brag, just fact) and this could be my worst purchase ever. No reflection on Greenman, just the game.
