Using Gameplay and Story to provide an experience!

Sacred | Dec. 21, 2012 | Review of Spec Ops The Line - PC

Spec Ops: The Line is an intense game about the horrors or war and the effects it has on the people fighting in them, while also doubling as a criticism of the entire "military first person shooter" genre. The story starts off simple enough, your squad is sent to Dubai to investigate what happened to an American Battalion after a sandstorm ravages the city. As the game progresses, the effects of the gameplay will start to take a toll on both your characters and (surprisingly) yourself, with the gameplay starting to feel worn and tiring after a while and making it feel difficult to continue on playing. Recommended to play as much of it in one sitting to maximise the experience. Though I can see that people just here for shooting will get bored quickly.
