Coming from the first game into this is a real treat. The story is much more persistent, avoiding the long dry tracts that plagued the first storyline. Handsome Jack is a wonderful villain, giving you an emotional desire to finish the game if only to plug him right in his stapled face.
Character-wise, the base lineup has the variety that you'll want to have someone playing each role with you. There are so many ways to fit the powers together and build alongside one another. Only downside is that playing solo is a major challenge in this title, which will likely leave you wanting to play the Commando so you can toss an extra gun onto the field.
The new design to the UI looks nice and works well usually, but there are still the occasional problems that will grind on you, such as problems arising if you attempt to use the scroll wheel at certain points in the inventory and it locks up your selection, forcing you to close and re-open your inventory.
All-in-all, it's a great game with a few issues. If you liked the way the first one played you'll be able to pick up and be happy with it, but if you didn't, you probably still won't as the feel hasn't really changed.
