Something to hold you over until Season 2.SolarPhantom886 | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of The Walking Dead: 400 Days
The Walking Dead: 400 Days is a bonus episode to The Walking Dead: Season 1 and introduces us to the characters that will have prominent roles in Season 2. This is a short DLC that takes place over 400 days from when the apocalypse starts to around the time when Season 1 ends. It does not deal with any of the characters we grew to know in Season 1, but instead serves as a prequel to Season 2, introducing us to the characters that will be staring in that season. It is a must buy if you enjoyed Season 1 and intend on buying Season 2, as choices made in this DLC episode effect how Season 2 plays out.
A phenomenal storyteller.SolarPhantom886 | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead: Season 1 was a much better game than I was expecting it to be. It is the story of Lee and a young girl names Clementine. Both of them were thrown into this changed world and forced together by terrible circumstances. Together they journey across the southern US in an attempt to find a safe haven from the horrors of what the world has become. This game has some wonderfully written characters, and a heart wrenching story with surprises at every turn. You will constantly be surprised by what these people do and how Lee and Clementines story unfolds. It is truly fantastic and a must play if you are a fan of zombie games.
Enjoyable game.SolarPhantom886 | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of Fallout 3
I found that this game wasn't necessarily as good as the people I asked made it out to be. It was a good game, but not as good as I was expecting it to be. This may have been because of the dated visuals, which were a bit of a turn off as I was accustomed to visuals in games such as Skyrim and The Witcher 2, but that doesn't make it a bad game, just somewhat difficult to get into. It has some good shooting mechanics, a good story, unique NPC's, and the VATS system. It is still overall a good game, but if you are going to try and play this game for the first time in 2014 after playing games with much better visuals have come out, than it will be quite a challenge to get into, however in the end I found that it was worth it.
Just... one... more... turn...SolarPhantom886 | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of Sid Meier’s Civilization® V
Sid Meier's Civilization V is a fantastic strategy game that will completely consume you. It has quite a bit of a learning curve, but the pay off of knowing how to play this game is completely worth it. Once you get into it, you wont want to get out. This is a game that you need to set aside an entire day for just to play. Your job is to build a grand civilization from the ground up by researching different technologies, constructing cities, harvesting resources, and warring with other civs. Setting the game to a marathon progression and with a massive random map has to be some of the most fun I have had playing video games. The initial thrill of exploring the land around you, and the rush of excitement you get when you attempt to sail around the world and discover a new continent is something only Civilization V can provide. This game is tons of fun to play by yourself, but even more fun if you play with a friend, the game allows you to set up matches over the internet or a LAN connection to play with friends, and some of the predicaments you get into with the other AI civilizations can be incredibly funny and rewarding. Overall, this is probably the game I have sunk the most time into on PC, it is truly a wonderful experience.
P.S. Don't trust Gandhi, he may seem friendly in the beginning, but once you get to the nuclear era... it doesn't matter how long you have been his friend, he will drop nukes on your cities.
One of the best games I have ever played.SolarPhantom886 | Aug. 13, 2014 | Review of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a masterful open world RPG. It serves as the next installment in Bethesda's hit "The Elder Scrolls" RPG series, and is a title that deserves "The Elder Scrolls" name. It features many improvements over the last entry in the series, Oblivion, greatly improved visuals, exciting game-play, hundreds of quests, many different story lines, and the ability to play the game in many different ways. The game takes place during the height of a civil war in Skyrim between the Imperial Legion and Stormcloak rebels. Coincidentally enough, during this time, dragons decide to come back after being dead for thousands of years, and terrorize the citizens of Skyrim. You play the Dragonborn of legend that arrives in Skyrim just in time to help fight back the dragons. Travel around the province and discover what is causing the dragons to return, and take part in different events that you run into while reversing the mountainous environment of Skyrim such as joining up with the Dark Brotherhood assassins, Riften Thieves Guild, Companions, or The College of Winterhold. Uncover conspiracies, work with deadric gods, fight a war, and kill some dragons. Skyrim has so much to do, beautiful scenery to take in, and amazing places to explore. Without a doubt one of the best games I have every played, and will keep playing for years to come until TES VI comes out .
