One of the best games I've ever played

Squeeble | July 3, 2013 | Review of Spec Ops: The Line

While the story is worthy of praise, what's more impressive is how the themes and symbolism are integrated into the game's design and presentation. Spec Ops: The Line is art. It's not pretentious or even overly intellectually deep, but it's layered, it has a point, and it's crafted with enough subtle nuances and attention to detail that someone was able to write a 160 page novel analyzing it.

Let's just say it's a game worthy of discussion and definitely something that should be played.

One thing about it that I should mention is that it's not all that fun. In the context of the tone of the game there's a reason for that, but if you're just looking for something to turn on, listen to music, and kill some dudes, you won't get that here.

Give it a chance. Even if you don't love it like I do, I guarantee it's not what you're expecting.
