A Fantastic GameSublime50lbc | June 21, 2012 | Review of Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition
I remember the intense excitement that came with the first Assassin's Creed game when it was announced. Everything about it sounded amazing. I remember waiting in line for it's midnight release and heading home to be amazed at how fun it was to scale any building I wanted. But I grew tired of the game fast. Real fast. The repetitive nature of the side missions turned me off. I forgot what came out shortly after but I traded in my Assassin's Creed game for credit one something else.
When they announced the sequel I was a bit apprehensive, but I eventually caved in based on all the fantastic reviews it was getting. So I picked it up and I am glad I did.
They fixed everything. Side-quests weren't repetitive and annoying, climbing buildings was much easier and the combat was more enjoyable. Even the story (and thankfully the acting) was improved tenfold. Everything about this game is an improvement on the previous installment and I couldn't be happier.
While Brotherhood included even MORE improvements, Assassin's Creed II was the highlight in the series and proved that it had potential to be a great franchise.
Harder than I remember...Sublime50lbc | June 21, 2012 | Review of Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Back when I was much smaller, this game was so addicting. I played it all the time. In a sense, I even looked like Alex as a child.
Loading it up recently, I've realized that this game is way harder than I remember. Maybe I just used to play the first level over and over again and never really played past it but even still it's a great first level..
Still, this game holds a piece of my childhood and I'm glad I'm able to pick it up again many years later.
