Nice game with rewardsTPCGorillaMunch | July 25, 2014 | Review of Poker Night 2
Poker Night 2 isn't a game for poker veterans as the game is only singleplayer and pits you against AI that aren't a huge challenge if you are familiar with poker. The idea of the game is to complete different challenges during poker tournaments, leading to a different player placing their bounty item down which you receive if you win the tournament. Collecting a bounty prize unlocks items for Team Fortress 2 and Borderlands 2.
If you play either of these games and enjoy playing poker I would recommend this game. The characters are funny at first but the lines they use and the different cut-scenes will be repeated often and can become irritating at times. There are two different types of poker you can play, Texas Hold'em and Omaha Hold'em.
Dead gameTPCGorillaMunch | July 20, 2014 | Review of Gun Monkeys
Gun Monkeys is a multiplayer game which is lacking in a player base. I would only recommend getting this game if you had someone to play with. When you redeem a copy you get another free copy of the game which is a bonus and you can give it to someone to play with.
The gameplay is very simple it involves collecting energy cubes and bringing them back to your power core to score points. This is while the enemy monkey is doing the same thing and trying to stop you by using guns and bombs. Powerups can be collected to change your gun, freeze the other player, etc.
Overall it isn't a bad game and can be enjoyable if you have someone to play with, however the game is reasonably dead.
Enjoyable and funny!TPCGorillaMunch | July 19, 2014 | Review of Typing of the Dead: Overkill
This game isn't the best tool for learning how to type quickly but it isn't bad either. If you want to improve your typing skills and kill zombies at the same time this could be the game for you.
The game can be played cooperatively and also includes mini-games and almost endless replayability due to the ability to beat your high scores. The game also includes The House of the Dead Overkill which is basically the same game except you click to shoot, rather than type words.
The game is funny with hilarious characters and overall an enjoyable game that I would recommend trying, particularly if you want to improve your typing ability.
Underrated Co-op FPSTPCGorillaMunch | July 19, 2014 | Review of Killing Floor
Killing Floor is an amazing game that rivals the more well known Left 4 Dead games. It has a similarity in that it is infinitely more enjoyable when played multiplayer rather than single player. To be successful the team needs to work together to survive hordes of deadly creatures using a wide variety of weapons. Each player can select a class that will allow them to specialize in something such as melee or explosives.
The game is constantly updated and annual events still take place further increasing the enjoyment. The game has almost endless replay-ability with a huge number of maps to play on including maps created by the community. If you are the type of person that doesn't enjoy playing games with other people this game is probably not for you as the single player is a bit lacking. Overall the game is very enjoyable and I would recommend it.
A must play game!TPCGorillaMunch | July 8, 2014 | Review of Portal 2
If you have played the original Portal and enjoyed it, you will love Portal 2. I would recommend everyone to play Portal 2 even if you never played the original as it is close to a perfect game in my opinion.
The game is a first person puzzle game with a great atmosphere and story. There are plenty of humorous moments and the characters are brilliant. There is also a coop campaign so if you have a friend there is even more to enjoy. The game isn't huge but it definitely long enough to keep you interested and satisfied. Also steam workshop support will keep you playing for as long as you want to.
Great Point & Click StoryTPCGorillaMunch | Dec. 27, 2013 | Review of The Walking Dead
Great game that involves you making decisions that will impact certain events throughout the game. The gameplay is just pointing and clicking to solve puzzles. The art style looks awesome and really suits the game along with the soundtrack.
The story is the best thing about the game and has plenty of brutal and sad moments. The game doesn't have much replay value except if you want to replay the game and make different choices to find out what happens. Overall an excellent game, definitely recommended.
Nice Little GameTPCGorillaMunch | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of Super Sanctum TD
Unlike Sanctum, Super Sanctum TD is just that, a tower defense game. It plays the same as a normal tower defense game, with different towers having different strengths and weaknesses. There are a variety of enemies. Abilities on a lengthy cooldown can be unlocked, such as a freeze ability to stop the enemies in place for a few seconds. You can level up and choose upgrades based on different skill trees. Overall an enjoyable and cheap game with good replay value and variety.
Side Scrolling ShooterTPCGorillaMunch | Dec. 9, 2013 | Review of Satazius
Satazius is an old school styled, side scrolling shooter. The game is very, very difficult and can be frustrating at times. The ship is reasonably big and to get through some gaps you need to be very precise or you will crash. If you can master the game it can be a nice little experience. You have a variety of primary and secondary weapons to choose from at the start. If you love side scrolling games then this might be for you. If you are new to the genre, I wouldn't recommend this game as it is very hard.
Perfect Puzzle GameTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 30, 2013 | Review of Portal
Portal is a first person game in which you wield the portal gun. This gun allows you to create portals which are connected. Using the portal gun (and sometimes the companion cube) you must complete various puzzles and challenges, some of which are quite difficult. The main story isn't huge but it is very enjoyable. The game is quite humourous, with plenty of funny moments. There are advanced challenges for after you complete the story, which do live up to there name, they are not at all easy. Overall a great game I would recommend as using the portal gun is awesome.
Amazing Co op experienceTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 29, 2013 | Review of Left 4 Dead 2
I have never played Left 4 Dead 1 but Left 4 Dead 2 is a very well done game with all of the campaigns from Left 4 Dead 1 included, so if you are looking to buy one of the games this is definitely the one. Left 4 Dead 2 follows four survivors that must fight through hordes of infected and special infected. What makes this such a great cooperative game is that you really do have to work together to have success. If someone gets pinned by a special infected they can only be saved by a teammate,
There are a variety of guns and melee weapons, although they aren't anything special and mostly feel the same. The music, voice acting, and atmosphere is very well done. I would definitely recommend playing this game with friends rather than randoms as it will be a much, much more enjoyable experience.
The game has huge replay value due to the large variety of game modes, including versus in which you can even play as the special infected.
Still a Good GameTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 29, 2013 | Review of Half Life
An old game that stands the test of time in my opinion. It is an action FPS with logic puzzles that will really make you think. The game follows the story of Gordon Freeman.
There are plenty of guns to find and use and a large number of enemies to beat. At a cheap price it is definitely worth it as it is a reasonably large game that is also quite challenging. Does not have a lot of replay value unless you want to complete the game on a harder difficulty.
Amazing gameTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 29, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts
Awesomenauts is a MOBA style game in 2D. It can played competitively, with friends, or against bots. There are a large number of characters to choose from with more and more being released. Each character is unique in the abilities they use and the upgrades that can be purchased for them during a game.
The game involves 3 Awesomenauts vs 3 Awesomenauts fighting to destroy the other team's base protected by a number of turrets. Each team will spawn droids to help them fight and when destroyed will drop solar, the currency used to shop for upgrades.
The game is very well balanced with every character having different strengths and weaknesses. The game is constantly being updated with a large batch of new content being added very soon. The game looks nice and runs smoothly, also has great music, with each character getting a personal killing spree song.
Multiplayer SlasherTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 28, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Choose from a range of classes and stab, slash, kick and shoot others. The game has great variety with the weapons, maps, and game modes. One negative is that it can be difficult for new players to get into the game as they will most likely struggle against veterans and just simply be outclassed. The game has fantastic hand to hand combat mechanics that will require true to skill to master.
Decent Puzzle GameTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 28, 2013 | Review of Droplitz
This puzzle game involves rotating pieces to create different paths and combos to score as many points as possible. Further game modes and maps are unlocked by achieving a certain score and can prove to be a challenge. If you enjoy challenging games and puzzle games that make you think constantly then i would definitely recommend Droplitz. The game has endless replay value if you enjoy attempting to beat your own score and high scores created by others.
Good Game and Good DLCTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 26, 2013 | Review of Borderlands Game of the Year Edition
This package includes the base game and all of the DLC, which will provide you with many, many hours of playtime well worth the cost. The game is an RPG shooter with 4 playable characters, each with different strengths, skill trees, and a unique special ability. There is definitely no shortage in loot and guns to find, which will keep you coming back for more.
The story is definitely a weak point of the game, if you like story based games, don't expect anything fantastic from borderlands. Although it more than makes up for the weak story with amazing game-play and FPS mechanics.
It is an enjoyable game played single player, however, the best part of the game is the co op experience playing with friends. The game has good replay value due to the fact that you can play through the game with the same character multiple times and also start fresh with a different character.
Short & SweetTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 23, 2013 | Review of DLC Quest
This game is not meant to be taken seriously and bashes games that release features as DLC that should come with the game. In this game you will need to buy literally everything as DLC, using coins collected in the game of course.
The game is quite short but will make you want to collect all the coins and try and get all the achievements. The game is very funny filled with numerous jokes and a crazy story. The game has limited replay value if you aren't interested in high scores and achievements. Oh and the game also comes with a free DLC expansion pack! Recommended for anyone with a good sense of humour.
Great Multiplayer Co-opTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 23, 2013 | Review of Payday 2
Similar to Payday: The Heist, except an improvement in almost every way possible. The only negative about this game would be single player. The game isn't intended to be played solo and it is very difficult especially with how useless the AI are. The multiplayer in the game is incredible, providing you with hours of fun gameplay. Playing with friends is definitely preferred as communication is important in the harder levels.
There is a new skill system in which you get to choose which skills you want from four different skill trees, each bringing something different to your heist team. You get to modify your own masks and weapons using the money you earn completing heists.
Every level plays out different every time you play it. Whether you prefer to stealth through the level or just wreak havoc instantly you are in control of what happens.
The game does get repetitive due to some of the heists being very similar and a lack of variety. The heist don't feel quite as satisfying to complete as some of the heists in the original game. A very good game but only if you enjoy multiplayer or have friends to play with.
Cave-aliciousTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 23, 2013 | Review of The Cave
The Cave is a fun game in which the player chooses three characters to use from seven, with each character having a different ability. Using the three chosen characters the player must complete different puzzles, some can be quite difficult.
The game is reasonably short, however, can be replayed using different characters giving a different story and different levels unique to each character. The cave is quite dark and humorous and an enjoyable game that is worth playing.
The game is very fun played in single player but even better when played with a friend.
Hours and hours of gameplayTPCGorillaMunch | Nov. 20, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2 (ANZ)
Borderlands was a great game, Borderlands 2 is even better than the original. There are improved skill trees that are much bigger and more interesting. The story is a big improvement including plenty of humour, particularly from Handsome Jack.
The single player itself is very enjoyable, however, the cooperative play is what makes this game one of my favourites of all time. Most of the DLC is also amazing and definately worth buying if you enjoy the base game.
All of the loot and guns in this game will keep you coming back for more and more and more.
