Not as good as I'd hoped.Thousandforms | Dec. 2, 2013 | Review of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
I'm new to assassins creed and I spent a good while looking at which one I should start with without trading off graphics etc.
I chose this one and well really I'm kinda disappointed by it.
Firstly: The number of cut scenes is truely annoying, sometimes inbetween cut-scenes you may only have to do one thing: 'press any button'-why?! and sometimes you just walk one more pace and it's yet another cut scene...
secondly: puzzle-esk things, at the beginning, the part in modern-time, the puzzles are repetative and boring.. they lacked inspiration, or action.
Thirdly: I was dissapointed to find out that all of those cool fight scenes- well theres only really one 'fight' button.. other than the dodge and grab, it's just x for attack and LT +X for counter attack.. I was just hoping for more..
Finally: My version is on uplay: I cant say whether this one is or not as I don't think I bought it from this site, but uplay sucks, it takes forever to download things, update, etc. slooow.
I havent given up on it yet, so I'll give it 40something... At least running across roofs is fun.....!
A must have for any gamer.Thousandforms | Dec. 2, 2013 | Review of Portal
It simply is a must have for any gamer, although the storyline is not extremely long it is a thoroughly good and well thought out one. very witty, challenging, and above all- freaking cool.
It was just a great implication of a simple idea that I've always imagined being a programming nightmare? - who knows maybe it wasn't hard, but it was well worth it.
If you haven't got either, than buy this one first - just for the storyline fun of it all. then make sure you buy the other one :D!
No spoilers but I really did appreciate when I thought the game would end- but didn't ;)
One of the finest games I've played.
Fun to pass the time, levels aren't well done though.Thousandforms | Nov. 19, 2013 | Review of DiRT 3
There are two key things I feel I should say:
Firstly: it looks great in game, the menus are a bit gimmicky and its a shame they don't let you take a proper look at the cars. but they don't look 'bad'. The gameplay looks great and that's what matters!
Secondly: The levels suck, you have 1-6 and it just seems to take x amount of seconds off each time (of your opponents finish time) if you're any good you'll just max out, I race on 5-6 always and don't settle for less than gold. admittedly I keep the racing line on but turn everything else off... Still it doesn't feel as fluid as it could. Also the mini goals in each race aren't affected by the difficulty level, I've never not got them!
Overall its good to pass the time, do a few races here and there and it keeps going for quite a while, but if you want to choose cars based on stats or anything like that, then it's not for you.
Awesome gameThousandforms | Nov. 19, 2013 | Review of Dead Island
Personally I think the story is pretty good, not sure what everyone else is complaining about!
I prefer it to some of the other zombie games I've've seen as, well, it isn't so scary haha, well it does make me jump at times and I've not completed it yet but still... its pretty big and fun to explore and loot everything, levels upgrades and guns its all pretty immersive!
I have only played it single player, unlike most others it seems, as I'm only recently getting back into computer games. but it's really good! it does take time to do properly though with single player as you cant just go 'zombie bashing' like everyone says, not unless you have a weapon way above your average skill level. With single player it's more about baiting and using the terrain to your advantage, and sometimes just pegging it. it's a shame there aren't more options to sneak in it really. The weapons are awesome-especially the mods! Guns are pretty cool but the lack of ammo capacity sucks.
I bought it for £4 in the sale and it's definitely worth a lot more than that!
Great narrative and good funThousandforms | Nov. 19, 2013 | Review of Call of Juarez®: Gunslinger
I've only played 2 hours so far but really enjoying it. The gameplay is intertwined with the storytelling, which 90% of the time is great, occasionally you just want to go all-out, but that's what arcade mode's for really. it looks great and the gun upgrades are pretty cool. I got it for about £6 and its definitely worth that, As its almost a play-through movie-esk idea I could see it being equally interesting t to play through again a few months down the line!
