The fifth game of The Elder Scrolls franchise. Skyrim is a unique roleplaying , action and adventure game that never, ever ends. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Add in the unlimited potential of modding, and it's an adventure that continues forever. For the first 30-50 hours, you will be completely absorbed in the beautiful and vast world. From big snowy mountains, to open plains and forests to big cities and villages. With seemingly endless opportunities for exploration and questing. As you proceed in a massive open-world with thousands of side quests, things to plant/gather/craft, and to fight, you can easily put hundreds of hours in this game. Even if you confine yourself to just the main quest. It is still quite a large scale game. This game truly deserves the title of "near perfection", being one of those rare milestones that comes every so often in years of gaming. Skyrim itself, is probably the best release from Bethesda's Elder Scrolls series. Story wise, this is one of the most developed storyline from the series, giving much enjoyment overall. A bloody Civil war between the Storm Cloaks and the Imperial army. But under the surface even more factions are fighting for turf, The Thieves guild, its glory long gone, strives to reclaim their title as masters of darkness. The Dark Brotherhood, crumbling and in despair seeks out new opportunities to return to the day when people feared them and respected them. The College of Winterhold, a old school for Mages, that fell into hard times after half of Winterhold fell into the ocean, uncovers a powerful relic that could allow Infinite wisdom or Infinite Destruction. That is just a sample of the deep story and background of skyrim. The world of skyrim IS alive. It also has very open advancement, and many opportunities to advance your skills in either magic, combat, or stealth (or a combination of all). You are not as restricted as in previous Elder Scrolls games (and they were very open). It even has perks - skill points you can place on skills to improve their function even more than leveling up. Great for those who like skill trees! The graphics are amazing, beautiful environment, the atmosphere, the sounds, the combats, everying is just amazing!!!
Fantastic!VenuSV | May 22, 2014 | Review of Wolfenstein: The New Order
In The New Order, the Nazis won World War 2 thanks to their super mysterious advanced technologies, forcing the entire world to surrender to their might, just BRILLIANT! I'm a fan of the Castle Wolfenstein franchise, and it has never felt so real and horrific as it did with the New Order. For the first time, it felt like fighting real evil and brutal Nazis. The game delivers a deep gaming experience packed with action, adventure and satisfying gunning down thousands of enemies, filled with blood spraying in fountains from their bodies and heads disintegrating and it all looks just spectacular. The level design also provides multipl routes of appraoch and flanking positions and plenty of cover to leapfrog to for both resistance fighters and Nazis, which makes it even more realistic and intense. Weapons can be gradually updated to ensure that firing doesn't get boring. However The New Order isn't just about the action, the characters succeeded to deliver several monologues with just the right amount of drama. Providing insights about needs, wants and fears, and with the remarkable acting and voicework, it all makes the ambience more believable. Magnificient graphics and pacing. Although personally, the only drawback in the game is the ammo recharging stations, as you need to stand there for several seconds to wait for the weapon to recharge all while eating shots. But still, The New Order is too damn fun!!
MasterpieceVenuSV | May 19, 2014 | Review of Tomb Raider
Lady archaeologist is back, only more beautiful than ever and in a total different atmosphere and a new gaming experience. I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider series, but rebooting it was the best thing that could have happened to it as the good old Tomb Raider cliché was getting dull. So being introduced to a whole new unexpected mature eperience was insanely satisfying. It was such a big risk that Crystal Dynamics took, but they succeeded and allowed us to join Lara in a terrific action packed adventure, and to watch her grow into a young strong woman, armed with determination and intelligence. In an outstanding environments and rewarding island exploration and puzzles. And mostly the improved combats and camera. they were one of the biggest steps forward to the series. Gorgeous graphics, stunning visuals, smooth animations, amazing cinematics, the details display, especially the hair, was beautifully made. The dialogues and acting are very believable, which creates a thrilling and gripping ambience. Must not think twice, this game is a must!
GrippingVenuSV | May 14, 2014 | Review of Alan Wake
Personally, Alan Wake was one of the best unique gaming experiences I've had. It's one of my all time favorite games and will be for ages. The storyline left me speechless everytime, one of the best I've experienced. This game is absolutely gorgeous! It has one of the best atmosphere I have seen. Outstanding forest environments, astounding lighting effects, smooth and fluid animations, amazing camera, perfect pacing, the attention to detail, the soundtracks, the acting and dialogues, the charachters development is all wonderfully done, and it all leaves you in an incredible cinematic experience. The presentation creates a genuine survival/horror ambience that's hard to shake and I couldn't imagine there's any way to improve it. Although the game might seem long and repetitive at some point, but with its gripping story and epic gameplay, you cannot help but want more. It is indeed a superb psychological action thriller that will keep you guessing the end. A brilliantly told ending that leaves you with questions more than answers. I think everyone needs to experience Alan Wake.
