So much power!

Vishnup | Dec. 31, 2012 | Review of Warhammer 40000: Space Marine (THQ)

Warhammer 40000 gives the player an amazing amount of power and it is absolutely amazing. The graphics of the game are beautiful and the gameplay, while fairly repetitive, is still an amazing amount of fun. The entire point of the game is to make you feel powerful and put you in to the place of an actual Space Marine which it does fairly well. The story wasn't all that for me, but I still absolutely loved the game and if you can pick it up on sale, definitely buy it.

Absolutely infuriating.

After some point in the game, the difficulty level just spikes, in a good way, of course. Most of the levels are rather short but they take a number of tries to beat them. The game is sufficiently better played with a gamepad, but I've been able to play with a keyboard so take that into account when buying the game. If you have any interest in the game at all, grab it, especially when it's on sale for 3.74 because it is definitely worth it.

Best played in Co-Op!

Vishnup | Oct. 23, 2012 | Review of Borderlands

Gearbox created a following for Borderlands 2 when they first created this masterpiece of a game. While the weapons do get a bit bland after playing through the game for a while, the loot system is still a ton of fun when different types of guns look way cooler than other types of guns, though they may be just as strong. The cel-shaded graphics that the game has become known for are what sets this game apart from games like Call of Duty and Battlefield which set out for a realistic gaming experience. Borderlands plays pretty well when using a mouse and keyboard, but if you're using a big monitor(TV sized), I'd definitely recommend a controller as even on high sensitivity the mouse doesn't move fast enough. The game is a stupendous work of art by gearbox. As the title says, the game is best played in Co-Op with a number of friends. There are more enemies to kill, more explosions, and of course, more loot.
