Great Reboot

ZindDB | July 11, 2013 | Review of Tomb Raider

I was never able to play the old Tomb Raider games for a long period of time, I always got bored or frustrated for various reasons. This time I played through this game in only 2 long sessions. The controls and mechanics even on PC have been greatly enhanced, the story (although nothing really innovative) is solid and the cinematic feeling is really great. As with most new games, the scavenging and role-playing elements bring a new small flavor in the game and makes it more noticeable that you progress and become stronger. Overall a great game and lots of fun, bundled with some awesome cinematic scenes and nice environments.

A Good Story

ZindDB | July 11, 2013 | Review of Alan Wake

Alan Wake is a game revolving around a writer of the same name. He has a creative block and is persuaded by his wife to visit a remote small town for some relaxation and inspiration. The only problem is the supernatural infestation which haunts the city. Alan Wake is a shooter-adventure with some interesting new mechanics, which at times can be really frustrating - although most of the time they bring a unique flavor to the game. The really strong side of this game is it's well written storyline and progression. If you are a fan of good storytelling and want to play something different from a normal shooter, don't pass up on this game!

A New Wind

ZindDB | July 11, 2013 | Review of Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock: Infinite is a shooter, whose game-play only stands in the way of the story. It's fun in the beginning but later becomes a tool to drag out the game as much as possible. Infinite could just as easily been a point and click adventure or something else, it wouldn't really matter, because the centerpiece of this game is the mind-blowing, incredibly well thought out story and plot twists, which bring a new wind in the stale storytelling of video games. It's ending is so incredible, that people, including me and my friends, have sat down and discussed and argued about it - trying to dissect and understand what exactly happened and why. You will never regret buying this game!
