The Hardest Games You'll Ever Play

angruss | Jan. 27, 2013 | Review of Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (1) - PC

This collection is amazing, and is worth it for UMK3 alone, but I have to complain about the difficulty. The learning curve is sharper than Kabal's hooks and twice as deadly. At no point will you say "This is too easy, lets go turn up the difficulty." I've owned this collection for a year and I've still not beaten any of the games. But that hasn't prevented me from having the funnest times of my life with it. I love every minute of getting up to the survival mode and then dying.

The REAL Max Payne 3.

angruss | Jan. 27, 2013 | Review of Alan Wake - PC

I LOVED the first Max Payne, but felt that Max Payne 3 was lacking, little did I know that it was the third Max in name only. The true Max 3 was Alan Wake, by Max 1+2 dev Remedy. Where Max 3 by Rockstar took the character and bullet time, they missed out on the run and gun fun of the original in favor of a cover-shooter. Alan Wake captured that and beyond with it's lack of cover and amazing light-mechanics. The atmosphere and mechanics of Alan Wake are nothing short of amazing, and yet the story manages to outshine almost everything else in gaming. Very few games deserve the same respect as a novel, and Alan Wake is definitely one of them.
