Medieval action in a first person coatasukhama | July 10, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Deriving from the chivalry mod, Medieval Warfare continues the concept of first person hand to hand combat. The game boasts several online modes ranging from king of the hill, (team) deathmatch to objective based maps and duels.
Graphically is it quite ok, although not the prettiest around, it does manage to settle the atmosphere quite good. It's a gritty and brutal experience.
The gameplay itself is all about skill. Moves have a great sense of impact and require a certain amount of practice before you can compete with the better players out there.
Sound is one of the better aspects, just as the animations show weight behind them, so do the sounds. The clinging of lighter weapons on heavy armor is well represented, as is the heavy blunt thump when using heavier weapon types like maces and halberds.
All in all, if you are a fan of first person, skill based action in a medieval setting, this is the game for you. I especially encourage M&B fans to definately check it out
