This is the game that takes The Elder Scrolls to the next level.

This is the start of what I like to think of as the "modern TES games", where the graphics really start to look sharp and far more impressive than its predecessors. From the very first time you create a character this game provides memorable moment after memorable moment.

I'll get my dislikes out of the way first as there are far less of them. Firstly, there's the voices of some of the NPC's. While most of them are ok, some just sound off in various ways (some of the female shopkeepers from memory). Secondly the combat momentum can sometimes feel slightly broken when you need to access your inventory and/or spells, and can be a little bit repetitive, and can be a little bit repetitive, and can be a little.....jump jump jump jump jump.

Ok so here's what I love about this game.

Customization, you can fine tune your spells to exactly how you want them, you can enchant your armour and weapons (jump jump jump) exactly how you want them. Unfortunately one of this games future instalments removes the high level of customization and leaves you demanding a whole lot more, NAUGHTY Skyrim! >:-|

Quests and missions, there is an excellent assortment of missions to complete earning you plenty of experience, gold, lore (jump) and professional standing in the many guilds available. Do you dare take the final steps and become the (jump) guild master?

Expansions, Bloodmoon and Tribunal. OMG amazing (jump) expansions that take this game to the next level. I did prefer Bloodmoon as I enjoyed that setting and topic a whole lot more (did I become a werewolf(with the omgwtfpowerjump)?? hell yeah!).

Crafting. So much customization and the need to actually go out and look for herbs and materials starts to turn this series crafting into something worthwhile. Potion masters will be gods looking down at the world from (jump...wait oh no not jump this time, potion of levitation...num num num).

The creatures inhabiting this small part of the world are amazing and have had so much imagination instilled into them that they are truly unique. The settings even more so, the landscapes are awesome to look out over. Even though the graphics are a bit dated now they still seem to impress me with every new character I create.

Character creation. Bethesda has done an excellent job in the character creation process which has continued through the rest of the series.

There is far too much to mention here without spoiling the game, it is packed with content and for the price you cannot get better value for money. This is a must for anyone who loves sandbox games where you create a story just by playing.

-3 points for voice acting -8 points for repetition required for skill increases
