Great game hindered by annoying camera and controlsbrandoshido | July 5, 2013 | Review of Jet Set Radio
I know the headline reads negatively but let me say outright that I LOVE THIS GAME. The tutorial walks you through everything you need to know, but even the tutorial is tough. Your skater feels incredibly floaty, and that camera is so gravely bad when you need it the most.
However, I still enjoy this game. The characters are fun to play, the soundtrack is just awesome and perfect for the mood of the game. The graphics still hold up pretty well even 10+ years later. So much of the game is just unique and refreshing. Creating your own pictures to tag on spots in the game worlds can take up a lot of time, and it's nice to have the creative control over it.
Play this game with a controller of some type, keyboard and mouse is something detestable.
Good, but not as good as Soul Reaver 1brandoshido | July 5, 2013 | Review of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2
I bought the entire LoK series last month because I had just purchased Blood Omen: LoK on ebay and the sales coincided. This game is large , and very good graphics for back in the day. There's lots to explore, and the story is genuinely good time. This means a lot coming from me, I skip everything story related, even in RPG's. Many of the mechanics are unchanged from the first game, so the game does get a little boring at times with the combat. I did run into an issue of the game asking for a disc to be inserted when I tried to install it.
My first MMObrandoshido | July 5, 2013 | Review of Guild Wars 2: Heroic Edition (NA)
I bought this game on a whim because a buddy promised to play it with me. Well, he didn't commit. This review is in the eyes of a complete MMO newbie, so keep that in mind. I don't typically play these, I tried WoW and was very, very underwhelmed.
The interface for this game was very confusing for me, and to this day I still don't have it quite fully understood. The auction house stuff in particular was difficult to grasp and isn't nearly as straightforward as say, Diablo III's. The graphics are very good for an MM (from what I've been told), and the combat was actually pretty fun too. However, these pro's didn't save me from becoming lost very quickly and ended up doing a lot of nothing constructive during my time playing.
Improves on the original in every waybrandoshido | July 4, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2 (NA)
If you played the first game and enjoyed, this game is perfect. Multiplayer is a blast and so is playing solo. The characters vary greatly and the DLC is worth it if you can pick it up on a sale. The legendary weapons are a fun grind and interesting effects.
