It's good... enough.

captainduncan | June 28, 2013 | Review of Borderlands 2 NA Overflow 1 - PC

Borderlands 2 had the opportunity to go leaps and bounds beyond the achievements of its predecessor, which was, to be entirely honest, a fluke of a success to begin with. While it addresses some of the issues that affected the original Borderlands' port to Windows, such as a lack of graphics options and PC-oriented controls, Borderlands 2 doesn't manage to completely shake some of the bugbears of console-first development. The UI is particularly atrocious, and is arguably not much better than that of the first game. Aside from these minor qualms, Borderlands 2 is by-and-large similar to the first game, and that's not a downside, if that's your thing. While it isn't exactly my cup of tea, it's a competent enough sequel that changes just enough of the original formula to maintain the appearance of being fresh, while appealing to its core fans. Borderlands 2 is a good jumping-on point for those unfamiliar with the series, but if you weren't impressed with Gearbox's initial offerings, its sequel won't do much more for you.
