War at home, Napoleon as a guest...ccccp | July 23, 2013 | Review of Napoleon: Total War Collection
For me it is one of the best strategy games on PC. Being a fan of the series I loved this episode. The graphics are very impressive even if your PC is not powerful, the atmosphere of the game and the sound quality are really thinking about a war that is going on in your home. Otherwise this game will satisfy you for decades with his conquest mode, the battles of Napoleon and all other battles ... this is a must have for strategic gamers.
A star that shines and burnsccccp | July 23, 2013 | Review of The Void
A game of a rare intelligence ! But how can you judge a fabulous, very original game, that is probably a bit too hard? I am almost tempted to remove points, as the level of difficulty is extreme. But ultimately no, because this game mixes brillantly reflection, poetry and originality. The principle is the one of a terribly addictive game. By cons, it is almost necessary to visit forums related to the title to move forward when you're stuck (and possibly resort to cheat codes left by the developers to reduce the difficulty). Anyway, if a poetic reflection adventure tempts you, so do not hesitate any longer. You might love the colors like never before!
Mo'MOBA like this one please !ccccp | July 23, 2013 | Review of Awesomenauts
This game is just great. The characters are all original and they offer very different gameplays. I play a little league of legends, and not being a fan, I can say very clearly. I much prefer Awesomenauts. Though it is true that there is not a lot of levels and characters, but over time they will come probably to fill this gap. Another simply amazing feature, the ability to play split screen (even on PC) locally or online. For a game like this is it's just perfect.
Gotta kill them all !ccccp | June 11, 2013 | Review of Overlord II
As excellent as the first game, Overlord 2 offers you an evil epic steeped in humor and parody of joyful tale of chivalry. What if this is it's always a pleasure to do evil and evil can now expand its land to the nose of the glorious empire. The news are not many, but the change of scenery really is that we take the trouble to manhandle the minions, faithful servants of the overlord! The atmosphere is successful, there are very few bugs and the story is amusing. In short, this game is a treat and I especially recommend it to those with a penchant for the wacky games can also be an Overlord.
Be bad !!ccccp | June 11, 2013 | Review of Overlord
Tired of playing a hero without charisma and a greed that even a potato can beat? So Overlord is for you! Discover the joys of chaos, fearful of the shame lies in you! Become the Overlord! Immerse yourself in a heroic-fantasy world where only joy and happiness are your enemies! Plunder, kill, assassinate! Do as you like, but remember, being the Overlord implies responsibilities ... Aside from that the game is great, though it's aging graphically, but it's always good to do evil in the meantime !
Really good racing careerccccp | May 31, 2013 | Review of DiRT 2
I recently bought this game, well I must say I'm not disappointed. I play with a xbox360 controller, there is immediately a good feeling and driving is very nice. The downside is all the trash with the other drivers, I personally do not care to be a buddy or not with dave mirra and most clenching is when they talk during races. Graphics are very nice . The career is amazing. Maneuverability is the same kind as Grid, between arcade and simulation. Do not miss this game! Only fault I found the menu a little confusing, not very clear but the loading animations are great so we soon forget that little detail. Superb!
Welcome to the theatre...ccccp | May 31, 2013 | Review of Theatre of War DNS
What matters here is strategy. Or rather tactics (yes, shame, still no total war 39-45). And at tactical level, this is good ... very good ... Swing your men in the open and there will be a small pile of dead flesh in three bursts. Stash your men with a blanket of tanks or artillery when you can and you will maintain a strategic point several minutes time to launch a minor side attack with armored units. We feel the fragility of units, but also the usefulness of some of them. Be advised to use the infantry to check for Panzerfausts. We are obliged to attempt a foot movement ahead of our tanks to prevent adverse armored responses . It is very realistic and well done. Otherwise, it's ugly, but it has the merit of making a huge effort (if farcry enjoyed a valid scenario, you do not spit it, here it is the reverse). I don't think it is easy to handle (but do not hesitate to try the world of wargaming then open to you).
A band of RTS brothersccccp | May 29, 2013 | Review of Order of War
Order of the war is a good RTS that takes us once again to the heart of this war. Finally, it is a kind of version of World in Conflict set in World War II through two campaigns. The gameplay is like in other str, you must capture points to gain control of resources and deploy reinforcements. The music is a good soundtrack made by Jeremy Soule. The sound effects are not left out and are successful too. The graphics are really beautiful, the details are astounding and everything is realistic (except soldiers animations ). Length is quite good and multiplayer is still active (war challenge, which is free on Steam if you own the original order of war). Negatives points are the only ten missions for both campaigns and AI which sometimes is a little weird.
As good as goldccccp | May 29, 2013 | Review of Industry Giant 2 Gold
The graphics and music are of course old fashioned (2004), but this is an excellent management game, very successful at the heart of the game: the management. Neither too simple nor too complex, the game offers a gradual learning curve and a choice of game (free or campaign). There is always something to do, and you can always improve something. Even the short campaigns are a success! Nothing is extraordinary (graphics, sound, concept, construction) but the whole is really successful, and any management gamer fan should have at least tried it !
Gold edition features the addon which provides 40 years of additional gameplay from 1980 to 2020, new means of transport and new stores. Parts of the interface is redesigned , the ability to manage increased,a map editor, new goods, ... The game becomes much better even through these 40 years, lenght is now 120 years instead of 80 in original game. There is a big difference with the arrival of mobile phones, Biofuels, modern and futuristic trucks and more.
Definitely a good pickccccp | May 25, 2013 | Review of RAGE: Special Edition (Europe)
Talking about the graphics, I suffered numerous bugs launch, but after installing the correct driver, I have been more than surprised: the graphics are simply amazing, and they give a unique identity to This game. You get immersed in a truly unique environment. Then gameplay is a mix between FPS and RPG, even if the FPS dimension is present. The game is no less enjoyable, offering a respectable number of different weapons, but equally pleasant to use. The creation of ammunition and accessories is itself a forge killing machines, with ammunition still give more personality to the weapons and strange machines like spiders turrets. A special mention for the Wingstick, it was love at first sight, a real pleasure! All this takes us through a successful in a post-apocalyptic scenario, immersion is immediate, and if it seems to remain unsatisfied with the arrival of this journey this is because, the adventure is intense from start to finish.
Scoring Commander ?ccccp | May 25, 2013 | Review of Cargo Commander
Cargo Commander is an original game of platforms and provides a lot of thrills. Changes of gravity, giving the feeling of being inside a washing machine, and frantic races to try to escape the vortex that devours everything around you provide an exhilarating experience. Too bad that despite its random variable, the concept fairly quickly shows its limits, by the lack of renewal, so you should rely on scoring to make the pleasure last longer. This is a typical example of the game that will appeal to restart from time to time to check where your friends got up to and try to rob them the high score.
Take Kairo...ccccp | May 20, 2013 | Review of Kairo
After Antichamber that made us lose our bearings in a timed maze, here is Kairo. There is no particular link between the two, except to navigate in an unusual area or simply outfield. Where, how, why? Kairo takes us into a world of relatively simple graphics, through large rooms where you have to find the trick, the mechanism to create an energy, unlock a passage, a flow, which then leads us to always carry a little further to another section. This is quite minimalistic, like the sound atmosphere. This simply ask some thoughts sometimes to understand the link between the proposed venues and how to create events that will lead to continuing our path. For those who appreciate the universe where nothing is known in advance that it is not explicit, where everything is strange and cubic, then immerse in it. The game offers a few hints that can help without actually indicate how to solve the puzzles, which is pretty good. The difficulty seems rather well proportioned. It is simply to observe well and find good deduction.
The revival of Survivalccccp | May 20, 2013 | Review of Don't Starve
Take a part of Terraria (for exploration, harvesting and crafting), mix with a few grams of DayZ (for survival and hardcore aspect with final death and hostile environment), add a few pinches of Amnesia (the mental health driven gameplay) and coat everything in a topping of the best films of Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow) and you get it! Don't Starve is a delicious wedding cake, though sometimes (often) bitter, with a simple but diabolical gameplay, rich mechanical where your every action can cost you a lot, short or long term (all those who have deforested a bit know what I mean).
No cake is a lie...ccccp | May 20, 2013 | Review of Q.U.B.E.
Q.U.B.E. is a good but fairly standard game of puzzle. This game is very similar to Portal, that is to say that the player is dropped into a building with a very sleek design and must pass the various rooms one by one to progress. The atmosphere is quite similar, but there is absolutely no narration and even less GLaDOS to accompany you.
The enigmas are based on different color blocks embedded in the walls or in the ground. For example, the blue block can blow whatever falls on it, the red block can stretch in a pavement of three blocks long, yellow blocks can turn into stairs ... You gradually learn all kinds of new "powers" t, which allows the game to be constantly renewed. The problem is that the challenge comes too late: half of the game is going smoothly, and only a handful of rooms (the last) are really difficult. It is a pity, especially as the game is quite short (between 4 and 6 hours).
Still, a good time spent with QUBE, and even if he suffers by comparison with Portal (which it is based), it is nevertheless a good puzzle game.
For Trekkies only ?ccccp | May 20, 2013 | Review of Star Trek
Behind current both technical and graphic level standards , this game is still acceptable. The setup displays interface and optimization designed for console architecture. The gameplay copies already known genres and accumulates their defects, without really making it to the best. However, the dialogues (although they require too much attention) correspond to the film and the characters' psychology is intact. So it may be a must-have for Star Trek fans. This game has the merit of encouraging cooperation in the manner of Deadspace 3. Although obsolete in every aspect, it probably does not deserve the medium rating.
Hardcore and gore, like Middle Age certainly wasccccp | May 19, 2013 | Review of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
It is beautiful without being beautiful, there are still bugs lurking ... but sounds very good and especially make it a KILLER GAME literally! Both nag, gore and technique. It's a little hard to get to the gameplay at the beginning and you have to be willing to suffer (and die elsewhere) a while, but once mastered about we realize that we can not let go !
Despite its flaws this game is packed with fun. But after adding (already planned) new content (maps, weapons ...) and fixing bugs, Chivalry might deserve a good 90 !
However, this style of game is a little bit different and is not suitable for all types of players:
Similar to Assassin's Creed ... but not as goodccccp | May 15, 2013 | Review of The First Templar
Take the Assassin's Creed Franchise. Replace Ezio by a French Knight from the Order of the Templars. The action takes place in oriental world in 13th century. Our hero has to fight ennemies (Saracens, traitors, Inquisition forces) to overrun a big scale plot. The trouble is, graphics and action are not as good as in the AC games, but they do the job. Anyway, our hero is not alone : you can control his alter ego, a lady. Or a friend can join you in an online coop or on the same computer. That's quite fun, fights are quite messy. The game is 15 hours long.
Really flat nowccccp | May 10, 2013 | Review of Flatout
This game has been a limit-pusher regarding of the type of gameplay offered in racing games. You have to be fast, precise, and vicious. Your car and your opponent's ones suffer from shocks and crashes : you see it on the screen and feel it in your wheel (or pad or keyboard). You can go through many fences and barrers and obstacles to try to win the race. The trouble is, the IA is too close to your skill. As seen in other racing titles, if you're in the last position, your opponents don't make a huge difference. Be in the first place and they fly ! So many races will end in a final lap where everything is possible regardless if you've driven good or not. Your skills are not so important. Race for the fun only...
Eye candy and pads feastccccp | May 9, 2013 | Review of Trine
Trine is gorgeous. Trine is fun. Trine is co-op playable on the same computer. And you should keep in mind that Trine is not easy if you don't have at least one fellow to share the adventure. All effects, backgrounds, evil creatures are so well designed and animated that Trine looks like a cartoon movie sometimes. But it's a Platformer-Hack-Fairy Tale-and Slash game. Fights, physic enigmas, precise jumps can turn the story into a die and retry experience. The old Prince of Persia, ou Mario and Luigi in dark fantasy are quite an idea of what is this excellent game. Advice : a good controller (X box game pad or else) is useful.
In the mood... thanks to the musicccccp | May 9, 2013 | Review of Mafia II dns
Mafia 2 is quite a good game in itself. The drag is, if you loved the first game (this means you're tasty), you will find it not that good. The town is the star of the game anyway. The characters are too much "hollywood bad boys style". They lack what you love in gangsters on TV : honor and humanity. Trash talking is overwhelming and useless. That's why I don't let my son play it for now. The soundtrack is amazing. Gunfights and driving sequences are so-so. You will miss real dangerous cops. The authors of the story made a thin but great link to the first Mafia game. You'll love it if you remember the first one.
The end is ... ridiculous.
