Oh my god, they killed Kennedy!crispybacon1234 | July 7, 2014 | Review of Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City
Yes, that is one of the options you can choose endgame. Not a spoiler, as it's non-canon. If I've already upset you, leave now.
Still here? Great. So, is this game good? Depends on your perspective. If you're looking for a classic Resident Evil experience, then no, pack your bags and leave this game alone. With friends, this game can be a blast. Without friends, you'll probably want to sell it in the first 10 minutes.
Overall, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a great, flawed zombie-filled game that has very split opinion. Will you enjoy it? Only one way to find out...
Assassin's Greedcrispybacon1234 | July 7, 2014 | Review of Assassin's Creed Liberation HD - Bonus Pack
This game actually has DLC? Didn't expect that...
Anyway, you get two weapons - the Pirate Scimitar (which should belong in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but hey, why not?) and the Voodoo Dagger. On top of this, you get two upgrades - the Gun Powder Pouch (for some extra "boom") and Poison Dart Pouch upgrades.
All in all, this is not much for the asking price. Extra weapons are fun, but I'd only recommend this pack to those who truly adore the Assassin's Creed series.
Gear grindingly goodcrispybacon1234 | July 7, 2014 | Review of Gears of War 2 - Classics
So, Gears of War got a sequel. Must be a good game, huh? Well, good doesn't even come close to what this game is.
Cut Locust scum to pieces with a chainsaw bayonet, slap frag grenades onto enemies and watch their guts cover your screen, rage quit when your teammate is within 1 metre of you before your head is curb stomped by an opposing player.
10/10, would play any day of the week.
Aliens vs. Marinescrispybacon1234 | July 1, 2014 | Review of Aliens: Colonial Marines
Aliens: Colonial Marines. Sounds like an interesting premise? It would be, if it didn't have so many flaws. The gameplay is somewhat repetitive, enemies are overpowered. Hell, even some of the lore is incorrect, and we all know what that means to the fans.
In short, this is a good game to play, but there are others worth your time...
One hell of a ride!crispybacon1234 | June 30, 2014 | Review of RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Platinum (MAC)
First things first...
You can make rollercoasters.
Wasn't that your childhood dream? One day, you could make the craziest, sadistic, most heart-racing ride known to mankind. Prepare yourself, as those dreams could become reality. As far as gameplay goes, this game has a lot of customisation options, whether it be short sweet rides or hellishly long ones.
Due to customisation, this game is very fun to replay. There are a few flaws here and there, but overall this is an enjoyable experience. Buy it! Have fun! MAKE RIDES!
Costly, but worth itcrispybacon1234 | June 27, 2014 | Review of PlayStation®4 500GB: Assassins Creed IV Black Flag Bundle
So, what exactly do you get with this bundle? Well, firstly there's the actual console - the PlayStation 4. This piece of hardware proved to live up to its hype, and is continuing to grow. So many games have and will be released for it, so in short it has huge potential. Additionally, you get one of next-gens best games - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Many changes have been made, but many improvements have been added. Black Flag will comfortably find its place alongside the PS4, and the rest of the games you'll end up buying.
The Force Is Strong With This Onecrispybacon1234 | June 27, 2014 | Review of Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition (MAC)
Damn straight! This game is flawless, even today. Star Wars fans are sure to love this game. Play as Starkiller, apprentice to the infamous Darth Vader. Slice and dice through countless stormtroopers whilst experiencing one of the best Star Wars stories to date.
This game will be worth your time.
BOOM! Headshot...crispybacon1234 | June 27, 2014 | Review of Sniper Elite III
So far, I can safely say that I am not disappointed with this game. To be honest, this game hosts the best sniping experience you can get (without holding an actual gun, of course). The kill-cam remains as gory as ever, and the improved character customisation is a joy to work with.
So all in all, this game sharp-shoots its way to a good review.
The Dark Knight Risescrispybacon1234 | June 27, 2014 | Review of Batman Arkham Origins
You play as Batman. That should be the main selling point to this game. Pull out your Batarang, suit up, and glide through the streets of Gotham, putting down petty criminals one at a time.
Moving on from my Batman fantasies, Batman: Arkham Origins is a great prequel to a great series. Whilst Rocksteady may have loosened their grip on the game, it remains true to the others. Great combat, great story, great gameplay.
Buy this game.
GEMS!crispybacon1234 | June 26, 2014 | Review of Bejeweled 3
There is nothing like kicking back and busting some gems. Yes, this is Bejewelled 3. Gone are the days when you'd just play a single game mode. there are 8 different ways to play. 8! That is a lot of ways, especially as this game is challenging yet fun to play. Give it a shot, it'll be worth your time.
4 great Popcap games for a good pricecrispybacon1234 | June 26, 2014 | Review of Popcap Hits Vol 2
Firstly, I'd like to point out that for the price, the games you receive aren't half bad, especially as they're on console and you can earn achievements.
Zuma, Feeding Frenzy 2 and Heavy Weapons are all decent games to kill time, but the real jewel in this collection is the famed "Plants vs Zombies". Feel free to read other reviews on how great this game is, but I'll tell you now, it's worth your time.
Anyway, all in all, 4 great games. Some are ok, and some are memorable. Have fun!
3 years later...crispybacon1234 | June 23, 2014 | Review of Final Fantasy XIII-2
...and a lot has changed. Not just in the story, but in the gameplay. Despite it's sometimes infuriating difficulty, Final Fantasy XIII proved to be one of my favourite games. It's sequel does advance in some areas, but others are restricted.
The gameplay in Final Fantasy XIII-2 is somewhat improved, with random battles and interactive cutscenes. On the other hand, memorable characters from the previous game seem to be missing. If you enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII, then I would highly recommended this game. If not, give it a go anyway, as the story is explained.
Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?crispybacon1234 | June 23, 2014 | Review of Far Cry 3 - The Lost Expeditions
It's when you release DLC over and over again, expecting it to be different the next time. Far Cry 3 tries to improve what is already an outstanding game by adding 2 additional missions. In a nutshell, these "bonus" missions prove to be nothing more than time-fillers. They have no build on story, and thus lack anything special. If you enjoyed the Far Cry 3 experience, leave this DLC, as good memories are better than wasted money.
Heista La Vista, Baby!crispybacon1234 | June 22, 2014 | Review of Payday 2
Buy this! Stop reading this review, you fool! you have banks to rob, gold to pillage, cops to kill! why are you reading this, buy the game, live out your heist dreams and go get your payday!
(100/100, this game is perfection. Anyone who argues with that statement will receive a visit from Bain's 4 top thieves)
Massive Effectcrispybacon1234 | June 22, 2014 | Review of Mass Effect 2
The title sums up what this game has been on my gaming life. Without this game, I would never have found the true beauty of games. Many elements are perfectly mixed into this game - RPG, action, shooter. With a combination like this, you'd expect it to fall apart, However, Mass Effect 2 achieves the complete opposite. Buy this game, but please buy Mass Effect 1 first, You'll need the story to fully enjoy this series of games.
Dead Island - DLC editioncrispybacon1234 | June 18, 2014 | Review of Dead Island Riptide
What was meant to be a DLC for Dead Island managed to become a full game, known as Dead Island Riptide. From the word "go" this feels exactly like the last game. There are a few differences, such as enemies, weapons and locations, but overall it feels like a re-run of the first game. If you felt the first game was too short, this will suit your needs. If not, then this island may seem dead to you...
Judgement daycrispybacon1234 | June 18, 2014 | Review of Gears of War Judgement
Judgement. Ironic that word is in the games title, as the reception this game received in the first few months had a lot of judgement. Is it a good game? Yes. Is it as good as the previous games? No. Whilst Judgement does prove to be fun with new weapons, areas, enemies, and coop, it does fall behind in two key areas - multiplayer and story. The multiplayer is drastically changed from the previous games, providing smaller maps and a choice of starting weapons. With everyone having a frag grenade on spawn, the multiplayer is truly chaotic. The story, if there even is a story, is Judgement's biggest downfall. The previous games provided a memorable campaign against Locust hordes, whereas this game pits you and your squad against Locust for no particular story reason, again and again. If you want a true Gears game, I would recommend the games preceding (or chronologically following) this game. Like I said, not a bad game, but mistakes were made.
Be The Weaponcrispybacon1234 | June 17, 2014 | Review of Crysis 2: Maximum Edition
Yes, it is possible to complete this game with very little use of firearms. That isn't a bad thing. In fact, it suggests that you can use yourself to kill most enemies in this game (or in my case, bypass them, but I abused the cloak ability...). You can throw an enemy across Wall Street, you can pass through the Concrete Jungle invisible and undetected, and you can even analyse all that your enemy is with your enhanced vision. Throw away your guns, the Nanosuit is what makes this game what it is...
These games...crispybacon1234 | June 17, 2014 | Review of Mass Effect Trilogy
...are amazing. If I went into detail over how much I adore the Mass Effect series, the review could be near endless. OK, first things first, all three of these games are perfection. Whilst the gameplay in the first Mass Effect is different to the last two, all 3 are still very fun to play. The story is very interactive, with you being able to take your character down the root of good or evil. Sounds average, but the depth in which these decisions effect the outcome is something every player should consider. With so many planets to explore and countless hours of gameplay from this trilogy, these games are sure to have a mass effect on your game-life.
Blood, sweat, and more blood.crispybacon1234 | June 13, 2014 | Review of Gears Of War - Classics
Gears of War really sets the bar high when it comes to fitting gore into a video game. After playing through the first few chapters, you'll forget that blood is even disgusting - there is just so much of it! Anyway, the actual game is outstanding. The cover mechanics are great, combined with a variety of enemy Locust to cut to pieces with your trusty chainsaw bayonet.
This truly is a classic.
It's Simple... We play the Batmancrispybacon1234 | June 13, 2014 | Review of Batman Game of the Year Pack
After playing through this game, I cant think of any way to describe it other than it being amazing. First of all, you get to play as Batman. Face it - who wouldn't want to? On top of this, there is a whole city environment to explore, a carefully thought out fighting system, and a variety of enemies to dispatch.
So, it really is simple, Buy the Batman.
