Not as spectacular as the first one.digitalpunk | Dec. 9, 2012 | Review of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
As it happens in most cases the sequel of a great game it's a bit of disappointment. With that said it's clear that it's not on par with the first game on any level but it's well worth a try. The combat is not as challenging as the first FEAR, the atmosphere it's still scary but with a lot more cheap scary moments and F.E.A.R's 2 biggest plus: the story.
If you didn't get to play this yet, BUT IT.digitalpunk | Dec. 9, 2012 | Review of F.E.A.R -
I remember my experience with this game when it got released in 2005, superb atmosphere, great shooting, great story and beautiful graphics (the game looks very good even by today's standards).
It's a mix of FPS and atmospheric horror, you'll get a couple of jump scares too and as I stated before the story is great..very mysterious.
I recommand this game to every horror/mystery fan.
This game should be called S.H.O.O.T.digitalpunk | Dec. 9, 2012 | Review of F.E.A.R. 3
Well, about the title: This isn't F.E.A.R, it's just a generic shooter with FEAR's name on the cover. It's not a bad game, it's actually decent but there are no scares. no FEAR atmosphere, not even the shooting is as good a the first FEAR.
It has some fun COOP but that's it.
Such a great experience.digitalpunk | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Alan Wake
Alan Wake is not scary, it's more of a mystery/thriller.That's all i'm saying about the story, it's a good story so i'll let you unveil the mystery. Now about the game. The best part: Atmosphere. It's GREAT. Play it with headphones or surround system for the best experience and of course at night or with a dim light. Gameplay wise it's nothing spectacular, 3rd person shooter usual stuff
If you are a Twin peaks fan, Shining fan or just a Mystery/Horror fan (as I am) you'll love this game.
Best game for some, maximum frustration for others.digitalpunk | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (NA)
For me Dark Souls is one of the best games in history, it's a masterpiece, a beautiful experience. If you are not old enough to have played older games (Castlevania,Battletoads,Metroid and other games from their generation), or didn't have the chance or curiosity to play those games, you should really try this game too get an idea of how games were supposed to be designed and played. BEWARE, this is not your typical "hold my hand game", not at all. You have to think, struggle to stay alive, fear death like in no other game, explore (you have no map at all so you'll need to memorize all the zones) and be PREPARE TO DIE.
Borderlands 2 feels a bit too familiardigitalpunk | Dec. 8, 2012 | Review of Borderlands 2 DNS
I really loved the first game, the mix of RPG and shooting, the quests, the story, absolutely loved the artistic style, the coop (although what I really disliked was the common drops, witch it's the same in Borderlands 2). With that beautiful experience I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 right away hoping to get something as special as the first game was..BUT for me it feels a bit too familiar, it's like Borderlands 1 with new locations and characters. Don't get me wrong, it's as beautiful as the first game and it will suck you in it's universe for a long time, however don't expect something really new or different. Great game nevertheless.
