'Nam never was that fundottore_46 | April 20, 2011 | Review of Magicka: Vietnam DLC
The Vietnam DLC pack for Magicka does not follow the usual path of nowadays DLCs, which include sometimes content of lesser value. The pack includes new scenarios and spells, some of which are really funny, such as the napalm attack. Together with the new spells, there are two maps where you can fight modern enemies equiped with miniguns, grenades, etc... It includes one new mode where you can fight swarms of enemies in order to obtain the best record. As with the original game, it is better and more fun if played coop.
The best strategy againdottore_46 | April 15, 2011 | Review of Sid Meier's Civilization® V
I've playing Civilization games since the 90's and the first game. I really enjoy this series always as it guarantees hours and hours of quality strategy gaming. The last stand of the series, while does not reach the excellence of Civilization IV, has a more polished technical engine, with pretty graphics and sound. Thge gameplay has changed deeply from Civ IV as there is not religion and the interplay of city-states in the game changes the routine. Also it should be noted that the game changes the way cities are managed as it is possible to buy plot of land arounnd the city instead of waiting for increases in the level of culture and now units do not stack in the same square/hexagon when attacking, which changes the approach to battles.
Good idea but buggy and boring gameplaydottore_46 | April 15, 2011 | Review of Reign: Conflict of Nations DNS
I took the game during the promotion and believed it to be another rare gem from the guys of 1C like king's bounty or fantasy wars. However, this game does not reach the fun level of the former. The graphics and sounds are ook for normal gamers. However, the gameplay is rather unoriginal and is full of bugs and irrational AI.
Dissappointingdottore_46 | April 13, 2011 | Review of Imperium Romanum: Gold Edition DNS
This game has some reputation in some Mediterranean countries, so I hopped this would be a good game as I enjoy strategy games. However, the game is rather dissapointing, firstly, because the graphics are quite dated. The gameplay is really repetitive and rather bugged and it is easy to get bored within a couple of days.
Tropico is fundottore_46 | April 13, 2011 | Review of Tropico 3 DNS
This is one of last year's surprises. I've never played to the tropico saga before, but this game is just pure fun. The graphics are beautiful and colourful, but the best technical point of the game is the radio, where the presenter updates you about the status of your little country with the rythm of caribean music. The gameplay is really polished, overcoming other city biulding games such as as cities Xl, but not reaching the sophistication of Simcity 4. However, the amount of fun and references, such as El Presidente's Swiss bank account, will keep people playing and happy.
