Fun and good. The perfect couple.

dukenukem | July 18, 2011 | Review of Magicka

Funny, witty, with constant dev support. What else could you ask from a $10 game?

Magicka is a great game. Not even a buggy release can take that away from this little budget priced title. And the bugs quickly became a thing of the past thanks to constant dev support (patches rolled out REAL quick!)

From the hilarious dialogue and stereotypical characters to the superb magic system the game exhudes quality. Buy it if you want hours of fun and experimenting. The magic combinations are truly an innovative take in game spellcasting. You discover a new spell every minute. Buy it if you want a coop game. Buy it if you want a coop survival game. and if you are unsure... Try the demo!!!!

This game redefines "improvement"

dukenukem | July 18, 2011 | Review of Assassins Creed Brotherhood

When I first heard about "AC:Brotherhood" my thoughts were mixed. On the one hand, I was excited. On the other hand, I thought "meh, they are going to cash in the success of AC2" and forgot about it. Then, I saw it in action on a friend's PC and thought "It's actually quite good". Turns out I wasn't wrong. The game redefines the word "improvement". Almost everything that made AC2 great is here in a refined way. The varied missions are here. The combat has been improved. The graphics are better. There's a lot more to do, from recruiting assassins to finding new memories which will help you understand better the story (which is quite good albeit somewhat far fetched). Add a multiplayer mode which feels right at home with the franchise and you've got a winner. This game deserves to be played, it really shows that Ubisoft has come a long way since the first Assassin's Creed.

Better than "Diablo with guns"

dukenukem | July 18, 2011 | Review of Borderlands

This game is a strange case. It was advertised as "Diablo with guns" but it's actually a lot better than that. It´s one of the first succesful merges between the FPS genre and the RPG genre, doing so in an aesthetically brilliant way. But it´s not only the graphics here. The gameplay is brilliant also. From the satisfaction of the "Critical hit" text when you score headshot after headshot to the expectation when you open a chest ("what kind of crazy weapon i'm going to find here" kind of expectation) Borderlands totally nails the gameplay mark. If you want a good game which will totally be worth your time buy it. If you want the most bang for your buck buy it too, in my first playgthrough I spent 1 day and 15 hours (without playing the DLC's which are quite good from what I've heard).
