A brilliant South Park game.

face15 | March 6, 2014 | Review of South Park The Stick of Truth POST (1) - PC

This game captures the look and comedic style of the South Park TV show. If you're a fan of that show you'll probably love this game. It's very funny and has a lot of references and fan service cutting deep back into the shows 17 season run. In terms of the gameplay itself, it's surprisingly good. This definitely isn't the greatest RPG ever made but it's competent and the skill trees, loot and character progression are satisfying. The active battle system is fun too. At only about 10-15 hours the length is a little disappointing but the game is so densely packed with comedy bits and unique gameplay that you don't really notice. If you're just looking for a RPG there are many deeper more complex games in the genre out there, but if you're a fan of South Park then this will be an extremely satisfying experience. Highly recommended!

Unbelievable Value

face15 | March 3, 2014 | Review of 2K Essential Collection AU - PC

The four games in this bundle are legitimately some of my most favourite and well-made games from the past decade. If you haven't played any of these games at this price this bundle becomes a must-buy. Even if you've played only one or two of the games included here it is still of an amazing value because all four of them are absolutely stellar and come highly recommended. Civilization V and XCOM: Enemy Unknown are among the best turn based strategy games ever made and BioShock Infinite and Borderlands 2 are in a similar position in the first-person shooter genre. I really cannot stress enough that if you haven't played these fantastic games, you should, and you are unlikely to come accross such a good deal again.

The Ultimate Civilization Experience

face15 | Feb. 19, 2014 | Review of Civilization V Complete AU - PC

Sid Meier's Civilization is a well-loved and long running PC turn based strategy game franchise which sees you, the player, leading a civilization from early nomads to modern space-farers. Civilization V brought the series to near perfection, simplifying the user interface and making it more approachable to new users while maintaining a staggering depth of control and information for more advanced players. The gameplay is fun and always engaging and it's easy to lose track of time and find yourself playing at 3 in the morning telling yourself, 'Just one more turn.' This Complete Edition brings a number of new addition which improve on many of the existing systems in the game and add some new ones entirely; like religion and espionage which balance the late game to keep it more interesting where before it could start to get stale. This is a near perfect strategy game and definitely the best the storied Civilization franchise has ever been. Whether you've never played a Civ game before, or you're a series veteran, Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition comes very highly recommended.
