Had potential but could have been bettergasheadgeorge | Dec. 19, 2013 | Review of The Guild 2
This game is what you might expect – very similar to the Sims but set in medieval times and very focused to the individual aspects of medieval life. The game play is quite profound and complicated but any keen and advanced gamers should have no problems with it after a couple (or maybe a little bit more) plays. I would definitely not recommend if you do not like strategic games as you are mainly rewarded in the game for playing strategically. The tutorial isn't great, it shows you more what buttons to press rather than teach you the game. The graphics are good but the game has a few little bugs and glitches, although this didn't affect me too much. I like the new feature that you can choose more of a rogue path as a thief as most games don’t let you choose the darker side, even though they are normally included in the game as AI. Overall a good game but could have been so much better.
Nifty gamegasheadgeorge | Dec. 18, 2013 | Review of Millennium 3 [Playfire]
This game has a great story line, focused very much on the main character Marine's quest to find 13 warriors; this is not all to the story as there is a side-line mini quest also. Game play is good, the game is very addictive and surprisingly the game is very long, this is good though as you definitely get good value for money. There are also a few little humorous parts in the game. Graphics are very basic but expected as the game is only 2 Dimensional, however the levels are generally big and have a good map to them which enhances the feel of the game. Music is OK, this all depends on your own personal taste I guess. Overall it’s a very nice game and seeming it’s only £2.49 at the moment you are definitely getting good value for money.
Great puzzle gamegasheadgeorge | Dec. 18, 2013 | Review of Dark Arcana: The Carnival - Digital Collector's Edition
The game’s main aim is to explore the disappearance of a child’s mother; you play as a detective trying to reunite the child with her mother, to do this you must solve puzzles and play mini-games varying in complexity. The game has a dark spooky theme, the location being a theme park. The game has a very good story line with a very clever “twist” which I will not reveal. Good sound effects creating the eerie tension which is added to by the gloomy scenery, graphics are visually appealing which adds to the feel of the game. There are three difficulty modes which suits the game to a range of gamers with different abilities. Overall this is a great game with fun game play and a captivating story line.
A must have!gasheadgeorge | Dec. 18, 2013 | Review of Velocity® Ultra
Starts out as a shooter mixed with a racing game, but very soon turns into a complicated puzzle which will keep you hooked from the word go! Graphics are basic but being a 2d game you would not expect much better, cut scenes are very interesting, images based on a manga, action comic style. Controls can be mastered very quickly but a little more work is needed to master the skill of the game. Very addictive the more and more you play, has the simplicity of an old retro N64 game with the gameplay of something much more modern which couldn’t have been achieved these many years ago.
Not great but goodgasheadgeorge | Dec. 18, 2013 | Review of Iron Sky Invasion
Before I start, this is deeply based on the movie and at least tries to take on the movie’s comedy and cheesiness. There are little options to choose from as you start the game as there is no multiplayer element to this game which is heavily centres on the games campaign. Unfortunately this can be completed in a short time and once completed there’s no real incentive to play it again. Upon starting you are thrown into a spaceship in the basic tutorial where you first see the films influence in the form of some cheesy jokes from some bad but well at least I think intentionally bad video acting. If you can get over and see through this you find an enjoyable space shooter, controls are pretty easy to master so not anything too difficult for your standard gamer here! Graphics are good but there is little attention to detail up close which is expected. Overall a good game but not a must buy!
