Nothing Less Than a Masterpiece

iLLMATICxKiNG | May 24, 2013 | Review of BioShock Infinite (NA)

The story of Bioshock has always been one to "wow" gamers everywhere with how good it has done. The case is not any different after the release of Infinite. Be prepared to experience what all of the hype is about circulating Bioshock: Infinite.

The first thing that engulfs the player is how spectacular the game's visuals are. The game itself looks different that any other game on the market yet somehow manages to stand out to be breath-taking. Even if your PC is incapable of running the game maxed out it is still one of the best looking games. The atmosphere aids in the graphical quality because there is so much to see. The sky, things in the distance, stellar shadows and phenomenal player models. All in all, Infinite truly sets the bar high for an amazing looking game.

On to the story, perhaps the best part of Infinite, is an unforgettable experience. The player is in control of Booker Dewitt, a man with debt. The only way to clear his name of this debt is to visit the "cloud city" of Columbia and retrieve a girl, namely Elizabeth. While the game is story focused, it keeps the audience wanting more. I found myself beating the entire story mode in two days because I just kept wanting more. My only gripe with the story is that it could have been longer, but nonetheless it was a game story that stands out in my books as one of the best.

Bioshock: Infinite is truly a must played title for anyone even slightly considering purchasing it. And don't worry - you don't have to play the first two Bioshocks to understand it, although there are minor references here and there to the previous titles.
