Well made and challenging.jonvondom | June 23, 2013 | Review of Sine Mora
Make no bones, this is a game that will kick your teeth in at times. This is ok as it's never cheap about it and will push you to improve your skill. The graphics and art design are both fantastic. the controls are incredibly tight, I never once found myself blaming the controls for my failure. The story is very interesting if not sometimes silly. For being "just a shooter" it has a lot of mythology to it's world. The music and sound design are pretty terrific as well.
It's beauty carries itjonvondom | June 23, 2013 | Review of CreaVures
This is an incredibly shallow, but competent game. The gameplay consists of switching between characters to accomplish goals. Sadly, it begins to get very tedious very fast. However the game has a certain charm that makes it worth playing given the low price. The art style is gorgeous and the graphics are fantastic. the sound design is pretty good as well. this is one game I truly wish was in 3D. overall fairly repetitious, but undeniably charming.
really neat add-onjonvondom | May 27, 2013 | Review of Simcity Double City Pack (NA)
The esthetic part of this add-on is nice and all, but its what it entails that is great.
plopping down Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower is as easy as placing any landmark in the base game.
the real bonus is that near by buildings take on the flavor of these landmarks native cities. Adding lots of tourism to your city and helping bring much needed revenue.
The new challenges are some of the harder, but more interesting ones in the game thus far.
For the price this set adds a lot of content to the existing game.
Glad I took a chancejonvondom | May 23, 2013 | Review of Spaceforce™: Rogue Universe
I bought this somewhat on a whim since the price was right and the gameplay looked fun. So far so good.
The graphics are actually very nice. Space looks great. the ship models are interesting look fantastic. Characters in cut scenes are....odd, but of no concern.
The controls are tight and feel responsive. Space combat controls can be tricky in these kinds of games, but Space Force nails it.
The game has a LOT of missions and the combat is fantastic and at times white knuckle tense. For such a low price this is a lot of game.
A great and rewarding packagejonvondom | May 17, 2013 | Review of Raiden Legacy
This is an incredible value for fans of shooters. The inclusion four amazing raiden games guarantees insane amounts of hours of fun. The difficulty is just as high as ever, but never unfair. this is a game you spend time improving your skills at and when you finally clear a difficult area that was problematic for you it is a great feeling. This is a lot of content for a very fair price. I can not recommend it enough.
great poker, great fun.jonvondom | May 17, 2013 | Review of Poker Night at the Inventory
This is like having poker night with your friends except everyone here is far more entertaining than any of your friends. as for gameplay, it's poker, you either make good mechanics or you don't and this game knocks it out of the park. The graphics are fantastic for what they need to be. the real draw here is the characters with strong bad being my favorite of the bunch. on or off sale this game is well worth your time and money.
Demo impressed.jonvondom | May 15, 2013 | Review of Remember Me (NA) Pre-Purchase
If the full product is half as good as the playable demos have been, people are in for a treat. The idea of someone that rewrites peoples memories getting amnesia is a fascinating concept all on its own. Throw in great platforming and combat and you have something on par with Uncharted. The graphics are fantastic from a technical standpoint, but it's the art design that stands out. The lighting is awesome and adds great mood. the controls are tight and respond perfectly for this style of game. preorder the game, you wont be disappointed.
Great fun!!!jonvondom | May 15, 2013 | Review of Saints Row: The Third
This is the kind of game that's perfect to kick back with for hours at a time. So many activities and game styles. While the story if incredibly tongue and cheek its still a good time from start to finish and never takes itself too serious. The graphics are bright and colorful and the animations are well done and mostly amusing. The controls are some of the best for the genre and never seem to frustrate. the character customization and amount of weaponry make this a game with major replay value.
The best just got better.jonvondom | May 9, 2013 | Review of FIFA 13 (NA)
Fifa 13 is easily the most fun you can have with a sports game. The abundance of modes guarantee you won't be finished before 14 releases. The graphics are stellar and major players look perfect and even lesser known players have a decent amount of detail. the animation is absolutely spot on. even the odd animation hiccup can result in hilarity you wont forget. the controls are so fluid you will forget theres even a controller in your hand. The audio is some of the best in all sports games, great stadium noise and phenomenal commentary. Overall, I can not recommend this enough.
Absolutely Charmingjonvondom | April 17, 2013 | Review of DLC Quest
Real humor in gaming is a rarity and parody is almost unheard of. I am happy to say DLC Quest manages to knock it out of the park when it comes to both.
DLC Quest is a commentary on the state of modern gaming and the over abundance of first day dlc as well as the aqudacity publishers display in making fundamental gameplay elements that should be included a paid add on. For example; when you begin the game there is no sound or animation and your charecter lacks the ability to move left.
The art. while crude has a definate charm to it.
The story is the absolute highlight of the experiance. Poking fun at games ranging from old school final fantasy to mass effect.
The only negative is that the game clocks in at a miniscule hour and change. Given the low price tag and the smile on your face the whole time this flaw can be easily overlooked.
Overall this is an experiance you do not want to miss.
